"Sally Talfourd presents..."
is written across the screen, fades out, then
"In association with Action Packed Wrestling"
is written across the background, fades out to a shot of the always beautiful Sally Talfourd; not atop majestic and sweeping hills. She's indoors. In a Hong Kong gym, infact. I really love how APW moves around the world, taking their product to the lesser-visited corners of the world. So does Sally, too. Loves seeing her loving and adoring fans worldwide. Who wouldn't? Admired by millions. Idolized by more. You've got the desire to do the absolute best that you can just to make sure that all their hopes are rewarded. She's dressed down in her training gear- trainers, sweat-shirt (rather sweaty at the moment from the training), some figure-hugging sweats with 'Happy Ending' emblazoned across the butt (as if you needed a reason to look!). She sits on the bench that she's resting at, taking some deep, refreshing drinks from a waterbottle.
[Sally] Take your time.
[Shane] What do you mean? I'm only six minutes late!
[Sally] Do you know how many extra miles on the treadmill six minutes is!?
[Shane] Why didn't you just get off?
[Sally] I wasn't about to just, you know, sit around and do nothing while I waited! I had to do something. Be on time next time!
[Shane] That go for both of us? Because I remember you were three days late for our episode filming once.
[Sally] I told you then: I have no control over my sleeping patterns. Sometimes, I just sleep in.
[Shane] You slept in...for three days? *Sally gives Shane a blank stare, as if to say “Doesn't everyone?”*[/i] Not even going to ask what you did before that. I don't want to know.[/color]
[Sally] Good. I wouldn't tell you. You'd get jealous. *Sally takes another drink*[/i] I tell you what you can ask me though, Shano.[/color]
[Shane] What?
[Sally] You have three options: Ask me about my team; Ask me about my opponents, or; Ask me about my match. Those are your options. *Sally gives Shane a cunning glare, playful*[/i] Choose wisely![/color]
[Shane] Hmmm. Difficult. I know you'll put me to sleep no matter what...
[Sally] Rude!
[Shane]... so I'll ask you about your match. That's probably the most interesting.
[Sally] Good choice, grasshopper. *Sally sits up, throws her bottle away*[/i] The match this week is of the utmost importance! Know why, Shane? *The camera shakes side-to-side*[/i] Didn't think so. It's about momentum. The big mo'. Who can get it? The elimination chamber match is coming up. *Sally raises her hand as if to point to the far-off distance*[/i] It's looming there on the horizon, like storm clouds or a double-rainbow of doom. It's on everyone's mind. The people laying awake at night thinking...planning...plotting how to win the match, are in the main event this week. And three people can say, at the pay per view, they've already beat half the competition already. Can lay claim to the fact that they've already figured out what it takes to beat a Morrison or a Kash or a White. I know that's what this match is about for me: Momentum. Getting it. Using it to win the chamber. Momentum gets the job done. Think about this: 2010. One Night in Hell. Level-One is World Heavyweight Champion. Unbeatable. Sally Talfourd. She's got momentum, winning all sorts of matches leading up to it. Sally goes in as number one entrant. Sally dominates. Sally out-wrestles. Sally already knows what everyone brings to the table. Sally leaves as world champion. If someone wants to tell me momentum doesn't count, I'll tell them that they need to learn a thing or two.[/color]
[Shane] Momentum doesn't count for anything.
[Sally] Shane, I'd tell you to learn a thing or two, but it really isn't enough. Try two million! *Sally rolls her eyes at Shane*[/i] Anyway, this match is important. It's not a chance to show off and dazzle and amaze. It's a chance to actually wrestle. Perfect the craft and art as much as you can before going into a match where it's combination of wrestling and violence. Perfect the wrestling part now, you only have to worry about the the nasty weapons floating around when the match comes. *Sally taps her temple with a knowing wink*[/i] One less thing to worry about. You see, it's all about thinking ahead. Think one move ahead. One pinfall ahead. One three-count ahead. The person who does that best, wins. The person who does that worst? Well, they end up like Kash...or White...or Morrison.[/color]
[Shane] Well, your opponents- you brought them up. What about them?
[Sally] See: Already thinking ahead! Thinking about the next important thing after the match: Opponents. Here's a chance to learn about this motley crew in a better way than I could hope for. You see, for as stupid as those three loons are, I know that they want momentum too. They want to have the bragging right of having a rare win over Sally Talfourd too. So they will be fighting in this match with everything they've got. They want to win. And they will wrestle to win. Because of that, I'll get a good measure of what they're like. Do you think I'll have time to take everyone's measure inside the chamber? Heck no! I'll be lucky to learn what their favourite colour is with all the violence and action inside a chamber match! But I need to know just what they are all capable of when it comes to the actual wrestling part. Because you can't win a chamber match without it. You still have to pin a person to win. At least one, maybe five others. The person who can pull that out, they've got the match won. Ignore it. Contradict it. Lie about it. Anyone who knows how to win a match like that knows it means wrestling. They'll have to bust out the wrestling moves. They'll want to warm up, and they'll want to win this week. Now's my chance to make a measure of these three men and figure out what they can do. What can they do this week, and then figure out what they'll be able to do the next time.
[Shane] So this is, really, a test run.
[Sally] Well, partly. It's also a chance for me to see where I'm at, you know, physically. I need to know where my body is at before the chamber. *Sally goes to talk again, but pauses. She's recalling her last chamber match and what it did to her. The bubbles and smiles drain away from her face*[/i] I know what happens to you, in a match like that. I know how much pain- unrelenting pain- a match like that will cause. I need to know where I am. I need to know what I am capable of. A smart wrestler takes into account their limitations. I'm a smart wrestler. *Sally shoots a glare at Shane; a look that says 'Shut it'*[/i] This match is for me to really push myself. Find out where my limits are. That way, I can accentuate the positives. I'll know I won't we death-on-legs in the last pairing. So this week, all my fans and haters alike can expect me to go out and put on a masterpiece of technical wrestling. Tight holds. Harder impacts. Flowing movements. All to push myself to my very best. And, really, if I'm out there wrestling my best...which of Kash or Morrison or White could possibly keep up with me? My best got me a world title before. If any of them could match-up with me, then they'd be former APW champions too. But no, they're all wannabes up against a 'been there, done that' girl. And besides, the biggest threat is already on my team.[/color]
[Shane] Rico?
Sally nods, with a wry grin across her face. She pulls off her shirt from her back (it was starting to cling), then smooths down the top of her hair into her pony-tail (nothing fancy for training in that department). She swings around on the bench to be leaning on her knees, closer to Shane and the camera.
[Sally] Rico- the man that we are all after. I get to be in his corner. I get to study him in a way that no one else- other than Knoxville- gets to. I get to hear him talk tactics. Get into his mind. Watch him as if I were him. Now's where the match really gets important. It's not just a chance to get momentum. It's not just a chance to learn about some of my opponents. It's not just a chance to learn about myself. It's a chance to learn about the champion that we are all trying to beat. A chance to walk in his shoes for thirty, fourty minutes. And with the perspective and the information I get from that? There's no way I can be beaten in the chamber. So this match, my eyes are going to be open wide, my ears listening to everything, and that sixth sense that every wrestler has- I'm going to be learning more and more about the man I so desperately want to beat. So here, in the match, I'm going to give Rico everything I've got. I'll cheer him. I'll support him. I'll cover his back. And when you see it, you'll think I've lost it. But it's not because I love the guy. *Sally tisk-tisk's, shakes her head at the camera*[/i] It's because I want to learn about the guy. I want him to think he's the best in the ring so that he tries and matches that. I want to see him wrestling at his best so that I can see what he's like. And I want to see him in full flight so that I can start to plan how to cut him off before he even gets there next time![/color]
[Shane] And as for Tommy?
[Sally] What about him?
[Shane] Well, he's in both matches. Aren't you trying to learn about him?
Sally lets out a defeated sigh, a slump of the shoulders, and rolling of the eyes.
[Sally] I guess so. I mean, someone had to be the third member this week if only to make everyone think that the chamber isn't just going to be the 'Rico Versus Sally Show'. Tommy will be useful, this week, in his own way. Namely, I'll actually see him in the ring. I have to admit...*Sally's voice drops to a whisper*[/i]...I don't usually watch his matches. I mean, I wish him all the best in APW. But his style? His persona? His...reputation? Not exactly anything that takes my fancy. I mean, what he stands for? What he represents? The complete opposite of who I am. I don't judge the guy- all the best to him! But that's what I think, and that's what I'm expecting to learn. But if he wants to prove me wrong- if he wants to say (in between drags on his joint) “Hey Sally, I might be as high as a kite but I can fly higher than you in any match!” then this is his week to prove it. And I'll be watching close enough to see what it is he can exactly do. *Sally stands up, the camera follows her so that she looms over it*[/i] I'll be watching closely to see what everyone can do.[/color]
Sally gives a cute wink to the camera, the wanders off, back to her training. The scene fades out to a long hold on a blank, black screen, then
“Sally Talfourd”
is written across the screen as the episode comes to a close.
