APW Predition Game Rules

Here it is, the APW Prediction game!

With the idea having been floated out in the feedback thread, Noble and I figured it might be worth a try and see how much response it truly got. Could be a nice little something for everyone to get involved in. The idea is pretty straight forward.

For each show, the cards will be posted in the prediction forum and everyone will then be able to choose who they want to win each match.

Each correct pick will gain you points, with 1 point being awarded for each one.

Pretty straightforward, right?

The way we will break it down is like so. From one PPV to another will be considered a 'series' and points will be added for that time period (ie: now that Rasslemania is over, from now until Mayhem will be series 1). After each PPV the points will return to 0 and everyone will get a clean slate. There WILL be a running tally for the overall score.

For example, from now through to Mayhem, person A racks up 20 points. Then, starting after Mayhem through to Test for the Best, person A racks up another 20 points. Those would be added together for total of 40 points in the yearly table, while resetting to 0 for the period between Test for the Best and Shockwave.

Good. If you have any questions, feel free to post them below. With things just starting, it might be touch or go until we hammer things out, but overall it's pretty straight forward.

To sum it up:

-Each show will be posted for you to pick your winners.
-1 point will be awarded for each correct pick
-There will be a yearly table as well as a series (or monthly) table

As of right now, we're still working out the "bugs" and that's one of them. Not sure what we are going to do with it at this point, so feel free to pick for your own matches if you'd like.

Well one match a week missing out isn't really hurting too much so I'll just skip my match. If I win out after then I still rule right? Thanks for answering so quickly.

I don't see how picking a winner in your own match should be a problem. If I pick myself to win it makes me more driven to win the match so I don't feel like a chump. There really is no conflict of interest because it's not like we are getting money out of the deal. I see no problem with it whatsoever.

My question would be one of timing. For instance, predictions posted after the deadline I would think shouldn't be allowed, because it gives an unfair advantage as the results of some matches will become obvious.

We've decided that you may pick your own match if you chose to do so.

Also, we're trying to decide if the predictions deadline will be the RP deadline or 1 hour before the show goes up. We should have a solid answer on this soon. This week, I counted one prediction that was like 2 minutes before the show went up just because it's Week 1. In the future, a prediction like that won't be counted.

Just an update on this:

After some feedback in the forum and thinking on it, we will be only running this for PPV's, starting with One Night in Hell (I'll have the thread up later tonight).

The standings will be scrapped (or at least un-stickied), and points won't be tallied for total PPV's for the year. I might put in a results thread where I will post the results of the show and the correct number of picks, but I haven't decided.

The main thing to take from this is that we will be doing this for PPV's only starting with ONIH.
