First up, let me just say this was a stacked Asylum show. Well done and thanks to everyone who played a part in putting it together. I know there are one or two individuals who think Asylum doesn't get the hype an Overdrive does, but this was a show that proved Asylum can be just as entertaining. Also, I thought the show did okay at building towards Mayhem. I'd say it is still a little behind Overdrive in terms of its build (although I think the Asylum card is now beginning to take some shape), and for me there was a real lack of hype for the Asylum main event @ Mayhem. I understand there may be some RL issues involved in this, but if it wasn't for Knuckles being on the Atken show there would have been no hype for the World Title match aside from that scuffle at the end. Anyway, here are my thoughts on some specifics. - Solid well-written matches all-round. It's always a shame to see no-shows, but they were appropriately dealt with. - The Callahan/STUDS stuff this week was interesting. I've haven't been following many RPs since RM because RL has not allowed me to, but I'm guessing Callahan is going through some kind of personal strife. Overall I thought the segments were fine at playing around with the double-turn, and I was thoroughly entertained by every segment and was laughing out loud as Callahan was 'stripping'. There was one bit towards the end of the final segment that I was lukewarm on, but the finish was strong. It was a nice little story within the show, although this could have worked well had it been drawn out over several shows with Callahan's initiation building up over a series of events to the strip-tease. That is just a minor point/suggestion. Overall, smart work by Callahan et al. - The Sykes characters look like he could be a lot of fun and may add something unique to the show. Two nice segments to give us a flavour of what the character is about. - I thought Donovan Caine had disappeared so I was surprised to see him again. This promo was a bit hit and miss for me. I'll confess I don't quite understand the Caine gimmick, all this stuff about Manifest Destiny, Cardinal Sin, embracing God doesn't seem to fit with the mythology of the character with Legions and 'The King of the Dead' moniker and all that. Admittedly I'm not an expert in all religious mythology, but there does seem to be an odd juxtaposition of pseudo-divine and the satanic. Is Caine a Nemesis like character? Is he demonic? Is he a loon? That said the guy who writes Caine does write some interesting similes and metaphors, e.g. 'charisma oozed off his trenchcoat like a vile plague' and 'You are nothing but a peasant infested by the fleas of sinful rodents' being my favourites. I also like this line 'It was one thing to embarrass Suzuki but Caine wanted to break him in half'. Succinct, but a powerful and violent statement. The overall promo was okay when it was focussed on Isamu, but it was only at the end that I got a glimpse of what the grudge with Isamu was all about. - I hope the Atken show will be a regular spot on Asylum. Good choice of guest this week with Johnny Knuckles because it gave the Mayhem main event some presence on the show. The line of questioning was good, and I think Knuckles did a good job of selling his part in the World Title picture. - Matlock #1 contender for the Tap-Out Title. I'm sure Bailey has no intention of dropping the title, but given the run he is on it may be time to do so. The boy is ready for the an extend run at the World Title. Isamu/Caine - This was a good follow-up to Caine's earlier promo. Selling the injury makes Caine look like a threat, and the mysterious coming and going gives us some reason to believe Caine is in the head of Suzuki and Fireson. OMFC - that was just plain nasty, lol! - Great amendment to the Farq/Manservant intro, well done whoever was responsible for that. Thanks to C.J. for accommodating the stuff I sent. - Did not see coming Morrison turning on Casteel. That was an interesting surprise, although if it means the tag division has lost a solid tag team its a shame. - Sally and Anthony is a nice dynamic; the legend playing mentor to a sure-fire future world champion. - Bailey beats Knuckles, adding to victories over Kash & Dillinger. From a storyline point of view I'm going to throw out something controversial and ask whether the Asylum main event @ Mayhem may lack credibility without Bailey involved. (I'm just teasing ;D )

A great show, don't get me wrong. I think there's some issue with a little lost momentum with the biweekly which sort of costs some of the interest in some of the story lines. But that's why we need to make sure we put out this feedback, and we start to get some of the other stuff (I'm thinking about the website ideas) into full effect to really push the Asylum stuff.
Farq is well on the way to being Asylum's resident reviewer! Keep up the good work.
As I said, a great show. It was solid with its feuds, and everything was well written. I can't fault any of the match writers as I enjoyed all of the matches. Some more than others, but there weren't any that were bad at all.
Some people are really throwing themselves at their story lines. Callahan, Julius, and Caine were probably the more memorable of the segments of the night, and it really goes to show you the level of commitment these guys have to their ideas when even segments for the show are so well written and crafted. Excellent job guys! Isamu's storyline in here as well is really interesting, and I'm actually keen to learn more about the character and where this is going to take him.
Johnny Skyes was a much welcomed addition to the show. I expect he will fit in very well - and will rise through the ranks pretty fast too.
I definitely need to single out Atken - for his show was awesome! With Knuckles as the guest, I wouldn't expect anything less either. Another great addition to the show that really gives it some flavour.
I think we all take a lot out of this show ... but nothing is bigger than Anthony Bailey. If this guy hasn't put all of Asylum on notice, I don't know what it would take to do that. He's won the Tap Out Championship ... backed up by beating the World Heavyweight Champion ... backed up by beating the other half of the Asylum Rasslemania main event! I'm happy to even be able to cut segments with him - I'm almost afraid to get into a match with him!
Well done everyone. Keep up the great work - together we're putting together really solid shows!

Heh, glad you enjoyed it. I figured that it would add to Julius' character and the dynamic between the two if he stopped the announcer from announcing Manservant. Tried to work what you sent in, so hopefully it was what you had in mind. As for the show, I'll echo the sentiments that it was a show that had some good build to Mayhem, but a show that could have had better build to Mayhem. What was done, however, was really good. There were some great segments that pushed toward the PPV, and built up some nice stories. The matches were great all around, and well written. Unfortunately a few no shows kind of hurt the matches, but sometimes those are to be expected. I don't think they hurt too much, and it allowed Mr. Dangerous to pick up an actual tag team win, so that's a plus. Bulk and Dangerous for tag champs? I think so. The Callahan stuff was interesting, and I agree that if Asylum were a weekly show, it could have been drawn out. But seeing as how it's bi-weekly I can see why it was rushed on one show like it was. Farquhar had a good presence in the show, and it was good to see Bailey pick up another big win. Bout time he got a crack at the World title! Congrats to all of the winners! Here's looking forward to the next show!

well i certainly got no complaints. i like how bailey is getting a push and if it wasnt for his title defense at mayhem, he totally deserves to make it a fatal four way. we both were very busy so thats y we kept it at 1 apiece. now that bailey can see wat to expect, he can expect more when the time is rite. ill call kash and see wats up. im also diggin the callahan stuff. will make for an interesting PPV. i dunno wat else could be said that hasnt been said already.

For those of you who think that Callahan's breakdown was rushed, you're right. It was rushed, but it was for a reason. Callahan's joining, stripping and leaving of the Studmuffins isn't an entire angle wrapped up in one episode. It's just one of many bumps in the road for Callahan, as well as his new friends in the Traditional Restoration Initiative. I think what some people generally tend to forget with wrestling though is that there's a next episode yet, to see how things pan out and see why things were done the way they are. You all should know by now that I'm one of those guys who plans way ahead for his storylines and I can assure you all that the events that unfolded for Callahan are just the tip of the iceberg as far as the longer, over-arching schematic for his torment goes. I love making my characters suffer and Callahan is nowhere near out of the woods yet. Believe that.

I'm trying to get back to normal with some stuff so I can be here 100% like normal. It's tough though right now with work and my kid and my Fiance being back hasn't yet lowered my schedule. As for the show? My deepest apologizes for not having the World Champion more involved, I've been a stain on the belt and the show entirely since Mania. Life is Unexpected and it sucks at times.
Anthony Bailey? I got something for you coming man, very good job these last few weeks since Mania. You have really come into a stride.

TBH Callahan is going through a rough patch etc. but don't want to suffer him to much he loses momentum. But I do see you as a future world champion around here in due time.

Great show IMO. I honestly thought Knuckles had me on the trash talk but good match nonetheless. Right as we agreed to keep our RP's to one each, I was so ready to fire off a second RP and put the nail in the coffin lol. I'll most likely use some of the material for my next RP regardless though, I wouldn't want any of it to go to waste Where do I start? Let's see...I can see where everyone's coming from regarding the lack of Mayhem build up but I think the next Asylum will do a good job of that if everyone sends in some classic segments like the Atken/Knuckles one. Just like his RP, Knuckles knows how to get under my skin lol. The Callahan/Studmuffins stuff was great!! I always make it my job to read Callahan's RP's so I knew exactly the back story of his nervous break down. Making a fool of himself allowed us to see a side of his character that's never been seen and it was good especially for the short term of one episode. Dragging it out would've probably done Callahan some damage to his image IMO so for what it was, it was good. But now that he's getting back to business as usual with the T.R.I., I expect him to be more brutal than ever before. (Callahan, update your W/L record in your sig too pal. You've had more than 5 matches lol) I'm still getting a feel for Sykes, but for some reason I see him becoming sort of a Jason Kash like figure (Though no one can be like or replace Jason, his character's one of a kind). And what I mean by that is I see him being sort of a heelish face who will get over with his skills and humor. Only time will time, but if he did end up going that route, it'd be interesting seeing him work his way up the card. Caine's gimmick is giving me sort of a Ministry of Darkness/Raven's Flock vibe. I could be wrong, but the dark feel with religious connotations could get over well depending how you utilize your character and develop feuds. Though the dialogue confuses me from time to time lol, I'm interested to see where this goes. Matlock won his match therefore I must destroy him lol. Good match though. I really want OMFC to implement the RP tips he's been given. He's a dedicated guy who could move up in no time if some tweaks were made to his RP's. P.S. I'm gonna kill him for destroying my locker room like that. Sucks that Morrison turned on Casteel, but I guess there's really not a need for them to be partners if there isn't a solid tag team division present. I can't take any credit for the Sally segments. She's the mastermind behind it all and I just passively sit by and rarely ever contribute. RP'ing is my expertise, but coming up with segments is like asking me to do rocket science. But yeah, Sally's great! She has so much more in store, so keep your eyes peeled folks! I must admit, I must do more research on the Isamu and Farq characters. They are great guys and talented RP'ers. I know who they are obviously but I always seem to overlook them. Sorry fellas, I need to stop slacking

To be honest, I haven't got a clue what's going on in regard to storylines and characters here, but I'll soon catch up, and then will be in a better position to comment.
All I will say is that Farq is a genius, and it's an absolute pleasure being involved in this amazing storyline, and I'm sure whoever we both rp against, we'll all have a good laugh.
Reading the show, it flowed well, and it's obvious that there is a dedicated and hardcore select few who go above and beyond in regard to match writing and segments, so it's just nice to be a part of it to be honest.
Congrats to everyone who won, and commiserations to the "losers"
