Earlier this week, there was a management meeting and one thing that was discussed was the reintroduction of the Tag Team Titles. With APW having its largest roster to date, talks on this sounded promising with new Tag Team champions being crowned at Shockwave in August, which is APW’s 2nd biggest PPV of the year.
The Tag Titles we’re first introduced in 2008 at that years Mayhem Pay Per View where Diana Steel and Tara Jacobs won the titles in a TLC match. The team of Jason Royce and The Hardcore Kid (now known as Chris Cyrus) held the title on 2 separate occasions. The belts we’re then vacated on February 22nd of last year when at the PPV, Carnage, Link and APW Hall of Famer BDC defeated Streets Wilson and Rick Stevens by DQ when Streets hit BDC with a chair. Because the tag champs got themselves DQed on purpose to keep the titles, General Manager at the time, Max Carter decided to strip the team of the tag titles and Vacating them.
