Scene opens up at the Dakota Magic Casino, which straddles the North & South Dakota border. Gambler, with the APW Suicidal Championship by his side, is playing a video version of Monopoly. An anonymous voice from behind the camera speaks up.
Unknown voice
Um, shouldn’t you be getting ready for your title defense, Gambler?
Gambler
Why? I’m only facing Cyrus. I’ve owned that punk for the last several months.
Unknown voice
Still, you’ll want to get to St. Paul in the near future.
Gambler
Dude, it’s a 45 minute flight by charter plane. Buddy of mine will just pick me up on Saturday evening. There’s a small airport, just outside of Wahpeton. It’ll take an hour, tops. Beats the 5 hour drive. Besides, I’m about to hit the jackpot on this game. I want to bank that half mil before defending the gold.
Unknown voice
Still, you’re in a Deuces Wild match. Any stipulation is possible. You could end up in a street fight, an inferno match or even a loser leaves town scenario.
Gambler
(annoyed voice)
That’s not a nice thing to say. You know APW won’t risk Cyrus’ career. He’s made too much money for them. No way they’ll risk him.
Unknown voice
You really do believe in taking risks, making huge gambles, don’t you?
Gambler
Damn right! Go big or go home. How do you think the big shots of the world make it? By stressing out? Hell no! They see an opportunity and they take it. That’s what I’m doing. I just need to wait for Cyrus to screw up royally. When he does, and believe me, he will, I’ll be all over him like a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat. Cyrus is a punk. Always has been. Always will be. I really hope there’s a Loser Leaves Town stipulation. Lousy punk can be spared his from his misery, once and for all.
Now let me have some fun. Got a lot of money riding on this game.
Gambler shoos off the camera crew as the scene comes to an end.
