Backstage at Mayhem
The scene opens up backstage at Mayhem following Chris Cyrus match with Diamante Valentine. Referee’s are carrying Chris through the backstage curtain and towards a stretcher waiting for him. They sit Chris on the Stretcher and an EMT begins shining a small flash light in his eyes and checking him for any signs of a concussion or any other kind of injury
EMT: How are you feeling Chris?
Chris: I’m fine. I’m a little sore but I’ll be fine.
EMT: Are you feeling any dizziness?
Chris: I said I’m fine.
Chris gets up off the stretcher and loses his balance before falling back down on it.
EMT: I’m going to need you to sit here for a bit as we evaluate you.
Chris: I said I’m fine.
EMT: You we’re just dropped on your head, your not fine. Just say here.
Chris sits on the stretcher and turns his head to watch a small monitor which has the Mayhem PPV playing live. Just then, Cindy Shannon shows up with the camera and a microphone in hand.
Cindy: Chris, can I get a few words about your match here tonight
Chris: That match sucked. I had it all planned out, I was going to go out there, win the Xtreme Title. Right now, I should be celebrating and partying, but no, Diamante shoved a horse shoe up his ass and picked up the victory. I get assaulted by Gambler and now, I’m sitting here and the doctors won’t let me leave.
Cindy: Your health is always first and foremost, but now that you didn’t win the Xtreme Title, where does Chris Cyrus go from here.
Chris: I’m going back to Asylum and I’m going to take care of some business I have with the Gambler. If he thinks he can attack me like that, almost breaking my neck, then think I’m not going to do anything about it, then the Gambler has another thing coming. But the Gambler is a gambling man. He’s not stupid, he knows I’m coming for him. So Gambler, you better be ready for me. Because now, it just became personal.
The EMT comes back
EMT: Sorry to interrupt, but Chris Cyrus needs to be left alone at the moment.
The EMT goes back to working on Chris as Cindy walks away and the scene fades.
END SCENE
It’s a warm Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas Nevada. We see Chris Cyrus sitting back in a lawn chair on his patio, only wearing sun glasses and some shorts. In his hand is a cold can on beer and he’s looking out into his backyard pool where some close friends are enjoying a nice swim. The camera focus on Chrises face as he begins to talk.
Chris: At Mayhem, I lost to Diamante Valentine. I’m man enough to admit that I lost but I didn’t lose because Diamante was the better man that night. Oh no, I lost because on May 22nd, 2011, Diamante Valentine was the luckiest SOB in the world. And Diamante, if you think just because you got the victory over me, that makes you the greatest APW Xtreme Champion of ALL time, all I got to say about that is…
NOT BY A LONG SHOT PAL
You’ve had that Xtreme Title for two months now, lets see you hold it for another ten. Diamante, you may have retained your title, but its just a matter of time before you lose it. And your lucky I got bigger fish to fry, which brings me to The Gambler.
After my match with Diamante, I got attack by The Gambler, not only was I attacked, I was attacked from behind and gives me The Roll of the Dice in the middle of this ring. I guess that was payback from Asylum a month ago. So Gambler, you probably think that we’re even now, well, it doesn’t quite work like that, because Chris Cyrus, gets the last laugh.
Chris takes a drink of his beer before continuing
Chris: Because you see, at Mayhem, during my match, something weird happened. The APW Faithful, they started to chant for my awesome headlocks. And after your attack on me, I got some support from the fans. And I must say, Its good to see that there’s some fans out there that appreciate and respect what I represent. And those cheers, I won’t lie. The felt pretty good. And I know for a fact that those fans don’t like you Gambler and that’s why I’m now, officially going to make it my quest to take you out. The next time I get my hands on you Gambler, I’m going to put you in a headlock, and squeeze your head until it pops like a pimple. And I may be able to do that sooner than I was planning, which brings me to my next point. The next episode of Asylum.
Chris leans forward in his chair.
Chris: In a 6 Person Tag Match. We have on one side of the fence, Gambling Superstars, The Gambler and Bobby Bodacious teaming up with the debuting Ace Kearney To take on the debuting tag team of The Big Time Jerks and their partner, Me, Chris Cyrus. It was just recently that Gambler and Bodacious, you guys officially announced your tag team. Well guess what, Lucky for the Big Time Jerks, Tag Team Wrestling is my specialty. From May of 2009 till October of 2010, I was part of the greatest tag team to ever be part of APW, I’m talking about The Axis of Awesome. My partner Biggs, even though we don’t see eye to eye, we we’re dominate in every aspect of a team. And also to prove that I am a tag team specialist, the last time I was in a tag team match, I pinned James Chambers in the middle of the ring. Yes, THE James Chambers, the APW World Heavyweight Champion. And I plan on using my skills to help lead my team to Victory this Sunday.
My question to you, Gambling Superstars is, can you trust your partner. Can you trust a man who you have no idea what they are capable of. Can you trust a man that you know nothing about. I’m letting the Big Time Jerks know right now if they are listening, Chris Cyrus is 100% on their side Sunday. I welcome the new team with big open arms in APW and I be more than happy to teach them a thing or two about this company and how to get to the top. Because I was at the top, maybe not the world champion, but I held three other titles here, Including the Overdrive Title, Xtreme Title for 364 days, and I’m a former two time tag team champion. Maybe that means nothing to you since this is a 6 man tag and not a 4 man one, but it doesn’t matter. Because when it comes down to it, tag team wrestling is about chemistry and trust. Big Time Jerks, those guys, I believe they have chemistry. They are two guys who know each other better than anyone. Those two guys can reach each other like a book. And then you have the trust, My. Sure, maybe I have a shady past when the word “Trust” comes up around me, but when that bell rings, its business time and as long as we have our focus on one goal, and that goal is to win, then the team of The Big Time Jerks and Chris Cyrus are going to make a statement.
Chris takes his sun glasses off so you can see his eyes
Chris: Gambler, Bobby Bodacious and Ace Kearney, This Sunday will mark a new beginning for Chris Cyrus. The fans have spoken at Mayhem and they are now on the Chris Cyrus band wagon and I will do whatever I have to do to make sure the fans get what they want. HEAD LOCKS. HEAD LOCKS. AND MORE HEADLOCKS!
Gambler, don’t forget, I will get revenge on you for your attack on Mayhem, make my words. It may be this Sunday at Asylum, or maybe next Thursday on Overdrive. But when the time it right, you will know because when it happens, I’ll be sending your ass STRAIGHT…TO….HELL!
With that, Chris puts his sun glasses back on, takes a sip of beer and sits back in his chair
