I'm thinking four scum and one third party. Obvious to me there probably is a third party going by the color mention in the rules.

I'm leaning towards what JamesV is thinking. 4/1/11?
The thing is, Lester was so pedantic about getting his desired numbers that I think it's safe to assume that there is a clear structure to all this in the sense that there is going to be a variety of groups, ie. third parties, cults, etc.

That's a good observation to make, I think. It makes me wonder, though. I've never been in one of Lester's games before to know this... but is he always so particular about getting an exact number of people? Or is this unusual for him?

I ask because if he does, then it lends more credibility to the theory that JamesV put forward.
Also, who hasn't poked their head in yet? Not to point fingers of suspicion, but more just to keep things straight.

Okay, I think we've done enough disecting of the game and how many scum there are. We're all in agreement that there're 4-5 bad guys in general.
I'm sure that the insisting that there were 16 players was for balancing reasons.
I like the fact that the flavor has super powers. I think we can draw from that. For instance, there is a character who has Invisibility as a power. I would think that in Mafia an Invisible player would be hidden at night from certain roles...watcher, tracker....that sort of thing.
I think it would be nice to dig into that so we know what kind of town roles we have at our disposal...though it would be much better if we could delve into the bad guys to see what kind of powers they would have so that our power roles know what they're dealing with.

Assuming the main characters are in this, and then quickly reading Wiki:
Kelly Bailey - Telepathy
Curtis Donovan - Time naipulation/gender swapping/resurrection
Rudy Wade - Emotionally induced duplication
Nathan Young - Immortality/mediumship/reality warping
Alisha Bailey - Forced sexual frenzy by contact/telepathic perspective
Simon Ballamy - Invisibility/precognition/time-travel

Current vote count:Jeff: 1 (Knuckles) Farq: 1 (Noble) Jason Royce: 1 (Blade) With 16 alive it takes 9 votes to lynch. Jason Royce please bold your vote: this in the future please. Thanks! 16. Town is green, mafia is red and third party is purple if applicable. Um, Jules.... yes he does. Okay I missed that. Thanks for pointing it out Tmarv. I like the fact that the flavor has super powers. I think we can draw from that ... I think it would be nice to dig into that so we know what kind of town roles we have at our disposal...though it would be much better if we could delve into the bad guys to see what kind of powers they would have so that our power roles know what they're dealing with. This. We should work on this for the first day. We're not going to get a lynch. I agree with TMarv. Anyone know the flavour rather well? I know this flavour quite well and I have been giving it some thought. Of the players we know are in this game I would wager... Nathan Kelly Curtis Simon Alisha ...Are town. Tony I would wager is scum. Nathan's immortality I presume may translate into some kind of super-bulletproof or immunity from death. That seems obvious. The rest have different powers in different seasons so this analysis isn't so easy. But I'll offer some suggestions. Kelly - I can't pin this one down exactly, but telepathy could translate into a tracker/watcher as a means of reading someone's thoughts. Maybe a cop role could integrate this. Curtis - Not sure about how his season 1 power of time manipulation under emotional stress translates to mafia, but there are a number of time-manipulation roles according to deusexmafia.wetpaint.com/page/Mafia+Role+List; his season 2 power of gender transformation could mean he is a mutant or morpher or some role that allows him to switch between powers or his identity in order to avoid detection; his season 3 power of resurrection could mean he is a High Priest/Reviver, although in the show when Curtis resurrects somebody they return as a zombie/vampire. Simon - He uses his invisibility to follow people. I would wager he is a tracker/watcher/follower. May also be connected to Alisha as a lover. Alisha - not sure how the hyper-arousal would translate into a mafia game, but her clairvoyance may suggest a seer. May also be connected to Simon as a lover. Another town character I am certain of is Rudy, who replaced the Nathan character when he left between seasons 2 & 3. He can split himself into two; if there is a double-voter in this game it is Rudy. Another key player is Seth, a drug dealer who gains the ability to take powers, store them in his body, and give them to others. If there is some power-manipulation role this character is my primary candidate. He develops a relationship with Kelly in season 3, hence his town candidacy. There is also SuperHoodie, a mysterious character whose identity isn't known initially, but he often intervenes to help and protect the gang at certain times. This would be my candidate for town bodyguard. * This is as much as I can say atm (and it is all speculatve). There are loads of characters I could consider for town, but this post would be endless. Nevertheless, these are the town characters I feel very confident are in this game.

@ Farq
Superhoodie is Simon (I assume you mean the man in black and a paintball mask?)
The thing is with misfits, their powers evolve. They are able to swap them and take others. I wouldnt put it past having the guy that takes powers, but as for the actual flavour, it all depends which series he has based it off. I am guessing 1&2?

To those that know the flavor (and have hinted at the probation workers being bad)...Tony was written up in green which, according to Level One's rules makes him town.
As for anything else, not much really going on to make note of. Farq's list of town related players is basically from the first write up, though his insight into the roles is helpful.
And to answer Kris, I think everyone has checked in except Chaz.

@ Blade
I know SuperHoodie is Simon, but he is Simon from the future and therefore distinct from present Simon (the one in the write-up). I just didn't want to throw out a spoiler in case anybody who hasn't seen it wanted to watch the show. I wouldn't rule out Simon as one character and SuperHoodie as a separate character in this game. I'm not saying it is certain, I'm just saying it is a possibility since they are two different 'characters' in the TV show.
@cj
Tony was green before the storm, he isn't mentioned after it. Since our game began with Gary being found dead (true to the flavour), and Tony being the killer (in the show), I am working on the assumption that Tony flipped red/scum due to the storm.
I guess it all depends on how much you give to the flavour/write-up, but that is what I am going to assume until it is proven otherwise. Tony (as ghost) does reconcile himself with the gang at the end of season 3, but since are start point is the start of season 1 I'm putting my faith in that aspect of the flavour.

MOD NOTE: To answer someone's question - there is also no character claiming under any circumstance. I did not have this in the rules but it goes without saying and has been updated in the rule set.
Deadline @ 11:59 PM EST - Friday.
Please note that I may cut it short a few hours early and put a few hours extra on the day two clock instead for time zone reasons.

Since the main characters have been tackled, I'm going to focus on what Wikipedia has to say about the minor characters. Keep in mind I've never seen a single episode, so there's probably a bunch of people I'm missing.
Sally - Going off of what I can see here, she's not got any powers on her own... but being brought back from the dead by a medium might be something to consider. Isn't there a mafia role called a ghost..? *looks* No, but maybe that would be a custom role, something to do with controlling votes as if they were possessed by someone else.
Pete - Says here he's a policeman... so that's sort of self-evident, one would think.
Superhoodie - ...has been convered already.
Nikki - Uncontrollable teleportation... not sure how this would translate, in-game.
Shaun - From what I've seen, this guy is no more, has ceased to be, an ex-parrot, etc... and even if he's not actually dead in-game, he'd not be anything above a vanilla townie, I don't think.
Seth - Jules covered this guy as well.
These're my guesses-- and I know they're probably not worth much, but it's a worthwhile shot. Also, note that I didn't go into the 'Other Characters' section since I unfortunately lack the time to tackle that. Maybe someone else could?

From the writeups this feels more like early season stuff rather than the third season so I think we should focus on that because that will give us some definite bearings for future play.
I don't want to jump the gun here and make a poor lynch but I did find something telling me that AC Smith seemed like he was trying to big-up his own importance, whether that is a slip for a power role or a mafia is something I can't directly call out now but I am wary of it.
As for making a vote, I want to see what we can establish first before doing anything specific although I have to ask...
Is deadline is in a few hours or did I read it wrong?

Nah, it's just my natural persona! You'll learn quickly that my 'wit,' for lack of a better term, is just part of my folksy charm. Plus I can't let it out too much at home because my fiance will kill me, and weddings tend to work much better when both parties are, you know, alive!

Calling deadline early for obvious reasons. Today has ended in a No lynch. The misfits are in the bathroom looking at the dead body of Gary, with an axe still stuck into the middle of his face. Nathan Young: I don't know about you guys but he already has had won the best costume for Halloween. Kelly Bailey punches him on the shoulder. Nathan Young: Ow! Kelly Bailey: Shut up ya' prick! He's dead and all you can do is make fookin' jokes, what is wrong with ya'? Curtis Donovan starts hyperventilating. Alisha Bailey: Curtis – Curtis!? Alisha Bailey touches Curtis Donovan on his shoulder – suddenly he jolts forward and the veins stick out of his neck. Curtis Donovan: I want to fuck you so hard right now. Curtis tries to rip off Alisha's blouse but she pulls away from him. Alisha Bailey: What the fuck is wrong with you – you perv! Curtis eyes bulge out of his head as a sequence of events rapidly replay in his head. The misfits are in the bathroom looking at the dead body of Gary, with an axe still stuck into the middle of his face. Nathan Young: I don't know about you guys but he already has won the best costume for Halloween. Kelly Bailey punches him on the shoulder. Nathan Young: Ow! Curtis watches the two bicker as he immediately steps in between the two of them. Curtis Donovan: Something fucked up is happening to us! Alisha raises an eyebrow as she leans towards he – he steps away violently. Curtis Donovan: Don't touch me! Alisha Bailey: What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you one of those gays? Nathan Young gyrates mockingly. Nathan Young: Ain't nothing wrong with a little butt fucking every now and then – if your into that sorta stuff. Curtis Donovan: No! Alisha – you touched me and it did something to me. Then I went back in time and it was all going to happen again. Nathan Young raises an eyebrow as he looks at Simon standing around just watching. Nathan Young shoves Simon into Alisha as the falls to the ground on on top of her. Simon Bellamy: You're so fucking hot. I want to take off your clothes and piss on your tits! Kelly Bailey and Curtis Donovan pull Simon off of Alisha. Nathan Young: Did you just say you wanted to piss on her tits? Probably best to keep that kinda thing between you and your internet service provider! Simon Bellamy: I am sorry, I didn't mean it! Nathan Young shoves his hands in his pockets and shakes his head back and forth. Alisha looks up at the misfits with fear in her eyes. Alisha Bailey: What the fuck is happening to me!? Suddenly, Kelly Bailey punches Nathan Young in the shoulder – again! Nathan Young: What was that for!? Kelly Bailey: You think I am some sort of slag, don't ya? Nathan Young looks at Kelly Bailey confused. Nathan Young: I never said that! Kelly Bailey: You thunk it! ... Kelly Bailey: I heard that! Nathan Young stomps his feet. Nathan Young: No fair – you can't just read my mind without asking! That's an invasion of privacy! Nathan Young looks at his ASBO counter parts with disgust on his face. Nathan Young: I don't believe this! Your all pulling one over on me, aren't you? Very funny. Hey, Barry what can you do? The misfits all look around and realized they're missing one. Kelly Bailey: Who the hell is Barry? His name is Simon. Nathan Young: Oh, really? I thought it was Barry. My bad. Simon waves his hands around. Simon Bellamy: I'm right here. No one reacts. Simon Bellamy: Guys, I'm right here! Still no reaction. Simon turns around and looks at a mirror but doesn't see his reflection staring back at him and begins to panic. Simon Bellamy: You can't see me!? You can't hear me!? I am right here! Simon Bellamy waves his hands right in front of Nathan Young's face but his effort is futile – he's invisible. Nathan Young: Well if this storm gave you all powers I should have one too! Maybe I can shoot laser beams out of my eyes. Or fly – or maybe I can't feel pain! Kelly slaps him upside the head. Nathan Young: Ow! Okay, so that's not it. But I mean, I was there, right? I should have one of these bullshit powers. Kelly Bailey: You can have mine. Wanna hear what people are thinking about you? Nathan Young: Not so much, no. I want something good, you know, something from the A-list. The misfits uncomfortably roll their eyes at Nathan. Kelly Bailey: What if there's loads of people like us all over town? Nathan Young: No, that kind of thing only happens in America. This will fade away. I'm telling you, by this time next week, it'll be back to the same old boring shit. The misfits proceed to grab the body of Gary and stuff him in an empty locker – before pushing it out of the community centre and loading it up in the back of a truck. They tie the truck hood down and drive to their location beneath and under pass to bury Gary's body. Simon Bellamy: Do you think the cops will find us? We should tell them the truth – we had nothing to do with this. Curtis Donovan: And what makes you think they'll believe us? We're a bunch of young offenders in community service we're not societies best. Kelly Bailey: We can't go to the fookin' police. Curtis holds a shovel as he pours one last pound of dirt on the grave. Curtis Donovan: Nobody can say a fucking word about this, you hear me? Nathan Young: I'm pretty sure this breeches the terms of my ASBO! The misfits nod their heads as the scene comes to a close. NIGHT ONE HAS BEGUN. PLEASE SEND ME YOUR NIGHT ACTIONS BY 9:00 PM EST SATURDAY NIGHT. THAT'S 24 HOURS FROM NOW! NO TALKING DURING THIS PHASE!!!
