A week removed from Test for the best where four time APW heavyweight/Undisputed champion Lester ''Level-One'' lost his title to Biggs, the APW has been working tirelessly to come to an agreement of a new contract as Lester Only's two year deal he had signed in July 2009 has come to an end.
''We're working something out with Lester Only.'' Said President Jeff. ''Like any of your top stars when they hit the market everyone is trying to get their hands on them, especially with someone as popular as Lester Only. We will be doing everything in our power to ensure that Lester Only remains under the APW and overdrive banner.''
The feeling is mutual says Lester Only, who we spoke to over telephone earlier this morning.
''As always, I'm eager to get into the ring after a loss. Biggs, he caught me.'' Lester only explained. ''I'm convinced that in a rematch he won't be so lucky, maybe we can do something special like a last man standing match or a ''I quit'' stipulation—something that he can't use to cheat and leverage himself over me, again. I am fully prepared to re-sign with the APW, long term. We're just going through a few kinks, right now in the process.''
When asked about how he felt about Biggs new reign as champion, he congratulated him.
''What can I say, he beat me. It didn't prove anything, but he he beat me and that's a fact. However unless, I drop several matches straight and do the ''sally talfourd'' any notion that I don't have it left in me or I have been surpassed by anyone should be laughed at, pathetically. I am still the best in the world and Biggs isn't even a real champion until he defends his title. Unfortunately, it isn't going to be against me.''
It is expected that an agreement should be accepted by the deadline which falls on this weeks Thursda Night Overdrive show.
