(The scene once again opens up inside of the fairly empty gym, picking up right where things left off last time. Rico Casteel is still inside of the ring, grabbing the top rope nearest the entrance, glaring down to the floor where the latest people to enter the gym stand. T-Drizzle and his manager Mookie LaBraun smile up at him as Colonel Frederick de LaFontaine III simply shakes his head and leans against the ring apron.)
Rico: What the fuck are you two doing here?
Mookie: Whoa, big guy, don't be so short. We're just here to train. T-Drizzle's got a big match comin' up. Gotta make sure he's prepped.
(Rico shakes his head and releases the ropes in frustration.)
Colonel: Well, I can't say I'm shocked to see them here. Seems like Mookie and his cousin have become regular stalkers of yours, Rico.
Mookie: Slow your roll, gramps. I ain't here to stalk no one. Just gettin' in a bit of work with Big T here.
Rico: What a surprising coincidence...
Colonel: I think, I say, I think what Rico is trying to say, is that we are also here for a...bit of work. For Asylum.
Mookie: Right. I think I heard 'bout that. Good luck big guy.
(Rico rolls his eyes.)
Mookie: Wanna leave the ring though, so we can work?
Rico: You're kidding right?
Colonel: It's our ring. We've got it booked, boys. We'll gladly give y'all a call when we're through, but right now, we'd like it if you'd leave.
T-Drizzle: Your ring?
(T-Drizzle shakes his head and takes a step forward, eyes wide with anger as he removes his jacket.)
T-Drizzle: Your ring? Ain't seen your name on the ring. Far as I'm concerned, that ring be open to everyone.
Rico: We booked it---
T-Drizzle: Booked it? Ah, hell no, man. You ain't booked shit. Not on my watch. Not while T-Drizzle is around.
Rico: Well, then, by all means. If you want the ring so bad, why don't you just get in here. We'll settle this like men.
Colonel: This is not a good idea...
(Rico smiles as T-Drizzle nods his head and licks his lips. Mookie stands by with his arms folded over his chest. T-Drizzle walks up to the ring and grabs the middle rope hauling himself up onto the ring apron.)
Voice: Not so fast.
(Everyone stops to look at the door as Gary Busey walks into the gym.)
Busey: It's good to know that the weak ones will always try to fight through their own pain while the stronger ones know the truth.
(Mookie stares at Busey with his mouth open as the Wild Card walks around the collective group.)
Colonel: Nice of you to join us, Gary.
Busey: Thank you, Old Man Winter. I got caught behind a tow truck and was caught in awe with the way the winch system worked. Fascinating stuff.
Mookie: I'm not even high, but I can tell this guy is the shit.
T-Drizzle: Who tha fuck is this guy?
Busey: Sorry for being rude. The name is Gary Busey.
(Busey extends his hand up to T-Drizzle, but before anything can happen, Rico moves it and connects with a knock-out punch on T-Drizzle, causing him to fall off the apron and into a heap on the mats around the ring.)
Mookie: Shit...
Busey: Well played sir, well played.
Rico: That's what happens when you show up on time, and put in the work. That's what happens when you are an actual wrestler and not some...some...
Busey: Say no more. I know exactly what you mean.
Colonel: You do?
Busey: Yep. You see I was in your shoes once.
(Rico leans on the top rope.)
Rico: You were a wrestler?
Busey: No. I dabbled in mail delivery. And let me tell you, that makes this little world seem like a children's ball pit. But I found that if you carry a little bit of meat on your person, you can really do a lot to fend off the dogs trying to nip at your heels.
Rico: What the fuck?
(The Colonel holds up a hand, as Mookie remains awestruck.)
Busey: I mean, sure, it's not glamorous, but there are worse things that could happen, right? But it taught me a lot about myself. What I could handle, what I couldn't handle. And that speaks volumes. May I?
(Busey motions to the ring, but before anyone answers, he rolls in under the bottom rope and quickly climbs back to his feet.)
Busey: After you weight the two sides, it really opens your eyes, right? It makes you feel whole. Like all the planets are lining up and aiming straight at you. And stepping in here...makes me feel like they're giving me a solid thumbs up.
Colonel: Come on, I say, come on and spit it out, boy. We ain't got all day to hear you ramble on about this stuff.
(Rico stands in front of Busey, staring him down.)
Rico: Really, I just want to know one thing. Am I going to have to worry about you going behind my back to help out James, or can I trust you to be loyal to the side your on.
Busey: Well, if you would have allowed me to continue I would have gotten to that. But since we've all decided to just, jump ahead, yes. Yes you can trust me.
Rico: Are you going to be okay, or should we have a gurney at ringside?
(Busey steps forward and reaches up, placing his hand against Rico's cheek and lightly slapping him.)
Busey: Listen to you, thinking you have to worry about me. How sweet. Of course I'll be fine. Why wouldn't I? When I was younger I dabbled in mail delivery. And let me tell you, that makes this little world seem like a children's ball pit....
(With Busey still talking, Rico looks out at the Colonel and shakes his head as the scene fades to black.)
"Well, Jimmy, tonight is the night. Tonight is the night that I prove our last match ended in the wrong fashion. That when we last went toe to toe, I should have won. You said so yourself, I had you on the ropes. I had you teetering on the brink of defeat, but you managed to pull out a win thanks to Chris Cyrus. You can deny his involvement in the match, and you can claim that it is just because you were focused on him, but I know the truth. I know that if he hadn't have come down to the ring, I would have won.
"Now I get my chance at revenge. My chance to show everyone what a fraud of a champion you are. Sure, I can respect what you have been capable of doing, for the most part. I can even appreciate the fact that you are a competitive man like myself. But what I can't do, is accept the fact that you are parading around Asylum as the World Heavyweight champion, while the rightful champion stands off to the side.
"I'm sure you will cry foul on that. I haven't even gotten a title shot, but I feel like I should be the champion. Though like I said last time, I wasn't involved in the tournament. I wasn't given the opportunity to win the Heavyweight title. But if I had? I would have won. There is no doubt in my mind that I would have embarrassed you inside of that ring to capture that title.
"Instead, I had to take the long way to the top. I had to wait out the useless Cyrus, and then defeat nineteen other hopefuls just so I could step into the ring and take your title from you. Just so I could prove you wrong, and show you that you are not the most dominant Megastar in APW's history. Because to be at that level, you need to prove that there is no one standing in your way. That there is no one better than you.
"But I am.
"Though, that fight is going to be weeks down the road.
"While I do get my chance to prove the last match wrong, it comes with a little flavor attached. There aren't any titles on the line, there are two celebrities tagging along, and with this being the last match that Asylum will host in the IWC Arena, I am sure that the blood with be spilled all over the ring. I am sure that we will leave it all in that ring so that the fans will remember the outcome of the match for what it will be.
"Sending the APW World Heavyweight champion into bedlam. Which is only a sign of things to come, really. The preview and the precursor that you said it would be.
"I won't make things easy on you. I won't let you leave Long Island with just a few scars. When we do step toe to toe during the match this week, you can bet that nothing will be held back. You can rest assured that I will unload on you with everything that I have. But I know that you already know that.
"You know what I am capable of, and that scares you. That sends you into a panic. You can lie to yourself and to all of the people by saying that you don't fear me, that everything I am saying is just rolling right off of your back, but that is only a lie. That is only a false impression you are creating. Because I know you better than you give me credit for.
"I know that you are afraid of me. No matter how you try and hide it, James, it still shines through. I know that the very though of me walking down to the ring worries you. It scares you. And once I step through the curtain, the reality of the situation will hit you head on. You will start to realize how much trouble you are going to be in for. I am not Cousin Ronnie, not be a long shot. I am a thousand times worse than whatever Ronnie was capable of. And I'm sure that you know that. You're starting small with hopes that you can build up to a larger fear, build up to mentally defeating me. But you can't. Because I am the one fear that you can not overcome.
"And that's just the way I like it.
"Because it shows me that everything I have done has not gone to waste. That everything I have managed to accomplished during my time here has been noticed be everyone, including those that claim to be the most bad ass of the bad ass. It shows me that even the meanest men around are being sent into fits by my very presence. By what I am very capable of doing once I step into that ring.
"And you can't escape it, James. You can't rely on your words once that bell rings. You can't hide behind your posse once things really begin to heat up. All you will be able to do is rely on some geriatric wanna be wrestler to get you by this week. But as I'm sure you are well aware, even he won't be able to help you out. No length of coaching in the world will be able to save you from the beating you will receive in the Asylum. He will not be able to prepare you for what you are about to walk in on. And you know it. You know that even if you study my matches and train yourself to the fullest, you will still come up short.
"Every time I am inside of that ring, nothing that I do is the same. The only constant that exists, is the fear on the face of all of my opponents.
"And that includes you."
Rico: What the fuck are you two doing here?
Mookie: Whoa, big guy, don't be so short. We're just here to train. T-Drizzle's got a big match comin' up. Gotta make sure he's prepped.
