It comes as no surprise after what happened on Overdrive that Pence is beginning to become an extremely strong candidate for being the masked man. Pence has done it before after all and for the very same title that Sally holds around her waist, right now. Pence of course claims that the Masked Man is not him and that he would never repeat that mistake in his career again, but that does not throw him out of the running. After all, Pence brutally attacked Brandon Young and even tried to go at him after the match if not for Sally's intervention. But is that evidence of a devious mission that Pence is undertaking to become champion again? Analysts say, no. After Overdrive, Pence was questioned by interviewers about the match, and Pence had only one thing to say:
Pence: I let all my frustration and anger loose...I lost my championship...I lost my honor...I lost everything and then on top of that I have to be told by some new comer that I am "rusty" or that I'm "injured". Honestly, I hope Brandon is alright, but people need to know that I mean business this year. I'm tired of being the forgotten man here on APW, the show that I and several other outstanding athletes, and Level One helped build up. I don't intend to be a bystander this year while people walk around and win championships...I intend to be champion this year or bust.
When asked about the new group that had formed, Pence just laughed, and pointed out the obvious:
Pence: So three people are going to change the course of Survive and Conquer 2011 by themselves? I call bull shit and as far as anyone should be concerned the whole damn lot of them need to watch there back because I don't like any of them and they clearly have stepped on a lot of toes tonight.
After that, Pence walked off toward a cab, and disappeared into the rampancy of the streets. It was also announced today that Pence received a contract extension for another year of wrestling...also Pence was fined several thousand dollars for the injuries he gave Brandon Young. Pence payed without any hesitation and gave a note to President Jeff to give to Brandon Young. The letter is said to be a letter of apology.
