First and foremost, good job to every single person involved in this fed. Rather it was Jeff putting things together, the people that did segments or matches, or just the fact that we all rped and put out our best. Damn good.
I don't think I have a single compliant about results. Everything from top to bottom was good. I think all the matches that were built up to be something huge / special / exciting lived up to their hype and someone that's been around as long as I have. It's very rare that something like that happens, so kudos for that.
Every single match was entertaining and it had a pay per view feel to it. There was huge spots in a lot of matches. Lots of great false counts (especially when it came to big moves). I don't think there was a single match that failed to deliver when it actually came to the matches in the ppv.
Top 3 Matches [imo] - Noble vs Gates - Harris vs Dionysus [The last man standing match was beastly] - TMarv vs Saint
I am glad to see some feuds come to an end in such a glorious fashion, but I also know that there are a handful of feuds that aren't done just yet and I look forward to seeing what the next chapter is when it comes to those feuds. Also looking forward to seeing what comes next for some of the champions and some of the others within the fed as far as their characters go.
And on a side note. I wanted to thank Dionysus for an amazing feud between Harris/Dionysus. I have no shame in losing, matter fact I was sure I'd lose anyway. You are a talented guy and the feud was one of the best ones I have had in recent years. I think we work pretty damn well together haha.
Also to anyone and everyone that was involved in the Bar Room Brawl. Thanks for being such great opponents and really forcing me to test my limits with Sykes. I was pretty sure I didn't have a chance in hell but I certainly shocked the hell out of myself to say the least especially seeing as I got to win. Great work, hopefully we cross paths again one day guys.
With that being said. Once again it was a great pay per view. Lots of exciting stuff and I am looking forward to the next pay per view more than ever. It should be an interesting next month or two. Let's keep up the good work guys. I am starting to personally love this place more and more as time goes on.

I think everyone deserves commendations for their efforts this afternoon. Was an absolutely superb show as I think most would attest to and it speaks to not just the quality of writers we have here, but the people that they're willing to put in the time not just for their own work but those of others.
I want to really thank John (Delikado) for putting together a damn good feud. A lot of the stuff you read he was the catalyst for and put the majority of it together. It was a ton of fun doing the things we did and to see the reaction we got. I hope everyone enjoyed what we put together.
The matches for this show were really good. The main event had some really good spots and really capped the feud in a solid way. A stellar way to end the night and four fantastic role plays. Shouts should also go to Sally and Danny for their match and their role play efforts. They did the Asylum brand proud as I felt the match was too close to call in my opinion. I also think a third should out needs to go to Terry and Keaton for their work as they capped what I feel has been the best feud over the past three months almost. They told an excellent story and I'm happy to see it end because the match did everything justice. Would've loved to have seen Keaton come out on top as a wrestling fan but alas, Terry was a deserved winner this week.
I also want to give a shout out to Michael Harris for likely the line of the night with "Go fist yourself." It's always nice to see a heel that pissed off after a loss.
A couple of things that I didn't like were the Nick Watson segments as I felt they made absolutely no sense. The one with President Jeff didn't fit his character at all from what I've noticed. I also thought it was rather funny that he was suspended but still managed to compete in the match in the same post - but then later in the show was running around being suspended again. It didn't make any sense whatsoever to me.
I also really, really didn't like the handshake at the end of the main event. With the way that feud has gone and Noble's new attitude I don't think that fit with the character at all. I could see CJ extending a hand -- maybe even Noble begrudgingly taking it -- but I don't see him just doing it as a show of respect which is what I've got from it. It just to me seemed like the match served as an end to the feud and it would've been better for Noble to go off with his belt held high as Gates looked on shaking his head sort of deal.

I have done my usual job of skimming the results, I'm reading in full now and will give full feedback when I'm done. This post is mostly for credits.
- To Jeff for once again organising a great show.
- To everyone who RPed and helped write the show. Kudos earned as always.
- To Harris for being such a game feud buddy. I'm always surprised if I 'win', and none more so than today. I'm sure our paths will cross again someday; keep at it bro, you deserve a huge amount of credit for meeting your workload handsomely on this PPV considering what happened to your body IRL. I hope your injuries heal quickly and cleanly.
- To Keaton Saint for not only allowing me to use his character in one of my RPs, but for the notes you provided too. I hope I didn't do Saint an injustice.
Finally, well done to all the 'winners', but everyone involved is genuinely a winner because it means you play an important role in this great e-fed and community. Onwards to Test For The Best!

Post by Nick Watson on May 20, 2012 19:18:35 GMT -4
First of all, this was a great PPV. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the matches, especially the Main Event, and the Ball Room Brawl this year. Very well done everyone, lets hope we can carry this on to the next PPV. Secondly, the new direction of Nick Watson started last week...as I felt the need to give him something to stand out a bit more, and last week it started with him having a public hearing regarding a Sindicate referee. From which he then swiflty Final Jested that ref after getting a "guilty" verdict from the fans. This week was a continuation of that story line. Nick Watson felt two forms of fall out from his choice, namely going against what Jeff wanted: insubordination. And assaulting a Sindicate referee, which ended in him getting mugged. Nick's suspension was going to take place after Mayhem of course, maybe it would have been better to have that put in there, but I had hoped it would have been implied. Nick's final segment was "like" Nick. Nick is a man of the people, not the corporation, much like his mentor, and as such has a persona that can and will usually clash with the higher ups. That personality, mixed with a new sense of purpose, and a zeal for doing the right things has put him on the edge of being assaulted by both sides, but because of what transpired, Jeff found it hard to suspend him, and thus cancelled said suspension.
Nick's new position is anti-corruption as he was cheated out of key victories and experienced it first hand during his assault in the ring against Blade and Marvin. It is what gave me the idea to change Nick a bit and re-invent him a tad. Sure, the Sensational persona is there, and I plan on mixing the two over time...but for now I want to focus on building Nick's personality a bit via segments. And I feel I'm doing it...maybe not successfully, but that is what feedback is for. Thank you for the comment, if things aren't clear yet...I will work it out so it can be clearer as to what I'm doing with Nick now.

Great, GREAT job to everyone involved in the production of this PPV. A lot of people said leading up to Mayhem that it didn't feel like a "come-down" PPV after RassleMania, and it most certainly wasn't. The matches were extremely well-written, and the segments were entertaining as well.
Also, a special tip of the cap to the participants and writer in the Ball Room Brawl. I hate losing, but if I have to go out, I guess getting squashed like a grape by a chandelier is the way to go, huh? Great match-writing by L-1, congrats to Johnny Sykes, and I must say it was a real challenge going up against some really talented writers in this kind of a format.
All in all? Job well done by EVERYONE.

I absolutely loved this PPV... as much as if not more than Rasslemania.
Here's a few things of note:
- Sykes is an animal. Great job tonight. I'm really digging his character. - Another awesome showing by Callahan....kinda ups the pressure for our upcoming confrontation. I thought both he and sally did a bang up job and he got himself a massive ego boost with the win there. - Really loved the segments this show, some of the roster members who don't garner much attention really stepped up with some KICK ASS segs this week. I especially liked the Carmen/Harris one...."Go Fist Yourself" - Sindicate will rule APW lmao. I see so much more potential awesomeness than already is there. - That World title match (triple threat) was a fucking beast. I loved reading it and might be one of my favs of the night. - Harris/Dionysus was one of my favorite feuds the past few weeks. I gotta be honest here, was really pulling for Harris on this one. No disrespect to Farq as his rps were boss....just for the character sake would have liked to see Harris get one up. But congrats to both man for one hell of a feud. - Deli / Hart - This was one of the feuds I loved reading the roleplays for. I thought they were creative and very inspired. This one had me hook line and sinker. - CJ Gates / Kurt Noble.... What can I really say. The end of this little endeavor did not disappoint and really lived up to the hype. I was really glad to see the handshake at the end. I loved how these two characters developed even further. And this match was SOO BAD ASS that I can't contain my excitement for it in this post. lol
Two big shout outs.... one to Atkens for allowing me to be a part of his special Mayhem spot. I dug doing this and he was really spot on with his questions and attitude towards Marv... Good show old chap!
The other one goes to Keaton Saint. I say that without a doubt, this was my favorite feud that I've ever been in during my e-fed career. You helped me develop and build my heel persona in ways that I honestly didn't think was possible. You continually pushed me to my limit and you never had issue with any direction I wanted to take things. Thank you my friend, I enjoyed the hell out of this.

Remarkable PPV! I was expecting either Noble or Gates to turn but it hit me...two faces can feud, put on a classic match, and still remain face.
Every PPV here for me so far has been great. They make me realize why e-wrestling is one of my favorite hobbies.

Having now read the whole thing these are the main things that stand out for me. (I stress before you go ahead these are merely my opinions, so don't get offended.)
- World Title match was good, but imo suffered for the amount of violence in what I assumed was a straight TT match, and the lack of near falls didn't create the kind of tension the second biggest match of the night needed. It was a good start to the event, but a little short of great (according to my tastes).
- Bar Room Brawl was the most entertaining match write-up. This was the perfect balance of OTT action, gimmick spots, action description and excellent commentary.
- Sally/Callahan match was well-written for the most part, but it was WAY TOO LONG, by about 2k words I'd say. This is just my opinion but the match lost pace in that middle section with all the talking. If it was a real event I'd be annoyed that I was paying for that TV segment in the middle of a PPV match. Again, just my opinion according to my tastes.
- Good to see Callahan go over clean against Sally, that is important for the credibility of the character, even if the finish was a bit self-indulgent in that it made Callahan look really strong and Sally look a tad weak. Just a thought.
- Deli/Hart is how you write drama into a match by using near falls. It has a really exciting PPV-finish too. Loved it!
- Cage Match & ME were everything I expected them to be. Well done to Tel and Kurt.
- Although I'm with Hart: I didn't like that handshake at the end of the ME.
- There were too many segments. I'm sure you're all groaning because I say this after every PPV, but focus on the matches people, save the non-match hyping segments for the TV shows. I'm pretty damn adamant about that, so will always harp on about it. I'm not saying there weren't any good segments that didn't do this, but there were some that didn't. Less is more on PPV.
Overall, a great job. Well-written matches, some future main eventers advanced, one or two shocks, although if it were booked you would probably have booked a couple more title changes.

I haven't read every single match yet, admittedly-- just the World Title, LMS, Ball Room Brawl, North American Title match, and Undisputed Title... But all of them were very well-written and the writers should be patting themselves on the back shamelessly. Especially kudos to L-1 who made the Ball Room Brawl (which I thought would be a contrived gimmick match) into a VERY entertaining read with fantastic imagery and innovative spots. I especially liked Smith and Morgan's dance number, as well as pretty much anything that involved Billy Pepsi. I actually thought Pepsi or Smith were gonna get the W here. Nice swerve having them take each other out of the match.
I will read the rest and give it a full review tomorrow evening when I'll have a couple of hours of interrupted free time.

The show was a great read. Thanks to Level One for writing a great Ballroom Brawl. I actually was thinking that it would be a great spot to have Billy be eliminated falling from a chandelier he was using to hide from the action. I laughed out loud when I actually read the spot.
My favorite match was probably the Marv/Saint match. Probably just because I was so into the feud. Great job.
Loved the main event, but disappointed I didn't get to see Gates turn to the dark side. It's much more fun over here CJ, believe me.
Also really enjoyed the Last Man Standing match. Those are tricky to write, but it was pulled off really well.
I usually don't like segments on PPV's but these ones actually played out pretty well. I still prefer ppv's to be primarily match oriented and very light on segments, but it wasn't overly distracting here.
Nice job to all involved.

- Good to see Callahan go over clean against Sally, that is important for the credibility of the character, even if the finish was a bit self-indulgent in that it made Callahan look really strong and Sally look a tad weak. Just a thought. I guess it depends on the way you see it. As an isolated incident and a one off, yes, I'd say it wasn't so much burying Sally but it definitely made me look stronger than her but given that a heel is supposed to look strong by doing something despicable. It's not really that big a deal when you look at it in the context of the entire feud though. In the segments building up towards Mayhem I did everything I could to make Callahan look weak and cowardly yet Sally strong and epic, such as the Pro Life ceremony where she beat his face in or his desperate attempts to try and get out of even facing her covering it up as chivalry when really it was blatantly obvious he was just petrified of getting owned by Saltal.

That's fair enough bro, these always come to a matter of opinion sometimes. My concern wasn't so much the finish to the match per se (I should have made this clearer in my feedback post), but the line that came after it. Michael Callahan: I guess I never did need you after all, Talfourd. I know Callahan is a heel, but my tastes would have preferred post-match selling of how big this win was for Callahan and its ramifications for Asylum, rather than that aloof comment which, for me, buried Sally. Maybe I am nitpicking here, but I just thought I would offer that perspective, if merely for consideration.

You're nitpicking. That's no-way a 'burial' but a light flavored diss, which is totally appropriate seeing how Callahan spent a better part of this program selling Sally majorly. Also, Sally is like, what, a future APW Hall of Famer? She can take a few bumps from an upcoming dude with little to no credibility compared to her own. It's like saying, "Oh, Jericho losing to Sheamus, CM Punk and soon Orton is burial" No, he can afford the loses because he's already a well-made guy as is Sally.

The comment was made in relation to the mid-match and build up stuff where Callahan was going a bit nutty bar. This was a way to detatch himself and end his problems with Sally because he'd beaten her. He didn't see Sally as important to him and helping him in his path because he realised he could do it by himself. He's trying to emphasise that he's better than Sally, even though her accolades and strong showing in the fight says otherwise.

Anyone excited for Football Season? Heh speaking of tension...
Oh and I do have something to say that matters:
Like most PPVs, big matches offer close falls or pins a hundred different times throughout the match. OFTEN after a finisher which gets kicked out of and in a sense tarnishes the finisher's prestige. I was trying to take out the multiple close attempts to make it more of a chain match, nobody wanting to just win the match but Finish the opponent. I added the Violence (and not ECW violence or overboarded WWE Violence) because Asylum is the Violent Brand. If the match isn't without rules then a referee is getting knocked out to showcase that violence, even if it's just Wrestling Violence. Stiff Germans, DDTs off the ring apron, etc then that's enough for me. Hope that clears that up and maybe it's just me but Farquhar Vs. Callahan would provide some epic word exchanges...

Post by C.J. Gates on May 22, 2012 13:30:20 GMT -4
First off, let me say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the PPV. It was a great read and had many exciting matches throughout. Also, with all of your help, Jeff was able to get the PPV up early which definitely is better than having it go up later. So once again, well done.
Now, onto my mini-review (point form style because I'm lazy)...
-I've noticed it in this opening, and in a few openings recently, that sometimes things aren't as clean as they should be. In the opening, prior to the first bit, things like "APW President to you, MAYHEM!" and "And for the Mayhem side of things". Small things, really, but just some wording issues that could easily be tweaked.
-When I read this on my desktop, there were formatting issues and I had tiny little ?'s all over where, typically, apostrophes would be. It's probably something with my computer thought since my laptop isn't doing it as I currently write this lol
-I can see where people are coming from with the violence in the first match. It was expected to be a regular match, but because of who was involved it became something more. It would have almost been a better fit that, given the history the three of you had, to add the violence into the stipulation. The idea of Asylum being the more violent brand kind of got quelled when they became a brand of APW and got put on the Food Network. At least, that's the idea I got anyways. Overall it was a good match, can't complain too much about it, since it helps stamp home the fact that Kash is a dominant S.O.B.
-The Last Man Standing match was excellent. It definitely showcased the hatred between Dionysus and Harris, as well as giving both men some of the spotlight of the show for a great story they've told over the past few months. Definitely one of my favourite matches on the card.
-Segments. For the most part, they were all well done. I'll agree with Jules that we probably didn't need as many, but at least the majority of them hyped up an upcoming match. There were a few that probably weren't needed at all since they didn't really hype up a match and instead furthered a character, which can be done via house show RPs or a segment on the actual brand show the next time around. But that might just be me.
-I don't see the ending to Callahan/Talfourd as a burial. I can see why some might think it, but I also can see the other side of things. I guess it's one of those endings that doesn't really bother me too much since I saw it more as a guy with great talent and writing skill, winning over one of the best, putting the rest of that brand on notice. I didn't read it as much of a burial.
-I'll be honest, didn't exactly see the take out of Stan or the way things happened with Biggs during the tag title match. Always good when there are some unexpected moments in the show.
And since I have to run to class, I'll finish it off shorter then I expected to..
My hat goes off to Kurt Noble on the win. Definitely well deserved based on the roleplays you through out this week. Thoroughly enjoyed the feud and the story that we told during it, and had tons of fun with all the back and forth we did. I know some people might not be fans of how it ended, but I think it fits...or at least it shows that you can have two faces feud and end it with two faces. But again, congratulations Kurt!
To everyone else, well done. There were tons of great RPs, tons of great matches (LMS, Main Event, Overdrive Title match spring to mind initially) and everyone should be proud of their contribution to the show. Congratulations to all of the winners (and afer a show like that, we should all be winners).

It's like saying, "Oh, Jericho losing to Sheamus, CM Punk and soon Orton is burial" This is nothing like what I am saying. I've exaggerated how often Sally could lose and still be credible after it all. What you're saying is, "Callahan broke Sally's nail. HISSSS"
