[The year 2010 ended on a high note for "Supersonic" Branden Harvey. He held the APW Xtreme Championship until the final show of the year. He went to the APW Year End Awards show and won Rising Star of the Year as well as Surprise of the Year.
But that's where it ended. 2011 has been a bad year so far. Harvey has hardly had a victory to his name this year. It looks like APW picked the wrong man as rising star.
Harvey was eliminated quickly by Level-One, now Lester "L1" Only, in the Survive and Conquer Match. He beat "The Madman" Ebon in a Stretcher Match at Blood, Sweat, and Broken Teeth but Ebon never had one win to his name in his short IWC career, so it wasn't that impressive. He went on to Rasslemania to lose to Johnny Knuckles in a Hardcore in Hell Match.
Branden Harvey hasn't lived up to his expectations in 2011.
And now, Harvey is nothing but the butt of every joke backstage. He's pathetic.
With all this in mind, Harvey continues to try and be the best in APW. He continues to strive for greatness. Even when greatness eludes him.]
[The following interview was conducted after "Supersonic" Branden Harvey was kicked out of the Perth Speeddome during Overdrive. APW's website reporter, Phil, tries to get a word with Harvey in the parking lot as Harvey is leaving Overdrive. His wife, Lisa, and son, James, are with him.]
Phil: Branden Harvey, can I get a word with you?
Lisa: He doesn't feel like talking after that bullcrap happened.
Harvey: It's okay, Lisa. that was garbage but I can handle an interview.
James: Camra? Take picture.
Harvey: It's not that kind of camera, buddy. It videotapes us and puts us on TV, or, in this case, the internet.
James: CARTOONS!!
Lisa: C'mon, James. Let's get you in your car seat and let Daddy talk to the nice man.
[Lisa starts to get in the car but Branden stops her from taking James with her.]
Harvey: It's fine. Let's let the APW fans meet my son.
[Lisa shrugs and gets in the car by herself as Branden picks James up while he talks to Phil.]
Harvey: Let's get this over with, Phil. I'm really not happy with what happened tonight with Jesse Nunez and I just want to get back to the hotel room with my family. I'm sure you're going to ask me about my match with Nunez at Mayhem.
Phil: No. We all know he's going to beat you. There's no question about that. I want to ask you about your match this Sunday on Asylum against Nathaniel Broadway.
James: Daddy strongest there is.
Harvey: First off, I'm going to prove everyone wrong about Mayhem. I'm going to pin Jesse Nunez to the mat and show him why the fans love me. My losing streak is over. Which brings me to Nathaniel Broadway. I don't know much about him except that he was an EWC legend. But that doesn't matter. Like I said, my losing streak is over. It ends with Broadway.
Phil: How can you be so sure? Mr. Dangerous has a better win/loss record than you and he's never so much as thrown a punch.
James: Danger Man fall down.
Harvey: Yes, buddy. Mr. Dangerous falls down. A lot. As for what you said, Phil. Doesn't Mr. Dangerous have a better win/loss record than most of APW? Guy has a lucky talisman from ancient Asia or something.
Phil: Well, Mr. Harvey, Broadway is a legend in this business and he has a bad habit on annihilating anyone and everyone that gets in his way.
Harvey: He hasn't faced me yet. I've hit rock bottom in APW. But that just makes me more determined to climb out of this hole and win. Broadway doesn't know what he's up against.
James: Daddy smash.
[Branden laughs and James, though he doesn't know what his daddy is laughing about, laughs with him.]
James: I funny.
Harvey: You are funny, buddy. I love you. But Phil, I promise you I will walk out with the victory this Sunday on Asylum.
Phil: How can you be so sure?
Harvey: Phil, Nathaniel Broadway may be a beast of a man but I'm the fastest wrestler to ever set foot in a wrestling ring. I'm so fast that I'm supersonic. Broadway needs to be prepared, be aware, and, most of all, Broadway needs to be afraid. Because it's time to break the sound barrier with a Sonic Boom.
James: BOOM!
[Branden turns around without saying another word. He straps James into his car seat, gets in the car, and drives away as the scene fades.]
