It didn't take long for Pence to say something about his role in APW after the defeat at the hands of IWC on Sunday. The man who was named the MVP for his team had done so much for APW and had played a pivical role in bringing the team to where it had gotten Sunday, but in the end it was not enough to clench the victory. However, Pence had a few things to say. Not about the match, but his future.
"Things need to change. If this PPV proved anything to me is that I still got the endurance and the ability to wrestle in the Main Event at a PPV like Rasslemania."
The team captain said after having himself examined for signs of physical injury. Pence suffered a few bruises, but seemed to be in relatively good shape.
"I don't like the fact that we lost, but that is what happens when we don't take our foes seriously...there is nothing I can do to bring people up if they don't want to strive for excellence. As for me...I tried my best and was recognized for that by Jeff. Mayhem is on the way and the title picture has sort of opened itself up and to say I'm available would be an understatement. I think the fans are tired of seeing Sally and Level One duking it out over a stale bond of hatred between the two of them...it is time to actually invigorate the division and give the fans more bang for their buck and I'm that bang."
Pence went on to say that he was ready for any sort of obstacle that Jeff threw in front of him just as long as there was a title at the end of the rainbow for him. This writer believes Pence deserves the opportunity to fight for a title be it the new Undisputed title or the Overdrive title, Pence deserves this shot after going through the hell of being the captain of two of the most undermining individuals that Jeff could possibly find in Clapton and Knoxville. Before I left the room to go back to the hotel and write this report, Pence left me with some final thoughts as he tirelessly prepared to leave for a short home trip for himself.
"I've done my fair share of slumming, James and I'm tired of being on clean up duty. It is now time for Jeff to throw this dog a bone."
