Yeah, latest report is just he collapsed but he's come to. Just when I'm watching football, this shit happens! No commentary for the remainder of the show ... weird ... ! Hope all is okay though, been watching this dude since I began watching it.

Just heard about it. I hope hes okay (as okay as can be). Me too... the man is a wrestling legend (and a human being), and it really makes my heart sink when I think about the facts we know in this day and age about the wrestling buisness involving heart related issues and stuff like what could lead to a situation like this and knowing they... well... usually die.

Definitely discouraging to hear it, but from the last live report they did on the show, he's responsive and doing better than earlier. As Streets said-- he's a human being, so I hope he pulls through it.
Maybe the time off gives him time to make himself a half-decent commentator again. ;]

(This belongs on the Real Wrestling Section in the Lounge correct?)
WWE has staged "Real" incidents before so to say it's legit is iffy cause just cause they say it's legit means dick to me. Katie Vick was "REALLY" Kane's old girlfriend too right?

Katie Vick was "REALLY" Kane's old girlfriend too right? yeah but it seems their having the same attitude of specifically stating it isn't part of the entertainment as they did when chris benoit decided to murder his entire family and they had just assumed he was murdered or something and had that raw tribute show that they soon acted like didn't exist (I have a tape of it somewhere... I taped it because I knew there was obviously something very important happening no matter how vulgar it turned out to be)

you know, not to be bringing this type of shit up because it is so "touchy" or whatever, but I remember during that tribute show for beniot all the wrestlers crying at the camera and saying how much of a good, kind hearted, religious, etc, person Benoit was... it kind of made me wonder at the time how dumb and bad at judging a persons character or whatever everyone there was... I guess he technicly had brain damage but... they couldn't tell that interacting with him on a weekly/daily basis? I know its an old issue but... seriously... somethings up with that.

I think it was more like Anger Issues. Sometimes you're just mad, other times you can hide it, put on a mask to people. Other times you can black out and lose your marbles. His head issues were well hidden until the very end. Crappy situation for a great wrestler.

Its a shame that he's forever erased from the wrestling world... I have WWE Classics On Demand and even old WWF and WCW shows that they air have any segments or matches he was in completely edited out. I mean, I think it was horrible that Chris Benoit snapped and killed his family and I'm in no way trying to lessen this tragedy... but as fans, we're trained to enjoy the product we see on TV and told to, as much as possible, ignore the real life aspects of these people. And say what you want personally about The Rabid Wolverine (and keep in mind that none of us knew her personally or know exactly what the situation was that caused him to explode like this), and despite the fact that he sounded like a tool with a microphone in his hand (Chris Jericho's "Mr Roboto" promos in WCW were hysterical), he was probably one of the top four greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in a ring. Its a shame that my children will have no clue who he is unless I teach them.

I'm actually pretty sure that caption on that photo is wrong. I was watching back then and I was a pretty big fan of "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan... He used to have a bunch of valets and they misnamed that one. That indeed was Nancy Benoit but she was simply called Woman. Fallen Angel was a totally different girl.

Yeah I remember her as "Woman" as well. Sullivan/Benoit brawls were superior to anything else with aggression that WCW had been doing at the time. Their bathroom brawl was the very influence of Rico Casteel and Jason Kash's backstage brawl just a little more than a year ago today.

Latest news on Lawler is that ... well there's a couple of reports. I heard on the radio that they had put a stint in his heart or something of that and he was somewhat doing alright.
The other one was on twitter, saying they took him off ventilation, being that he was okay but they are concerned of brain damage.
... It continues...

I would guess that after this, Lawler will be leaving WWE even if he pulls out from this. So that leaves a HUGE spot to be taken for the Raw Announcing Team. With the rumor of Flair taking over General Manager for both Raw and Smackdown eventually, one has to wonder who would replace King? Sad but more than likely if he's got brain damage, his time on the road in any form is over. Very sad time for Lawler fans.

Sad for WWE, the announce team has not been the same since JR and Lawler. Now both are gone, at least the King kept a little bit of that flare alive. Now Cole is the main guy...Raw is fucked. The announce team makes the product, just my opinion.

Mick Foley. Someone who could take the job and make it a good fit. JBL although I'm sure he'd rather be on Smackdown cause it was "His Show" he was still a good commentator. There are veterans out there that can be used here as that is the kind of announcer they need here. Someone who has been in the ring and not just commentated on it.

The announce team makes the product, just my opinion. I know really, it was more enjoyable when there was no commentary during the last hour of the show... That's how pathetic of a job Michael Cole does... The King was great back in the day but wasn't very impressive during the "PG era"

NO WE DON'T...I was never a big fan of Edge. He never did ANYTHING better than someone else. The Rated R gimmick was the best thing he did. His spear sucked dick, his mic skills were good but again, there was always someone better. As a heel he was never the top Heel or the best one on the roster. As a face he was just bleh. Edge was good, Hall Of Fame worthy, not HoF the year he retires but eventually he had deserved it. WWE HoF is a joke. Period.

one thing he did better than most else was... wrestle. he had good matches... there's the period. He did the spear like he was supposed to, as to not hurt anyone like goldberg did every time he did it. It never should have been his finisher though. Those TLC matches stole the show. No one else ever came remotely close to what edge and christian, the hardys, and the dudleys did during the 3 real tlc's. So there's something he did better than EVERYONE. The reason they put him in the HOF so fast is because of the nature of the way he was forced to retire. Also the fact he's basically the last real wrestling star they ever made and may ever make (besides cena) But, I personally haven't actually even watched american wrestling for years in any manner except to laugh with my friends at how pathetically un-entertaining it is.
