Coming from England i'm a huge football/soccer fan and i've seen there are a couple fans of English football.
Thankfully my beloved Southampton got their first points/win of the season yesterday with a 4-1 win at home to Aston Villa to get us off the bottom of the table.
Going to the cup game on tuesday against Sheffield Wednesday, can't wait now

I didn't know the difference between european soccer leagues, I just thought it was one giant league until about 2007ish when the owner of a fed I was in went on a rant about his farmboys, Ipwhich, I was like, oh, what country is that and then he showed me a shit ton of EPL and I watch when I can.
Probably say Man City is my favorite team in the EPL.

Funny coming from a Brit on saying this but I can't stand football well any more. Back in the 90's. I was a huge fan of Tottenham and Brentford (Cos they are 10 minutes from where I live) when at the time football was an awesome sport to get into. Now it's pure garbage with money taking over and I find it boring to watch.

Not a bad time to be supporting Tottenham now... got a good team.
I'll be going to the Saints Spurs game end of October too

Sadly I gone off the sport now but they do seem like they have improved a lot now. Cool I think I been to a Southampton/Tottenham game in the past. Been to so many football games that I can't even count how many I been to.

Glory boys, the lot of you! And that's where I come in. Stoke City fan here. I'm used to disappointment but I feel with the way we've been playing lately, if we could just spring some cash for a decent up front that can finish with great goals we'd be unstoppable. Getting a goal past us (as was seen in our game against Chelsea this past Saturday) not mission impossible but mission very bloody difficult. It's just we can't convert our chances because we have Crouch (shit), Walters (shit) and Jones (lazy but amazing) who can't score goals to save their lives. The rest of the team though is a solid machine.

I'm from America where the NHL could be locked out for two more years (Which with Bettman is possible) and Soccer still won't be as popular as the NHL.
it'd be like you Brits cheering for The New England Patriots or Packers rather than Browns or Jags

I love ice hockey and I come from England and sadly that's not popular in the UK and I wish it was. I go to Germany to watch ice hockey matches though.

I'm from England and i could easily love Ice Hockey, but like you say no where to watch it, used to have a game on the older playstations though and they were good fun

It's quite sad actually because it really is such an exciting sport. It's like a minor sport in the UK. It sucks with that. There's barely any live coverage of Ice Hockey on telly at all.

Do you know what it's like to have never won a trophy since 1969?
Although we're winning the Europa this season. Easy.
4-2 today, class game. Cisse has scored the goal of the season

Unless you support Man U, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich, I think supporting any team is a hardship.
Could be worse, you could support Portsmouth. I would say it's a tragedy, but a nastier lot of twits you couldn't find.

The Championship is not a trophy I would consider winning as an achievement. I'm not bigging us up but on our wage budget we simply had to win it and we got the job done, otherwise we might be the ones doing a Portsmouth now.
We last won the league in 1927. I wonder why we never played each other in the Charity Shield, cos we didn't.

Considering Newcastle haven't won anything since the dinosaurs were around yet think they are a 'big club' you should be grateful for any silverware you can get your hands on.
By the way, we did contest (and win) the 1927 Charity Shield, but the format in those days was Pros v Amateurs. Cardiff were the professional team (as FA Cup winners), The Corinthians represented the amateurs.
