The scene opens up at the 2011 E3 convention. E3 is a trade show for the video games industry. We are at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the Auditorium where the trailer for the next big game is about to be shown. Everyone is waiting in anticipation as the lights dim. The fans cheer as the letters “THQ” is flashes on the big screen in the back ground of the stage.
“A Dream is just a Dream” fades in on the screen and then fades out.
“Becoming a Megastar…..Is now a Reality”
fades in then fades out as “Thunder Kiss 65” by Rob Zombie begins to play and video game footage for the new “APW Overdrive Verses Asylum” begins to play. We see Level One giving Sally Talfourd the Level Advance. Biggs hitting the Frog Splash on Khaos. Even James Chambers hitting Chris Cyrus with a big knock out punch. As the footage ends, we see the release date flash on the screen
“Coming This Fall”
The video fades out and the crowd cheers as a man walks out onto the stage wearing a head set and a suit.
Kevin Tyler: Hello, I’m Kevin Tyler and I am one of the developers at THQ and this year we are ecstatic to bring you everyone, the newest Pro Wrestling game titled “Action Packed Wrestling, Overdrive Vs Asylum.’ Which will be available on the Xbox, PS3, PSP, Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo 3DS this fall.

Kevin: Now to help me talk a little bit more about this game, please welcome an APW Megastar who is a big gamer, please welcome, CHRIS CYRUS

Kevin: Thank you for being here with me to talk about this new wrestling game for APW.
Chris: it’s a pleasure Kevin. I had the honor to work with THQ in developing this game and to help make this game as realistic as possible. I’m a big fan of games, and even a bigger fan of wrestling, so it was a perfect fit to have me work with the great team of developers on this project.
Kevin: Chris brought some great ideas to the table which a many of them we’re implemented into the game. What are some of the feature we can expect in this game Chris.
Chris: As always, you will get your standard Singles, tag team, hardcore, battle royal, cage and ladder matches. We’ve added in a couple of our Xtreme match specialties such as the Blaze of Glory match where you must set your opponent on fire. We’ve added the Bed of Weapons match as well as a Taipei Death match. But one match that will be in this wrestling game that is not in any other wrestling game, and the one we are most excited for is, The Survive and Conquer match. This is one if not, the biggest match to take place in APW history. And the thing about this match, is we invite wrestlers from other companies to wrestle in this match. What we plan on doing is adding this match to our Online mode and we will host Survive and Conquer matches where you can enter in your created Megastar and face off against people from all over the world.
Kevin: There’s nothing better than wrestling in a royal rumble, cage match, street fight and a hell in a cell ladder match all in one match, that’s for sure. Now we don’t want to give away too much about this game, we still gotta leave a little element of surprise.
Chris: That’s right. But what I can talk about is the Hall of Fame mode. This is basically our story mode. You create your Mega Star and you battle him up the ranks and the ultimate goal, is to be an APW Hall of Famer. You will be able to wrestle in the Survive and Conquer match, The Test for the Best tournament, and maybe even main event Rasslemania. We got a few surprises in store for this mode that we don’t want to give away. But we can guarantee that this story mode will be something like you’ve never experienced before.
Kevin: This game sounds great. And that’s only scraping the surface of what to expect in this game. This is all we’re going to revel at this moment. In the upcoming week’s, we will reveal more about the game. But now, lets show a little game play action.

Chris: I know who I’m picking. Ha ha

Kevin: This might be a preview of what to expect this Sunday at Test for the Best.
Chris: Your right, it will be a preview because I’m going to win.
The select “Start match” and we watch the entrances which is getting a nice reaction from the crowd and then the match starts. The match goes on for about five minutes and then Cyrus is able to hit the Straight to Hell on Rico and covers for the victory.
Kevin: Good job Chris
Chris: I told you I would win, just like I’m going to win at Test for the Best and be the new APW World Heavyweight Champion.
Kevin: Like I mentioned, APW Overdrive Vs Asylum comes out this fall for all major consoles. The can promise that this will be the best Wrestling Video game so far. And Chris, I before we go, can you tell us about Test for the Best this coming Sunday
Chris: Test for the Best is an APW Pay Per View which will feature an 8 person tournament which will result an Overdrive Vs Asylum finals. Also on the show, I will be facing Rico Casteel for the Vacant World Heavy Weight Title, and I’m going to do everything in my power to beat this man so this fall, when you pick this game up, you will see me in the game with the championship around my waist. So check it out, its going to be a lot of fun.

Chris: So once again, I get a shot at the World Heavyweight Title. Its been 4 months since my last shot at the title, and I must admit, I didn’t expect to be hand picked by Reginald to take on Rico Casteel for the Vacated World Heavyweight Title at Test for the Best. But I am honored to be pick and I strongly believe I was the right person picked for this match. I mean, compare my career here, not only in APW, but here on Asylum to everyone else on the Asylum roster. I’m a triple crown champion. Longest Xtreme Champion, two time Tag Team Champion. I defeated former World Heavyweight Champion, James Chambers not one, but two different times. It was only fitting that I was also named the Number Contender, and this opportunity I’ve been given, I’m going to do everything I can to win that championship. And like that old saying goes, Third Times a charm.
But before I talk about Rico, I need to address a certain man, a man who’s been a thorn in my side for the past few weeks. I’m talking about The Gambler. At the last Asylum show, I was in a match with BDC. I had BDC beat. He was locked into the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring. He wasn’t going anywhere and he was ready to tap. And then what happens, you show up and you throw some kind of powder in my eyes. Blinding me and costing me the match. But what you done to me Gambler wasn’t enough to put me down because I’m getting a World Heavyweight Title shot at a Pay Per View that you didn’t even make the cut for. Every time Gambler to try to take me out, I still come out on top and get the last laugh. But here’s where things get interested Gambler.
I damn well know that you will be at Test for the Best, rooting for your boy toy Bobby Bodacious. And I know you will be keeping a close eye on my match. And I know you’ll be watching and waiting for the perfect time to get involved and cost me the World Heavyweight Title. But here’s the thing Gambler. You like Money right? What am I saying? Of course you do, you’re the Gambler. So in order to make Money Gambler, you gonna want me to win this match. Actually, your gonna NEED me to win this match. Because you see Gambler. The Pay Per View after Test for the Best, is Shockwave. The second biggest PPV of the Summer. And if I win the World Heavyweight Title, I’m going to give you the first shot at the title as long as an Asylum Megastar doesn‘t win the Test for the Best tournament. I bet that got your attention Gambler. I’ve wrestled at Shockwave before. I’ve been in high profile matches before. I know what the pay out is like, and believe me Gambler, you need me to win if you ever want to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Title, and be in a high profile match at Shockwave, or any Pay Per View for that matter. So I suggest Gambler, that at Test for the Best, if you think about getting involved in my match, you better think Long and Hard about the decision you will make. Because at the end of the day, with out me, you will be nothing but a loser.
But enough about The Gambler, now on to my opponent, Rico Casteel. Rico, last time we we’re in the ring together, we we’re a team and we defeated James Chambers and Isamu Suzuki. Well actually, I got the win for us. But Rico, When I couldn’t get the job done in taking the title from James Chambers, you we’re next in line to step in, and so far, you’ve done just as good of a job than I have. But just because you stole the World Heavyweight Title, don’t make you the champion. Because one thing you fail to realize Rico is that this championship opportunity is different than my other two title shots. Because you see before, I was trying to win the title for myself. To prove everyone wrong about me. But now, I have fan support. This time, I’m doing it for them. Since James has left us, the APW Asylum Faithful haven’t had someone to look up to and to get behind. But now, that I’ve seen the light, and realize that the fan support has made me happier than I have been in the past couple years, I’m going to win this for them, as my token of apology to them.
And you might think I’m a fool Rico for thinking I can beat you. I know you have a high opinion of yourself. And I won’t deny your skills. I mean, you we’re the first Suicidal Champion. You’ve proven that you’re a threat in the ring. But one thing I know you don’t know, because I doubt you’ve done your research on me, but here’s a little bit of APW trivia knowledge for you. Test for the Best, its MY Pay Per View. I am Undefeated at Test for the Best. Even though I’ve never competed in the Test for the Best tournament, I’ve done something better than wrestling in some tournament. Every year since APW has opened, I’ve walk out of Test for the Best, As a Champion. Don’t believe me, go look it up. In 2008, Jason Royce and I defeated Diana Steel and APW Hall of Famer, Spirit for the Tag Team Titles for my first Championship win. In 2009, I humiliated Assassin in defending the Xtreme Championship. Not only did I beat him, I beat him with out using a single weapon and you can say that the Headlock Nation began in that match. And then Last year at Test for the Best, I became a Triple Crown Champion when I destroyed Mark Moment in becoming the Overdrive Champion. You might call it a coincidence, but I call it Fate. Its my destiny to become the World Heavyweight Champion. I’ve walked out of Test for the Best three years in a row as a champion and I expect this year to be no different.
This Sunday Rico, It will be my time in the spot light. Its been far too long since Chris Cyrus has held a title. Its been far too long since there’s been a Chris Cyrus era. I’ve been in APW since day one and its time to give the people what they want, Chris Cyrus as your World Champion. Its my time Rico. Its my time to be on top. Its time people show me the respect I deserve. You may be bigger and stronger Rico, but that doesn’t scare me because I know I can beat you.
