It’s a cold Wednesday evening. Chris Cyrus is seen in his car, outside the Long Island Hotel. He’s sitting in the drivers seat with his cell phone in his hand.
Chris: Here goes nothing.
He selects a number and dials it. The phone rings and an answering machine picks up.
Voice: Hi, you reached Ellie. I’m not available right now, please leave your name and number and I’ll get back to you
BEEP
Chris: Hey Ellie…Its Chris. Chris Cyrus. I don’t know if your screening your calls or not, but I want to let you know that I feel bad about what I said to you last week on Overdrive. I was just upset about everything and I took it out on you, and I shouldn’t have. And for that, I’m sorry. I hope we can still be friends. We made mistakes, I hope we can learn from them and move on. I hope everything is well with you, we should get together again soon and have some coffee or something. Again, I’m sorry for how I acted. I hope you accept my apology and call me back. Bye
Chris hangs up and lets out a big sigh and dials another number.
Chris: Lets hope this works.
The phone rings as Chris brings it up to his ear. After a couple rings, he gets another answering machine
Voice: You’ve reached the home Gary Biggerstaff. I’m not home right now so please leave a message at the beep
BEEP
Chris: Hey Biggs, Its Chris here. I’m probably the last guy you want to hear from, your expected to hear from. But I wish you could just answer my calls. I feel really bad with how our relationship ended. And its too bad it came down to one of us having to leave APW. But I broke things off with Ellie. I know it doesn’t fix things, and maybe all we need is time to heal these wounds. I’m sorry about everything. But I’m willing to put everything behind us Biggs so we can start over. Maybe we can get together and have a cup of coffee or lunch or something. We’ve had too many good times together to just let one innocent mistake ruin everything. Please get back to me Biggs. If there’s anything I can do to make it up to you, just name it. Please get back to me Biggs. And one more thing. Good luck on Overdrive. Bye.
Chris hangs up his phone and puts it in his pocket. He stays sitting in his car and say’s
Chris: I really hope they accept my apology.
With that, Chris exits his car and the scene fades

The scene opens up at the IWC Arena. Its Sunday the day of the 3rd IWC event. In the ring, Chris Cyrus can be seen helping setting up the ring. He’s in the corner tightening up the ring ropes. Once he finishes, Chris runs off the ropes, testing them out. The ropes are at his approval and he then gets out of the ring and starts heading towards the locker room, but is quickly stopped by Jack Spade and the camera man who’s holding a hand held camcorder.
Jack: Hey Chris, can I get a few minutes of your time?
Chris: Don’t you got anything else better to do than to bud people for interviews?
Jack: Well, Its my job.
Chris: Well, Start doing it.
Jack: Right. Tonight, you face off against not one, but two opponents in a triple threat match. James Chambers and The Gambler. How are you feeling right now going into this match.
Chris: I’m feeling Pretty Good. Pretty, Pretty Good. And I’ll tell you why. Its because right now, I feel fresh and focus. Getting fired from APW might have been the best thing that could have happened to me right now. While in APW, I was on the road every night, wrestling a few shows a week. The only down time was Christmas Vacation. I was always on the go, and I’ll admit, I was getting burned out. But now, in IWC. One match every two weeks. I can sleep in now, I can go to the gym when ever I want. More time to prepare for my match. More time to study my opponents. So overall, this is a new beginning for me and the era of Chris Cyrus will continue to roll going into the new year.
Jack: Last week, your opponents had some words to say about you and the upcoming match. Have you had a chance to hear what they had to say.
Chris: Of course I did. What kind of person would I be if I didn’t pay attention to what lies my opponent had to say about me. That’s why I’m here, to set the record straight.
Jack: Lets Start with the Gambler…
Chris: The Gambler, don’t get me started on that piece of crap. A card player turned wrestler. You know something, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s bet money on this match. And if he was a smart man, he’d bet on me to win, but I don’t think he’s smart enough to do something like that. The thing I don’t like about the Gambler is that he thinks he’s so damn smart when in reality, he shares the same IQ as Jason Royce. The Gambler needs to take his own advice going into this match. You know, “Know when to hold them, know when to fold them. Know when to walk away and know when to run.” Because tonight Gambler, your going into be in the ring with me, and your in for a hell of a beating. You know your paddling up a shit creek, thinking that you can beat me Gambler. You need to take your ass and run away. Run as far as you can, because the thing is Gambler, the stakes are high in this match. A win opens a door of opportunities for all of us. And I know you like those odds, but, for you, those odds, they aren’t in your favor because tonight, its going to be like playing Russian Roulette. There can only be one winner and it will be me. And that is something you can bet on.
Jack: On to your other opponent, James Chambers. He’s gone on the record to say that your accomplishments in APW doesn’t mean anything and that your best days are behind you.
Chris: James Chambers believes his own hype. He thinks he’s a big shot here. Thinks he’s a big fish in a small pond. That’s his problem. Maybe back in another company he was a big deal, but all the accomplishments there are all questionable. But my accomplishments in APW, they do matter. Does James think that being a 2 time APW Tag Team Champion mean nothing? Does he think making it to the final 4 in the 2009 Survive and Conquer match means nothing? Does he think winning the Overdrive Title mean nothing. Does he thing being the longest reigning APW Xtreme Champion, holding it for 364 days mean nothing. Does he think being the 2009 Champion of the year means nothing. Those accomplishments mean everything. All legit wins. All legit accomplishments. Maybe to him it means nothing because APW and IWC are two different companies, but the two companies have the same boss. This year, I haven’t done much, I’ll admit it. I had such a great year in 2009, that I decided to take it easy this year, heal up nagging injuries, and regroup. My best years, are not behind me, my best years haven’t even taken place yet! The way I look at it, it’s the best years of YOUR career James are behind you.
James Chambers might not think highly of me, but that’s fine. I’m used to it. I’m used to not be taken seriously. I’m used to being underestimated. And that’s what makes me so dangerous. Just when you think I’m down and out, I strike back and send you straight to hell. Many guys fell into the same trap. James Chambers, you may be bigger, badder and blacker than me, but your all bark and no bite. One thing I learned over the years, its not how big the dog is in the fight, its how big the fight is in the dog.
Jack: Lets talk about Jason Royce for a second.
Chris: I’m not wasting my time with that guy tonight. I’ll worry about him at the Super show.
Jack: I won’t keep you any longer, any final words for your opponent tonight.
Chris: Tonight, three men walk in undefeated, one man walks out still undefeated. The favorite to win, who knows, but one thing I do know is that I’m going into this match to give it my all. I didn’t come to IWC to be a stepping stone. I didn’t come here to watch people get a head of me up the ladder of success. I have one goal in mind, the IWC Insane Championship. I’m going to do everything I can to make sure I get a shot at that title. And I want to make sure I’m noticed. And tonight, there’s no better way to get noticed that to beat up an old guy and a former World Champion of a fed that was once on top of the world.
Tonight boys, get ready for a rude awakening. Get ready to have your career’s cut short. James, its time for you to be put in your place, its time for someone to shut you up. And The Gambler, you need to do yourself a favor and quit while your ahead. You got lucky in your pervious matches and your luck runs out tonight. I was even nice enough to get you both tickets. One way Tickets Straight To Hell. You guys might not think much of me, but remember this. My Name is Chris Cyrus, And that Means I Am Better Than YOU!
Chris walks away from Jack as the scene guts out.
Chris: Here goes nothing.
