For those of you who don't feel like clicking the link, it's a video of former UFC Heavyweight Champ Tim Sylvia's loss to Abe Wagner last night. Yes, that Abe Wagner, the one who got his head split open by Jon Madsen on TUF10. Not taking away anything from Wagner, who looked to be in great shape, like he was actually training for a fight and not a 'letting yourself go' contest.
This is beginning to become a vicious cycle for Tim. Once again, he doesn't train, underestimates his opponent, balloons up to over 300 pounds and gets knocked out in less than a minute by a guy he shouldn't have lost to, just like the Ray Mercer fight. The sad thing is, he was on a four fight win streak and may have had a shot at getting back in the big show with one of the major orgs, but not now. This isn't necessarily a career ending loss, but he will have to go back to the drawing board. If anything, this might help get Abe some notice by Bellator or Strikeforce, hell if his agent is good enough, UFC.
