(The scene opens up backstage at Overdrive, just after the cameras cut out, where we see Rico Casteel still standing, with the APW Heavyweight title over his shoulder. Colonel Frederick de LaFontaine III sits in the back on a steel chair. Rico walks away from the door and passes by a table laid out against the near wall, with a few pieces of paper scattered on top.)
Rico: What's all this?
Colonel: Well that, I say, that is the preparation I have been doing for ya.
(Rico reaches down and picks up a sheet of paper and on it, is a picture of Isamu Suzuki.)
Colonel: I figure that since I managed to get you this close to the belt, I'd make sure you were ready for your eventual match. Know what I'm saying, boy?
(Rico nods.)
Colonel: So I compiled probable opponents and, well, voila.
Rico: Very nice. Keeping you around might just pay off.
Colonel: That's the plan.
Rico: So who do you think Reginald will choose?
Colonel: Well...
(Colonel taps the picture of Isamu.)
Colonel: If he, I say, if he wants to cash in on a quick buck, he'd pick Isamu who nearly beat ya, and now has your title...
Rico: That he didn't beat me for.
Colonel: Regardless, he'd be a fool not to try it and hope everyone came out to see you lose, son.
Rico: I made that mistake once. Who's next on the hit list?
Colonel: Hit list?
Rico: Maybe that's the only way to truly ensure I get this title. To make sure that the people gunning for me don't get out of the starting block. So, who else?
Colonel: Well, there's Blade and Chris Defoe, but I don't think they're seasoned enough. I truly, I say, truly think your competition will come from that man right there.
(Rico smiles and nods, chuckling to himself.)
Rico: The only other man to have shown Chambers that he doesn't fear him. The only other man on the roster with enough gall to spit in the mans face and watch it trickle down his chin.
Colonel: It's still not certain, but it's a good bet.
Rico: Well, there is history between he and I, so I really do hope that is the case.
(Rico chuckles some more as the scene begins to fade out. Before it does, the camera is able to view the picture that Rico and the Colonel were speaking of. A picture which should come as no surprise.
A picture of Chris Cyrus.)
(The scene opens up with a shot of a wrestling match playing out on a television screen. More specifically, it is the ending of the triple threat match to determine a number one contender to the APW Suicidal championship. The clip plays as Isamu Suzuki hits Jason Kash with a phoenix plex, eliminating him before beating J.D. Pierce fr the win. The clip continue as Pierce throws Kash to the outside and drives him down onto the concrete, before Suzuki hit's a skytwister press on the outside. The clip is paused on Jason Kash being loaded onto a stretcher.)
"That seemed like a fitting end to what can only be described as a failure of a beginning to your career in these parts, Jason."
(The camera pans out to see Rico Casteel sitting on a black leather couch watching the television in what looks to be a den. Resting beside him on the couch is the APW Heavyweight championship.)
"I guess this is where you expect me to welcome you back to APW, right? This is where you expect me to talk about how much promise you had, and how much hunger you showed in the one match that you bothered to take seriously. Right? This is where I'm supposed to give your ego a stroke that even Shane Borderland can't compete with, just so you can feel...special. Right, Jason?
"But that's not how I operate, especially toward someone who couldn't even take a title opportunity seriously. Toward someone that did nothing but flip-flop from one side to the other before finally deciding to prove his worth before fucking off into the sunset never to be heard from.
"Which is why that..."
(Rico motions to the frozen television screen with his thumb.)
"Is a fitting way to send out a sack of shit like yourself.
"A sack of shit that only remembers what he wants to remember. I don't deny that I kept calling you out about the War Games match, but it was never for the reasons that you mentioned. I didn't mind not being added to the match, Jason, because I preferred my spot in the battle royal. The reasons I called you out was because of your words afterward, those few times you actually managed to pull your head out of the kush long enough to slur something together.
"When you and that worthless maggot Nate Bishop kept boasting about how you two were the reasons that IWC won. How James Chambers was just there to draw in the names, and that it was the two of you that really made it tick. Of course, you change your tune now, but that's because you think that no one would remember. You think that we would have all forgotten about the parade you two had, creating your own titles because you couldn't win them on your own, fighting only in the matches that you thought you deserved to fight in.
"But I didn't forget. In fact, I was quite upset that I didn't get a chance to beat you around from corner to corner for the shit that you were spouting out."
(Rico grins wide.)
"But now I get that chance. Now I am able to make you eat your own teeth for everything you did, or better yet, didn't do back when you first graced us with your lack of presence.
"I'm sure you'll have some sort of excuse right? Some sort of reason why you just disappeared, only coming back to get your ass handed to you. But quite frankly, I just don't care. Sure, you might be able to enlighten the people, but whether or not you explain yourself, I'm still going to treat you the same way. I'm still going to make your night in the Asylum one to always remember. No matter how high you get.
"But I guess I should give you credit, right? After all, you managed to entwine references of The Hulk and Porky Pig into a fairly ignorant little rant, and you managed to prove that the internet doesn't always reveal everything you want to know from it. You tried to find out anything you could about my past and failed. Why is that? In your opinion, the only answer is that it never happened. What you fail to realize is that there is probably a pretty good reason why it couldn't be found and why a company wouldn't want to be associated with me.
"Something that Google might not be able to tell you.
"That just lines up with everything else though. Like how you keep thinking that I am afraid of James Chambers, and thinking that you will be able to fill his shoes. But again, you're wrong. After all, when Chambers was falsely holding this title, who were the ones to actively seek him out? Chris Cyrus and Rico Casteel. Who were the ones constantly trying to get him in the ring, stopping at nothing until that goal was accomplished? Chris Cyrus and Rico Casteel. And we all know that neither of us would ever be doing that to get into the ring with you, Jason. I mean, I hated Chambers with a burning passion, sure, but even I know that you are simply blowing smoke about making me fear you. Even I know that you are simply living through that pipe twenty four seven.
"After all, there is a reason why I was in line for this title."
(Rico pats the Heavyweight title beside him.)
"A title that you will never come close to holding. Why? The answer is simple.
"You'll fuck it up.
"Just like you fucked up your first stint in the former IWC. And your foray onto Overdrive. And your return to IWC. And your silver platter title opportunity. And while you pride yourself on that Tap Out Title, I'm sure that you will fuck that up too, some how. Though, at least you can't do much worse than the former champion.
"And at least your math is right."
(Rico chuckles and slowly shakes his head.)
"But again we are let down. Though, this isn't just directed at you, it's directed at everyone that has ever stated that I could never beat James Chambers if my life depended on it. One on one, he and I have only fought one time, Jason. Once. He beat me because Cyrus got involved, no other reason. He scored a win in that tag match when Gary Busey ended up costing me the win. Then I picked up a win when Cyrus pinned him in the tag match a few weeks earlier. And at Mayhem, well, I'm sure you remember that I was never pinned.
"Yes Jason, I was never pinned to lose my title. I was never forced to submit to lose my belt. My Suicidal title was stolen from me.
"Which is why I figured it's alright for me to take the title that truly belongs to me. Why I figure this Heavyweight title would look better around my waist then around anyone elses. Because I did nothing but give James Chambers a battle each and every time we stepped into the ring together and each time I was robbed of the win. And then when he left, I was robbed of the title I would have won.
"Which is why you should consider yourself lucky, Jason.
"Not because you're getting a chance to prove yourself, and not because Reginald is hoping that you are able to stop the Loose Cannon from continuing his run of destruction. No, Jason, you should consider yourself lucky because you get to step into the ring with me when I might be at my angriest point ever since entering APW's ranks as a wrestler. All of the violence that I was going to unleash upon James at the last Asylum, will be directed solely onto you. The anger I feel after having my title taken from me by that sorry excuse of a General Manager, that is going to come straight at you.
"The violence is in the air, Jason, and this Loose Cannon will not stop until it has carved a path through whatever stands in it's way. And this week, it just so happens to be you. The four-twenty favorite. The loudmouth of the losers. The caste less who hopes to belong.
"To put it in layman's terms, Jason, the beating you received at War Games will be over matched by what I will do to you in the Asylum. You're little going away party that we saw earlier, will look like child's play.
"Though, at least you can take solace in the fact that you weren't just beaten by me, but that you were beaten by none other than the APW Heavyweight champion. A title that outshines yours, currently held by the true champion, and a champion that heavily outshines you."
(Rico stands up, slinging the title over his shoulder.)
"And I'm sure you will find that one written all over Google. People may say they like you more, but they know that I am the superior fighter."
(He smirks and chuckles as the scene fades to black.)
Rico: What's all this?
Colonel: Well that, I say, that is the preparation I have been doing for ya.
(Rico reaches down and picks up a sheet of paper and on it, is a picture of Isamu Suzuki.)
