On the Road Again

[The scene opens up in Indianapolis International Airport, the day after Overdrive. Nathaniel Havok is standing at a service counter for Delta Airlines, and is talking to a ticket agent. He pounds on the desk, startling everybody around him.]
Havok: NO! You’re going to get me the hell out of here! NOW!
[In the distance, we see a female rushing up to the counter. We now see Sally Talfourd, as she grabs Nathaniel by the collar, and begins to drag him away. The two make their way from the counter, over to a near-by rest area. Nathaniel breaks Sally’s grip on his collar and now faces her head on.]
Havok: Stop! What the hell is wrong with you?
Sally: That’s not how you do it, Nathaniel!
Havok: So you want this not to work? I’m trying to get us the hell out of here!
Sally: Listen, I’d already be on my way to Asylum right now. Instead, I decided to meet you here, so we could travel together. But, you’re not going to get anywhere anytime soon by yelling at that girl! Nathaniel, I’m in this just as much as you are! We’ll get there eventually, just be patient!
[Nathaniel scoffs and turns away from Sally. Sally once again grabs Nathaniel by the collar, and swings him back around.]
Sally: Listen, when we talked on the phone, we both agreed that we were going to make the best of this! So, let’s not slouch on our first day! All we need to do is find a way out of here.
Havok: Okay, so how are we supposed to get out of here?
Sally: I don’t know! You’re the one who grew up in this town, not me! Get us out of here!
Havok: Okay, fine. Let’s go.
[The two walk out of sight, and out of the terminal area as the scene fades out.]

[The scene opens up, seemingly later in the evening Friday. We find ourselves inside of a small mom-and-pop diner in Only-God-Knows-Where town. The cameras zoom in to see Nathaniel Havok and Sally Talfourd, enjoying a meal together.]
Havok: Took them long enough, wouldn’t you say?
Sally: Look around this joint, Havok. They’re busy! Give it a rest why don’t you?
[The two chow down on some food, sharing an awkward silence.]
Sally: So, what are you thinking?
Havok: Well, I’m pretty swamped. If you want to just call it a night, we can stop at a hotel.
Sally: Sounds like a plan, I’m pretty tired myself. But, I was talking about BDC and Casteel.
Havok: Oh, that.
[Havok chuckles.]
Havok: Sorry, they’re harmless. So much so, that I had already forgotten about them. Must have thought we had the week off.
Sally: Don’t go underestimating them now, Havok. We don’t want these two to get the better of us.
Havok: Trust me, I know. You don’t build a legacy like BDC has, and get underestimated. Furthermore, you don’t become a World Heavyweight Champion, and get underestimated. However, that doesn’t mean that I respect them. Look at BDC, just another big, dumb oaf! In my opinion, BDC is nothing more than the original Jacob Whitehead of Action Packed Wrestling. He’s big, he’s bad, he’s a God damn fraud! Sure Sally, yeah, he’s back now. But, how many times does that make this again?
Sally: Your guess is as good as mine.
Havok: And Rico? Come on, now. Some fluke championship victory he had. I’m sure you’ll be addressing that situation soon, right?
Sally: Who knows.
Havok: We both know better than that Sally. Come on.
[Sally smirks at Nathaniel, who chuckles, almost as if he’s enjoying himself.]
Havok: Whether anybody likes it or not, Sally, this is only the beginning of the end for Chris and Rico. Truth is Sally, no matter what it is that they try, it’s still going to be a failed attempt on their part. Face it, there’s nothing they can do. You and me together? If we can make this work, we can beat any team that we want to. On any given night! But back to BDC riding the coattails of the World Heavyweight Champion.
Sally: You think so?
Havok: I know so. Think about it, it only makes sense. Rico becomes champion, and now Defoe wants to make friends and play nice with him? Chris Defoe is a fraud. He picked the fist man he saw have a good match. Defoe is getting a bit up there in the age department, it might be the fact that APW doesn’t offer him vision insurance. But don’t worry, riding Rico’s coattails isn’t going to get him anywhere! Especially since they’ve got the two most dangerous APW Mega-stars ready to tear their heads clean off, this Sunday night! And from there, it’s only going to get worse and worse.
[The two continue to eat, until Nathaniel breaks the silence.]
Havok: He needs to retire, that’s what he needs to do. Retire and get out while he still has a nice chunk of his health. But, I get the feeling that they’re going to make us put Old Yeller down, once and for all, Sunday night.
Sally: I think the old dog might still have some fight left in him.
Havok: Well, let’s take it out of him then!
Sally: Don’t get too cocky, Nathaniel. It’s never that easy.
Havok: It will be for us. Sally, if I’m going to do this, I want to make this work. We’ve got our shot at Kash and Borderland for the Tag Team Championships. I’ve never passed up a chance for gold, and I always get the gold that I’m after. Look at Diamante! A man that you’ve recently been interlinked with. I wanted him, and said it right from the start. I beat him in the middle of the ring, and now I’ve got him. I’ve got him for his title! Soon, it’s going to be mine! That’s why I suggest that you focus on Rico. He’s got something that I know you’re going to eventually want. So why not get an early start? You leave big BDC to me. I’ve got a little something in mind for Mr. Defoe.
Sally: Oh yeah? And what might that be?
Havok: Well, do you remember what we talked about on our journey through airport security?
Sally: The move?
Havok: Exactly. I want Mr. Defoe to be personally introduced to…
…”The move”.
[The two smirk at each other as the scene fades out.]

[It’s a rainy night, and the cameras come in outside of a small hotel. Havok and Sally can be seen standing outside of the hotel, while Havok enjoys a smoke.]
Sally: You know, you really shouldn’t do that. It’s bad for your health.
Havok: You know Sally, people have been telling me that for years. I’ve learned to look at it like this…
…In today’s economy, I’m just creating job security by smoking this product. Besides, would you rather me smoke a cigarette, or go out to create job security for some drug dealer in the area?
Sally: Neither, as a matter of fact.
Havok: Bummer, I was kind of hoping that you were holding out. Maybe we could spark one up and start singing Bob Marley tunes.
Sally: I’d rather not.
Havok: Well, you’re no fun.
[Havok flicks his cigarette into the street. It’s distinguished right away by the puddles of water in the road. The two walk into the hotel and head straight for the counter. It seems as if someone is on break, as no one is there to greet them. Sally rings the bell to call for service, and then looks at Havok.]
Sally: So, you’re ready for them, right?
Havok: Sally, where have you been? I was born ready.
Sally: Seriously, Havok. I don’t want anything to go wrong.
Havok: Don’t worry Sally, you’ll get wrinkles. We wouldn’t want that to happen now, would we?
[Sally smirks at Havok, as she knows he’s being a smart-ass.]
Havok: Don’t worry about Defoe and Casteel. I mean, besides, I have no clue how any man named Rico, could ever be taken seriously as a World Heavyweight Champion. Come on, I just want someone to tell me that Rico is just a really lame-ass nickname! Otherwise, I’m going to have to kick his ass Sunday night, just because of his name! There’s principal to the situation, Sally. And a man named Rico, doesn’t fit the bill for kicking my ass.
Sally: I think that you should be more concerned with the man though, rather than the man’s name.
Havok: That might be true, Sally. That could very-well be true. However, it keeps me motivated. Getting my ass kicked by a man named Rico, is just as bad as getting your ass kicked by a boy named Sue! I can’t let it happen, Sal! I’m not going to let it happen. Therefore, I’ll use it as motivation. It will be a crippling motivation for Rico Casteel. But like I said, I’ll leave him to you, if you want him.
Sally: Oh trust me, I’ll want to get my hands on him. But make no mistake, Havok, I want BDC too.
Havok: I figured. But I also wanted to go ahead and give you the option.
Clerk: Hello, there! How may I help, help, help you?
[Nathaniel looks creeped out, as Sally looks on amused.]
Havok: You can start by taking the perky-level down a notch or two RuPaul, We need two rooms, the best you’ve got.
[The young man stares at Sally and Havok, with a strange look on his face.]
Havok: What? Did you hear me?
Clerk: Separate rooms? Did you have a fight?
Havok: Actually, we’re not lovers. Not that it’s any of your business Michelle Man-Butt, but we’re tag team partners.
Clerk: Oh, are you now? I love to tag te…
Havok: Shut up, and give us two room keys.
[The young man turns to the wall behind him and grabs two keys off of the rack. Nathaniel snatches them as fast as he can, and walks away.]
Clerk: Sir, but sir, you forgot to check in!
[Havok and Sally continue to walk away.]
Havok: Shut up, Adam Lambert! I’ll set things straight[/I] with whoever is here in the morning.[/color]
[The young man at the coutner seems offended, as Sally and Nathaniel fade out of site. They get into the elevator to head up to their rooms.]
Sally: You know Nathaniel, I’m actually glad we did this.
Havok: Well, if we’re going to be a team, we need to act like a team. BDC and Rico, they’re a team. We need to be as sharp as we can be, then and only then will we achieve what we’ve set out to become.
Sally: You make it sound so easy, even though we both know it’s not. Nevertheless, BDC and Rico will just be one of many teams that will fall to us.
Havok: Damn right, Sally. I guess… I guess I’m glad we got paired. It could be worse, right? I could have gotten Branden Harvey in that drawing! Instead of heading to Asylum right now, I’d probably be heading to jail, for killing him!
Sally: True, very true.
[The elevator doors swing open, and the two walk out into the hallway. They check their room keys for their room numbers, and begin to walk separate ways.]
Havok: I’ll see you tomorrow. Remember, think about Rico and BDC so much, that you dream about them tonight!
Sally: And I’m sure you’ll be dreaming about me.
[Nathaniel chuckles.]
Havok: Probably.
[The two smile and walk separate ways as the scene fades.]
