Got my role
Alright I counted 4 scum in the write up and 9 town players, (I'm counting "boy from district six" because unlike the other nameless people, BDS was in green and never died)
That's 13 known players, in order of appearance
Cato Katniss Everdeen Clove Rue Finnick Odair Mags Marvel Foxface Thresh Joannah Mason Peetah Mellark Glimmer Boy From District Six
My thinking is 13 town and 5 scum unless there is a third party, I have no background on this book series/movie as before the movie I never heard of it.
Vote: Bacon Because I still hate him

ok guys time to quit playing. i saw the movie, not read the book. my assumption is that there is no 3rd party since there wasnt any there (but i could be mistaken based on nite 1 when people have some info) im also thinking that there would be some awesome abilities since the people in the game had certain weapon specializations such as the archers and the dude who has strength and the ability to camo himself up. (genius i might add)

Like Knucks, I saw the movie and didn't read the books. My thinking is that there may, in fact, be a third party. Several somewhat-major characters are missing from the first write-up, probably because they weren't actively competing in the Games themselves. We're all just guessing at this point, but mine is that a third-party consisting of people that would want to dissolve the Games from the outside may in fact exist.
At any rate, we'll know more after the next write-up.

Just checking in quickly; buried at work. I have my role.
I'll add more on my thoughts on the flavor when I get home.

That's true. But we should start to figure stuff out now. Right now, the people that don't really sit well with me are Roy Speede and Yarmouth. I'd be willing to bet that at least one of them is scum.

Well for those of you who seen the movies... Peeta.... He plays both sides, he could always be third party if you think about it. At the same time.. his name was in green. But I know from past games I have played third parties merely have to survive is all... so it could be possible.

Not always. For example, a jester is a third party. A jester's objective is to get lynched. A lyncher's objective is to get somebody else lynched. Some third parties have their own objectives.

But I know from past games I have played third parties merely have to survive is all... so it could be possible. There are many different possibilities. Third party (though if he was I'd assume he'd be in a third party color), mole (I think I remember trolling a game on EFK where a townie was a member of the mafia in disguise) or it's setting up for a possible recruitment target. Kind of like if the mafia can find Peeta they can recruit Peeta into mafia. It's hard to speculate at this point, though.

I'll be off to work soon, so I may not post for the rest of the day. But I know from past games I have played third parties merely have to survive is all I was responding to this sentence. She said and I was letting her know that there are third parties that don't necessarily have to survive.

This thread blew up while I was in class... Dang... lol
Anyway, as far as the whole "third party" thing, I'm going to just say this- There is probably a third party that's a team all of its own in this one, like... Gamemakers, per say, who have similar abilities to those of the scum and send out mutts and ish like that, but at te same time, I think Gamemakers would end up all-powerful, and I think L1 has done enough research not to do something like that... So, possibly a Head Gamemaker sort of thing, but no guarantees.

So, these are just my suggestions, based upon the flavor. I'm only a few chapters in to the second book so there are a few characters that I can't speak upon.
Cato - I'm assuming Cato is going to be the Godfather. He's a career "tribute" and is probably the strongest player in the game.
Katniss Everdeen - the books are centered around her; but I'm not confident how her skills in-character would translate to Mafia. I'm also going to assume that she's in a mason group with Peeta as the two were the tributes from District 12 to survive the game. They have to prove to President Snow that they are married at the end of the first book, despite Katniss' affection for her friend Gale.
Clove -
Rue - It's possible that Katniss is associated with Rue as well. The two team up during the Hunger Games until Rue's caught in a trap and takes a spear in the stomach. Katniss covers her in flowers and offers a gesture to District 11 - the first sign of rebellion against the Capitol. During the game, Rue's sponsors send Katniss a gift inside the game to keep her alive. Otherwise, Rue will most certainly be town but I can't be confident in what kind of role she'd have here.
Finnick Odair - no clue. Mags - no clue. Marvel - no idea.
Foxface - She survives by following some of the other contenders in the Games; until she eats some poisonous berries that Peeta tucked away in his pack. The tracker role would fit here.
Thresh - A strong challenger from District 11; the same district as Rue. He killed Clove as she was preparing to kill Katniss, and spared Katniss when he found out that she was partnered with Rue. He spent the majority of the Games in tall grass, hiding, and waiting for the career tributes to come after him.
Joannah Mason - no idea.
Peetah Mellark - The other tribute from District 12; and teammate of Katniss. He is desperately in love with her but continuously shut-down. His skill inside the arena was to blend in with the backgrounds, so, perhaps he's the watcher? He won the games, but only because of Katniss' carrying him until the end. I'm sure he's in a mason group somehow with Katniss.
Glimmer - Another career tribute that died when Katniss dropped a nest of tracker jackets on top of her. Don't have a clue as to what she'd bring to the table.
Boy From District Six - no idea.
That's all I have at the moment. It'll be interesting to see how the flavor continues with a merging of the three books in to one story. In the meantime, the clock will continue to go tick, tock until it comes time for the night phase.

Who are you tsk tsking, you banned the greatest RPer this place have ever seen, Connor Ohaire! Did he even have a chance to write an RP ;D Yes! It was the greatest piece of writing ever to grace this board, before that, twas Harris' work. Back to the game, Brenden throwing suspicion on the two guys who said in the sign up they aren't very good in the game smells fishy to me. And not the good kind of fishy
