OOC Note: I wrote this RP as a reply to BDC's first RP
The scene opens up backstage at Asylum, just hours before show time. We see Asylum backstage interviewer, Jack Spade, standing in front of the Test for the Best poster, with microphone in hand and the camera rolling
Jack Spade: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome at this time for a special exclusive interview for actionpackedwrestling.tk. Later tonight, this man will take on Chris “BDC” Defoe. I’m talking about the man who is self proclaim, “Simply Awesome” Chris Cyrus
Chris walks into scene with his wrestling pants on and a Test for the Best T-Shirt on
Chris: Thanks for having me here Jack, how have you been
Jack: Spade: You know how it is Chris, same crap, different day.
Chris: I hear ya
Jack: Chris, this Sunday at Asylum, there will be four qualifying matches where the winner will be entered into the Test for the Best tournament. In those four matches, you aren’t in any of them. How do you feel that you won’t be part of the tournament this year.
Chris: Its kind of a bummer, but I had my shots and one could argue that its time for someone else to have a turn. But one thing you need to remember Jack, the APW World Heavyweight Title is vacant. Rico can be walking around with the title, but that doesn’t make him the champion. I’m sure Reginald will be looking for another Number One Contender for the title to take on Rico Casteel at Test for the Best. And I just have to say, Who better than it the first man to have ever pinned former World Heavyweight Champion, James Chambers in this ring. Who better than the man who defeated James Chambers in a triple threat match. Who better than the man who gave current Overdrive Champion, Biggs, his first loss of the year after he defeated guys like Terry Marvin and Ryan Ruckus. Of course, I’m talking about me. I’m more than qualified for the job, I’m just throwing that out there and I’ll let the powers at be, chew on that while they make their final decision.
Jack: You are definitely qualified to be in that match. But lets focus on tonight Chris. Tonight, you take on BDC in his first match on Asylum. We can assume that his goal is to make an impact. What is going through your mind right now as the hours tick down to the match.
Chris: BDC is almost seven feet tall. Weighs over 300 pounds. This guy practically killed Matt Weatherlight two weeks ago. And I know how important a first match is. Yah, its not BDC’s first match ever in APW, but it’s a return, and a return match is just as important as a first match in a company. So I know what BDC is going through, I know what’s on his mind. The pressure is on him to make a big first impression. The pressure is on him to make a statement. I’ve seen a countless number of guys who’s stepped foot in an APW ring and went running home with their tails between their legs because they couldn’t make an impression in their first match. I know BDC is training hard to kick my ass and I’m ready for that. BDC is a season veteran, he knows what he has to do and what it takes to win. At one point the was one of the best in this business, but he may be taller and weighs more than me, but to me, that’s not a disadvantage on my part. His height and weight, those are just numbers to me. Because in the end, everyone is the same size when they are laid out on their back, and the only numbers that will matter to me is the One, Two, Three when I pin BDC’s shoulders to the mat.
Jack: Recently, BDC poke publicly about you, have you had a chance to hear what he had to say
Chris: Yah, I heard
Jack: I’m going to allow you the chance to respond to him. First….
Chris: Let me stop you right there Jack.
Chris takes the microphone from Jack’s hand
Chris: I’ll take it from here Jack, thanks.
Jack backs away out of camera view and brings begins to speak into the camera
Chris: BDC, I’ve had pleasure to listen to you run your mouth about me at a recent APW house show. And you, the man who’s suppose to be the all time greatest wrestler to shoot an in ring promo. I think Chris that your age is catching up with you old man, because what I saw in that promo, was a man living in the past.
Maybe back in the day, you we’re a great in ring promo guy, but all you did was insult the fans, the same fans who spend their hard earned cash to watch up wrestle, which allows President Jeff to pay your salary. Then you went on about how you we’re once great and then you tried insulting me, saying I’m not good enough. Lucky for me, what you said is doesn’t bother me cause I just dust it off my shoulder because I heard what you said time and time again. And time and time again, I prove those people wrong.
But back to you claiming to being the greatest, being a former EWC and HCW champion. I was never in EWC, and I’m glad I wasn’t, but word on the streets from people who we’re once there, EWC was as crooked as a Carnival game. You know, like a the game where you have to throw the ball through the hole, but the catch is that, the ball is too big for the hole, no matter how many times and how hard to throw, your not gonna win. So it makes me question BDC, how many of your wins or title wins we’re legit. Just throwing that out there, but I’m not here to question your career from Five, Six years ago. That was then, this is now. What happened then is irrelevant to what is happening now.
Right now, you can think of his match as the Past verses future. You may think you’re the big bad wolf again Chris, but the reality is, like many big men that I’ve faced, you’re a lot of bark but no bite. And your plans may be to destroy me, but you need to realize, where I may be smaller, its not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. And I’m going to do everything it takes for me to beat you tonight.
I saw your warm up match at the house show and I can’t say I was impressed. Why should I be, you faced a developmental guy. Who faced someone who isn’t even on the main roster. That was the first time in how long that you’ve had a match? I can tell you have some ring rust but I can also tell that after a few matches and you get back into your groove, you can be a force to be reckoned with, that’s is, if you last that long here.
Chris, you may have been a top dog back in the day in other promotions, but you need to realize, APW, isn’t like any other promotions, we are better with the best talent in the world. And now that your on Asylum, this show, is a whole lot different than Overdrive or any other show you’ve wrestled on. And Asylum, it’s the show I put on the map. Back when Asylum was part of the IWC brand, I was the star power of the show.
This match won’t be a walk in the park like you think it will be. I don’t think you know what your getting yourself into with me. I’ve highly doubt you’ve even taken the time to watch any of my matches. Your so full of yourself, its not even funny Chris. And its not you being confident, its just you being an arrogant ass. Its guys like you who I love to prove wrong. Its guys like you I love to put in their place and bring them back to reality.
Your goal here is just like everyone else’s, to be the champ. But your not going to use me as a stepping stone. You may think I’m one of those guys that gets put up against returning legends for an easy win. Well guess what Chris, you got it all wrong, I’m the guy that gets put against Legends so I can show them that they don’t have what it takes anymore.
Don’t underestimate me Chris. My accomplishment in APW are legit. I’ve done stuff in APW that no one else has ever done. People have been underestimating me my entire career, but BDC, you might think I’m at the same skill level as what The Hardcore Kid was, but that was years ago. I’m a hundred times better than what you think of me, and I don’t care if you want to believe it or not, but I know it, and the fans know it and that’s good enough for me. We share the common goal of being the World Heavyweight Title, and I know, if I want another shot at it, I need to beat you. And I will beat you Chris. I’m not going to stand here and blow smoke up your ass, saying how great you are, because your not as good anymore as you think you are. I’m not scared of you and I look forward to standing in the ring with you, looking you right dead in the eyes so you can see, Chris Cyrus is the real deal. Your game plan of making quick work of me, I hope that’s not the best you have, because its going to take a lot more than that if you want to beat a Triple crown APW champion and the greatest Xtreme Champion of all time.
Tonight Chris, I hope you bring your best to the ring, because when I beat you, I don’t want any excuses from you as to why you lost. The better man will win and the better man will be me. BDC, your past your prime and its time for you to let go of that little bit of hope you have left in being a house hold name again. Quit now and don’t ruin whatever legacy you have left. So get ready, your in for a rude awakening when I send you Send you Straight…To…Hell. Why? Because I’m Simply….AWESOME!
With that said, Chris drops the microphone and walks off as the scene fades to black.
The scene opens up backstage at Asylum, just hours before show time. We see Asylum backstage interviewer, Jack Spade, standing in front of the Test for the Best poster, with microphone in hand and the camera rolling
