The scene opens up down town Hong Kong. Its Friday afternoon and the APW Suicidal Champion, Chris Cyrus is walking around town, looking at buildings as he’s looking for something.
Chris: It has to be around here somewhere.
Chris pulls out a piece of paper from his pocket and matches the address on the paper with the building.
Chris: Here we are. The Hong Kong School of Hard Knox.
Chris opens the door of this old Hong Kong building. As he steps him, he sees a wide open room with a wrestling ring in the middle of it, which a few people training. An older man greets Chris at the door.
Man: You Chris Cyrus?
Chris nods his head
Man: We’ve been expecting you. Master Xing is over here, follow me.
Chris follows the man as they walk across the room and to the other side. A few of the wrestlers in this gym, I guess you could call it that, keep their eyes on Chris, unsure as to why an american is in their gym.
Man: Master Xing, Chris Cyrus is here.
Xing: Sit down. Thank you Yang, you may go now.
Chris takes a seat in front of Master Xing.
Xing: Excuse my English, tis not very good. But why do you seek me here today.
Chris: Well Master Xing. I, like your self, am a Professional Wrestler in North America. We are touring right now around the world and we have a show here in Hong Kong on Sunday. I’ve searched long and had for you for your words of wisdom and some advice. Because on Sunday, I am in a match with a man named Branden Harvey. This match, is not like any other, it is a blind fold match. We each have a blindfold on and we have our match, unable to see. And because your are the most famous blind wrestler in the world, I was wondering what kind of advice you have for me, going into a match where I can not see.
Xing: Chris, it takes long time to wrestle without vision. I started my career in 1975. It was when I had match in Japan in early 1983. Da Japanese mafia wanted me to lose. I was da top draw at time. But I didn’t lose. I couldn’t, because of my pride. After show, Japanese mafia attacked me, and took my eyes. But one ting they not take, is my pride. Because I love to wrestle, I didn’t stop. I became di first blind wrestler. It took me 3 years of training my mind and my body to wrestle not with sight, but with feeling. To feel the emotion of the crowd. To trust your senses. After long training, I became world champion. I was inspiration for many blind people. Chris, something like that, it don’t happen over night. But if you want words of wisdom, I say, trust your instinct, truth your emotions and listen. Listen to the noises around you and you will be fine.
Chris: Thank you Master Xing. I will take these words of wisdom and use them this Sunday. Its been an honor to speak with you sir.
Xing: Good luck Chris.
Chris shakes Master Xing’s hand and stands up and begins heading towards the door before being stopped by one of the wrestlers training in the ring
Wrestler: HEY, You American!
Chris turns around, knowing he’s the only american in the room.
Wrestler: You Chris Cyrus. You work with APW.
Chris nods
Wrestler: You fight Branden Harvey on Sunday. You want to show us how to cut a promo. As a payment for talking with Master Xing
Chris: Sure, I got time to kill.
Chris walks up to the ring and slides in under the bottom rope. All the wrestlers sit around the ring in respect, as Chris begins to cut his promo for Branden Harvey
Chris: This Sunday on Asylum, I take on my opponent for One Night in Hell, Branden Harvey. This isn’t any ordinary match, this is a Blind Fold Match. Never in my career have I been in a match like this and never in APW has this been done. For the past two weeks, I’ve been asking myself, how do you wrestle in a blind fold match? I don’t have an answer, but I have gotten advice. In two weeks, at One Night in Hell, I defend my Suicidal Championship against Branden in a Fans Bring the Weapons match. I look at this match as a preview as what’s to come at One Night in Hell. A warm up you could say. But at the end of the day, I kind of feel bad for Branden, because that just means that I get to beat him two matches in a row.
Is Branden Harvey ready for me this Sunday? He sure as hell wasn’t ready for Kate Horton on Overdrive. Branden is just a punk kid who thinks he’s a big shot because he got a World Heavyweight Title shot at Shockwave, and now a shot at my title, and also put together the Elite Posse. Gotta say though The Elite Posse have been looking impressive, but after Overdrive, its clear to me that the Elite Posse is on Borrowed time.
Branden, don’t think I don’t read the dirt sheets. I hear what people have been saying about you. Saying that your involvement with the Elite Posse is giving you some momentum. But guess what, I can look through that. I can tell Branden that your believing this hype and that its getting to your head a bit. I’ve been in this business longer than you and I’ve been in APW longer than anyone. And I’ve seen it before and it all ends the same way. You may have the Elite Posse behind you, hell, they may even show up and attack me while I’m blind folded. It still doesn’t change the fact that you’re a punk Branden.
History lesson time Branden. Lets go back almost a year ago, the night we crowned the first Tap Out Champion. During the IWC days. We fought each other in the opening round, and because of how dumb you are, you got yourself disqualified, costing yourself a shot at the Tap Out Title. Fast Forward to a couple months ago, leading up to Shockwave, I single handedly took out your former buddies. I took out Blade and we never saw him an in APW since. At Shockwave, I defeated The Gambler and sent him packing. Notice a pattern here Branden. Your not smarter than you we’re a year ago. Your no better now than a year ago. My championship, I busted my ass to win it and I’m not going to let a punk kid like you make a fool out of me.
At Asylum, it’s a match that winning or losing doesn’t mean anything, but I’m Chris Cyrus. I don’t go into a match expecting to lose. I wouldn’t be a Grand Slam Champion if that was the case. The last show before a Pay Per View, its one of the most important shows, a lose could kill your momentum, or a win could be what it takes, to take you over the top and win at the Pay Per View. But as the Suicidal Champion, I have great pride and I’m going to bring respect back to this title. Something The Gambler couldn’t do.
What I did two weeks ago at Asylum Branden, attacking you like I did. Consider that a warning as for what’s to come this Sunday at Asylum and at One Night in Hell. Think of it as pay back for costing me a shot at the World Heavyweight Champion. I’m still bitter about it, but I’ll get over it soon enough, when we meet in that ring and I whoop your ass all over the arena, even while blind folded. Sunday Night Branden, get ready for a match like no other. Get ready for a match where anything could happen. Get ready to receive a One Way Ticket, STRIGHT….TO….HELL!!!
Why?
Because I’m Chris Cyrus, and That means I’m SIMPLY…AWESOME!!!
The wrestlers in the building clap and cheer for Chris as he bows to the wrestlers and exit’s the ring. The wrestlers all go up to Chris and talk with him as the scene fades to black.
