is written across the background, fades out to a shot of the rolling Lantau Island, the green hills and mountains, unspoiled forests, and the occasional hiking track. Wait, why are we looking at this? Well, for the less-traveled, Lantau Island is the island right next to the reclaimed land that makes up the island that hosts the AsiaWorld Arena. Yes, there wasn’t enough flat land to build on so the government just started filling in the ocean. But Lantau is au naturel- a real island. And right at the very top of one of the peaks, behind the largest mountain that there, is the Po Lin Monastery comprised of the largest Buddha statue in the world. Anyway, this isn’t much of a history lesson, more of a promo. So the shot swings round, and off over the hill is the giant Buddha. Nearer to the shot, sits the beautiful and contemplative Sally Talfourd. Contemplative because she sits on this one lone boulder, perched at the edge of a cliff. The weather at this time of year is warm, yet breezy as the typhoons are still rolling around. This breeze carries Sally’s hair behind her, making her look like she could be the subject of some 1800s Romanticism painting.
[Sally] I’ve traveled around the world with this whole wrestling gig. And I can’t help but think that this might be the best spot my travels have ever taken me.
Sally looks over to the camera with a smile- peaceful and content. Then she looks back out at the view, one of the bays off in the distance.
[Sally] So this week, what a match right? All the elimination chamber people in the ring at the same time? That’s bound to get people into the arena. Sell tickets. Get ratings. It really will- a preview of the huge main event that One Night. I wish I were a fan to see this from an outsider’s position. But no, have to go into that ring and try and navigate my way through two men I will be fighting with next time…but need to work with this time? *Sally casts a look over at Shane*[/i] What do you rate my chances of doing that, Shane?[/color]
[Shane] If anyone could do it, Sally…
[Sally] If anyone could do it, they’d have to have some of the best skills this business has ever seen. I mean, I’ve got a well-known pot-head backing me up. Now, *Sally holds her hands up in defense*[/i] I’m not one to judge. You know, do what you want to do inside your own home so long as it isn’t hurting anyone. But I can’t help but think Knoxville might be running to a slower clock than Rico and me. And, speaking of him, Rico- the guy who probably feels a wee bit threatened by me and my being on Asylum. The guy who would benefit the most from me not being all too fit come the elimination chamber. I have to trust him in this match. *Sally lets out an exasperated sigh*[/i] I suppose it could be worse- I could be teaming with the others.[/color]
[Shane] And what’s wrong with them?
[Sally] It’s what they do. They don’t…they don’t do ‘it’. They don’t do ‘it’ right. What you need to do in this business to become number one. There’s, like, rules. And there’s a way to do things. There’s an ‘it’, and none of them do it. Not Kash, not White, not Morrison. There’s a way, and they don’t do it. *Sally looks around, to the camera, then over the other side and spots the giant Buddha*[/i] You know, over there, they learn about rules to life. They learn about a way to live. And, funnily enough, it’s exactly the same to getting ahead in this business. It’s the Eight Fold Path, and it starts with the ‘Right Understanding’. You need to know that there’s always going to be a difference between what you are, and what you desire to be. Listen to Morrison, and how he says he should be the World Heavyweight Champion. Really? *Sally looks at the camera, a sarcastic look taking over her face*[/i] He thinks he’s something that he really isn’t. He thinks he’s like me, but the fact is he isn’t. And the quicker you come to terms with that, Mike, the quicker you’ll have the ‘Right Understanding’ for this business.[/color]
[Shane] What’s next?
[Sally] Ah, that’s the ‘Right Thought’. It’s choosing the right way of thinking- the way that brings peace and tranquility, not desire and suffering. *Sally looks out over the hills again*[/i] Kash would best be served to take on this one- that is if his brain isn’t smokier than smoked jerky. Every time he speaks about himself, we all get to hear another rant about how he deserves to be the world champion. Desire. He talks about what he would do for Asylum, for APW. Suffering. He talks about just how great he is and how it’s about time he got the proper recognition that he deserves, and what he will do to get it. Desire for him and suffering for us! *Sally looks back to the camera, stark fear across her face*[/i] Could you imagine Asylum if he won that elimination chamber match? I’ve got to make sure he doesn’t get even a whiff of confidence, or any momentum, going into it. He needs to lose this week and I’m damn well going to make sure he knows that he stands no chance at beating me after this week.[/color]
Then we have the ‘Right Speech’- the spreading of right and proper ideas. And, of course, you need not go further than your’s truly to find out what the ‘Right Speech’ is. I mean, yes I was a bitch. But I’ve changed. And now? Now all I want is to tell the world just how good APW is. Just how great Asylum truly is. I get on a stage, and people listen. I get on a stage after winning back the world title? Everyone listens. I want the momentum of this match, going into the chamber, to make sure that everyone knows to get out of my way. I win this week, I’m putting a streak together. I get the momentum, and I win the title. Then I can do as I’ve been saying all this time. Making good wrestling, good people, and a good reputation the image of APW again. I need Rico and Knoxville to help me this week with that- and that’s fine. I can handle them for an hour or so; however long it takes to win this match this week. And I’ll talk about the right and proper ideas now, the same way I’ll talk about them if I become champion. The right ideas. The fact that no one person is bigger than the company. That no one is more important than the rest. That personal achievement is less important than this company achieving. *Sally laughs to herself* Can you imagine anyone from the other team saying that’s what they’re righting for? That’s what they want to win for? That’s what they want to see? Of course not! And that’s because they don’t have the ‘Right Speech’.[/color]
[Shane] What comes after 'Speech'?
[Sally] Well, it's the 'Right Action' and the 'Right Livelihood'- which for professional wrestlers like us, they're the most important. Are you doing the right thing is really the question here. Is what you do good for everyone? Rico, Tommy and me? While we won't be getting together for parties and drinks next week, are doing the right thing this week. What we're doing is, above all, right. We go out there, we wrestle, and we win. That's the best thing because it will give me the best chance of winning the world title back. That's the right thing- having Sally Talfourd the face of APW. The moral compass of this place. So by going out and wrestling hard, competitively, and strong, Rico and Tommy will have the 'Right Action' and the 'Right Livelihood' for this week. And they will be doing their part for me. So I can't really besmirch them much this week. Sure, they have their faults. But I have to try and ignore them to get out the win. Because one win leads to momentum. And momentum leads to more wins.
[Shane] Ok Sally, round out the eight for us.
[Sally] Well the next three, they combine well to describe exactly what our opponents don't have this week: The 'Right Effort', the 'Right Mindfulness', and the 'Right Concentration'. It's all to do with the mind, and how powerful the mind is in situations like this. How well can you focus? How long can you maintain your focus? And how strong a focus do you have? I could ask Kash or White or Morrison those three questions and not only would they not know what to say, but they wouldn't even know who I am! The mind of a wrestler is not a mind that is easily found. But the mind of a world champion is even rarer. What they have to do this week, those three, is face off against two world champions, and someone who is a step closer to being one than they will ever be! Rico and I alone have the focus and the concentration and the metal strength to actually become world champions in APW. We've done it. We have strengthened our minds through our experience. Now we're preparing ourselves to be as strong as we can. This match is a chance for us to get our minds ready for what will be a testing and exhausting match. We'll be able to handle it, because we have the 'Effort', 'Mindfulness' and the 'Concentration. Those other three? They can only wish to one day get what we have up here *Sally taps her temple*[/i] because they sure as heck don't have it now!
[Shane] And the lucky last?
[Sally] That's easy, and it sums up me perfectly: The 'Right Knowledge and Liberation'. You only get these through experience: Not seeing things as others want you to see, and not seeing things as they appear to be, but seeing things by knowing them. And you only know them from experience. I know that this isn't a regular match. I also know what the chamber match is. I know what my partners are. I know what my opponents are. But most of all– and no one in my match knows this- I know what I am. I am a wrestler. I am a champion. I am Sally Talfourd. *Sally smiles to the camera*[/b] You only get these last qualities when you have all the others. *Sally turns to look at the camera*[/b] And when you have all of these qualities, do you know what you have?[/color]
