The management of APW would like to congratulate Bryan Payne in becoming the new APW Heavyweight Champion at this past week's Overdrive. He won the belt in an inpromptu Triple Threat Match against the former champ, Pence Weatherlight, and Level-One, pinning Pence to gain the belt.
On a sadder note, this match was Pence's last, as a lingering arm injury forced him to retire from in ring competition.
Also, due to the fact that he wasn't pinned during the Triple Threat Match, APW management has declared Level-One to be the new #1 Contender for the APW Heavyweight Championship at Test for the Best, live, Sunday, July 4 on pay per view.
