After One Night in Hell…
Backstage in the locker room of the San Diego Seagulls a celebration is going on. A little earlier in the night Kate Horton shocked the entire APW locker room and the wrestling world by defeating Johnny Brown for the APW Tap Out Championship at One Night in Hell. The Seagulls are still celebrating her victory as the camera turns on. Kate is staring at her belt still surprised by what happened.
Horton: Can you believe it? I beat Brown to pull off one of the biggest shockers of the night.
Scripps: I believe it. I knew you could do it and you showed everybody out there that we mean business.
Kate looks up at him and nods her head.
Horton: I know but I’m a champion now. Me, one of the best in APW after being here less than three months. If anybody would’ve called that when we arrived they would’ve been called liars. But now it’s all a reality. A green rookie with very little past experience has shown that anybody can come in here and kick ass. That’s how I operate and so do you. All of these veterans who frown upon rookies and newcomers just got a wake up call thanks to me, among others.
Scripps: Damn right. Now our next order of business are the tag titles. Red Shield Mafia won them and I think we can beat them.
Horton: I think so too.
Scripps: Now all we have to do is go after those belts and win them so that we have the ultimate control over the APW tag team division.
Horton: That shouldn’t be too difficult judging by how small the tag division here is.
Scripps: But what about the Brothers of Ministry, Texas Mafia, and the Weyland Family?
Kate scoffs at that comment.
Horton: Fuck them. We can beat all of them.
Scripps: Ok, whatever you say champ.
Horton: Yeah…now let’s get ready and get out of here so we can have a proper victory celebration.
Charles smiles at her.
Scripps: That’s exactly what I was thinking.
They smile at each other as the scene fades to both.

San Diego, California
Night…
The scene opens up on the edge of the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, California as the San Diego Seagulls are standing by before going to a Halloween holiday party in the area. The bay fills up the background from across the street. Kate is wearing a black dress and Charles is wearing a nice looking white suit. Kate also has her newly won APW Tap Out Championship around her waist. They smile at the camera before beginning their monologue.
Scripps: One Night in Hell was the biggest night in the career of the San Diego Seagulls. Firstly I ended up in the final three of the Costume Battle royal against a current champion here in APW by the name of Katrina Olivetti and the eventual winner Pence Weatherlight. I gave it my all and showed everybody that I’m not the weak link on this team because there is NO weak link on this team. That leads me into later in the night. I’ll let my partner take over since she can tell you about what happened later much better than I can.
At this point the camera trains on Kate who is smiling from ear to ear. This is the first time she’s ever been shown to be happy on APW television.
Horton: Later on at One Night in Hell I faced “True Brit” Johnny Brown for the APW Tap Out Championship in a Submissions Count Anywhere match that nobody thought I would win.
The smile on her face soon fades as she now is glaring at the camera with a look of disdain. This is Kate as her normal self. An icy cold bitch who is out to hurt people.
Horton: No one thought I would win the match and that pisses me off more than anything. NO ONE believed in me except for myself and Charles. We’re constantly being overlooked just because we’re facing bigger and tougher opponents that nobody else except for the other alpha wrestlers here would care to step in the ring with. That motivation pushed me through to victory in that match. Brown’s sexist and misogynistic comments also motivated me going into the match. He pissed me off just like the doubters pissed me off and that pushed me to victory. Nobody will doubt me anymore. Just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I’m going to lose to someone. It seemed rather sexist that everybody was picking against me on the wrestling websites and forums all over the world. I am someone who is motivated by being doubted. Let me make something perfectly clear. I am here to win and to be at the top of this company someday. This is just the start of our rise to the top of APW.
The camera pans out to show both members of the team once again.
Scripps: That leads us to the next chapter of our story here in APW. This week we’re facing two teams, one on Overdrive and one on Asylum. One is the current APW Tag Team Champions and the other is a new team. That new team is The Brothers of Ministry and that is who we will be talking about right now. At this time not too much is known about them except for they are brothers and are very dark in demeanor. That’s all we know other than the fact they are power wrestlers and brawlers. That is something we can use to our advantage. We are wrestlers and we will make this into a wrestling match. Whatever team controls the match will win the match. You two will make it into a brawl but rest assured we will turn this into a wrestling match. It’s that simple. We will not let you control the flow of the match. Rest assured we will win and we will kick your asses all over the ring. Nothing you do can stop us from demolishing you in the ring.
Kate smiles at the camera now.
Horton: I’m sure what you newbies are thinking. You’re probably thinking that we are the type of people who are all talk and can’t back up what we say. Well let me show you something.
She points to her waist and the camera pans down to her Tap Out Championship belt as she continues to speak.
Horton: This right here shows that we can back up what we say. We’re not the type of team that comes on the television on a weekly basis and makes idle threats. We say what we mean and back it up in the ring with more technical wrestling savvy than you’ll see from any other team here in APW. Don’t believe us? Just ask “True Brit” Johnny Brown. He was the top rising star in this company until he faced both of us in the ring in singles matches. First Charles beat him. Then I faced him at One Night in Hell and took his precious APW Tap Out Championship. Now we’re focusing on winning the APW Tag Team Titles and nobody can stop us from achieving that goal. On Overdrive we’re facing the champions in a non-title match however on Asylum we’re facing you two.
Scripps: That’s right. We’re taking on the top two tag teams in this company on the same week. No other team in this company would even dare to do something that ballsy and that’s the truth. We have more guts and more brains than any other team in this company. However we will give you this much. You two are bigger than us and stronger than us. That however will not dampen our spirits. In fact it’ll motivate us even more to kick your asses. We are a team that has no fear of anyone that we’re put in the ring with. In fact we relish fighting bigger, stronger teams. Dangelus, you’re a big man. However there’s an old saying in this business. It’s the bigger they are the harder they fall and you two will fall. Not only fall but fall into an abyss known as defeat that you will be unable to escape from. Defeat is the biggest confidence drainer in this business and facing us will make you realize that sooner than you cared to experience it.
Horton: Don’t think we’ve forgotten about you either, Disciple. You are the smaller member of the team but also the more fucked up in a head. You look like a man who would be in a cemetery after midnight with a shovel in your hand. That’s the kind of man you are. That isn’t meant to be a pun, either. I’ve seen the likes of you before.
Charles looks a bit confused.
Scripps: You mean Goths, right?
Kate nods her head.
Horton: Right.
She raises an eyebrow.
Horton: Why do you ask?
Scripps: Just checking. I thought you were talking about something else.
Horton: Oh, like what?
Scripps: Like Juggalos or something.
She looks at him funny as he clears his throat and tries to get back on topic.
Scripps: Let’s continue.
Kate shakes her head before continuing.
Horton: All of that crap isn’t going to make a damn in the ring. So put on your make up, put on your little panties, and bring you girlie ass to the ring so I can make you my bitch. You’re more womanly than any female in this company or any male for that matter. That even includes that idiot Michael Jennings. Just for that reason I despise you more than anyone else here in APW. However that isn’t going to take my focus off of hurting you in the ring. In fact it’s going to motivate me just like being disrespected by everyone before One Night in Hell. On Asylum the Seagulls are going to show you just why we are the best team in this company. We are the team that no one wants to face which will become very apparent to you the moment you first step into the ring with us. We’re not here to play. We’re here to be athletes, no entertainers. Asylum will be just another win for us and another nightmare for you two. Welcome to APW and welcome to the start of your losing streak.
Scripps: We’ll see you in the ring.
The Seagulls walk off screen with the night view of San Diego Bay in the background as the scene fades to black.
