When Michael Callahan stormed into APW in late January he made a major name for himself by becoming the only Mega Star in APW history to win a title in his first ever match at the inaugural Survivor and Conquer pay-per-view. Following his win, "The American Hero" promised to usher in a new era promoting the sanctity of life and a strong opposition towards abortion and euthanasia with the creation of a "Pro Life" title which he described as having a spinner with a baby's head on it possibly made from diamonds.
However after Reginald Schmidt veto'd the proposition two weeks ago at Asylum it seemed on this week's Asylum that the referendum on the championship had been dropped once and for all with Callahan not mentioning title change at all. This lead wrestling fans and journalists alike to believe that the Pro Life era was ironically victim to an abortion of its own but in a statement we obtained after chasing Callahan with a tape recorder in a busy downtown carpark he had this to say about the situation.
Michael Callahan: The pro life era is not dead. Far from it. While my main mission within the company is to bring about a reversion towards the traditional values that make this country and the wrestling industry great it had to take a backseat for this week while I placed my full attention on dealing with the apparent incompetence of my tag partner Julius Farquhar. Rest assured though sweet America, the motion has not been forgotten about and we will not be denied. While this week on the show I was busy telling Sally Talfourd what for and single handedly destroying Iida Sadamu and Phil Atken I have been diligently working on plans for the upcoming Pro Life revolution which will take place on Saturday at the Tap Out special.
I can hear people asking, "You're gonna' bring a revolution? You and what army?" My answer to that is the tailor-made army of lawyers I have assembled from Toronto's esteemed Berkley and Zoidberg legal partnership that will be accompanying me next week on the show. So please, Callahan fans. Join me as Schmidt is forced to accept the tide of change and I proudly crown myself the first ever Pro Life champion in the history of Action Packed Wrestling. So take care, God bless America and remember, a vote for Callahan is a vote for victory. Thank you. Good night.
