I haven't seen any of the Die Hard movies in probably 5 years or so. Probably should watch it again as well. The good/bad role reversal makes it tougher to wrap my head around too. I first saw Die Hard when I was like 6 years old. I didn't start cheering for the bad guys till I was at least 8 or 9.

IDK about a cult(though it does make sense) But there's def two third parties in there. I'm really wondering what the Mafia's role in this is, and how many there are. I'm thinking the breakdown is this.
2 mafia / 1 SK(McClain) / 1 Something Else (probably cult)
Not sure which SECOND character the mafia will be... not much makes sense.
I wouldn't be surprised to see McClain and Holly um.... linked somehow. I'm not sure how.... but being husband and wife might see something, I don't know.
Just theorizing here cause we got nothing else.

I'll tell you this, I'm going to miss 1000's of deadlines if I have to do the timezone math myself.

As John McClane and Holly Gennaro-McClane stare one another down, not sure whether to kiss or slap each other, their moment is destroyed by the sound of gun fire piercing the air. The rat-a-tat of an assault rifle shatters the mingling party environment and leads to a cacophony of screaming and terror. John immediately leaps into cop mode and whips his gun out ready to lay down the law.
Meanwhile, in the lobby... The scene unfolds as the source of the gunfire, a gang of armed terrorists consisting of Marco, Franco, Tony, Theo, Uli and Fritz along with Hans Gruber himself round up the party-goers in the lobby and position them near the water fountain.
Hans: Ladies and gentlemen, due to the Nakatomi Corporation's legacy of greed around the globe, it is about to be taught a lesson on real power. You...will be witnesses. If our demands are not met, however -- -- You may become participants instead. Now, where is...'Takagi'? Where is the man who... ...used to be in charge here?
Amongst the throngs of terrified Nakatomi employees is Joseph Takagi but in the face of terrorists, he is unwilling to step forward. It's not until somebody gives him a shove in the back and pushes him out into the open that Hans notices him.
Hans Gruber: Mr. Takagi... How do you do. My name is Hans Gruber.
Hans gestures towards the elevator with a courteous wave and walks ahead, signalling for Takagi to follow. Reluctantly, he does and the two along with Franco stand side by side as the elevator doors slide shut.
Hans Gruber: Nice suit. John Philips... London?
Takagi is stunned into silence, amazed by the refined taste of the terrorist holding him to ransom.
Hans: I have two myself. I'm told Arafat shops there.
With a wicked smile, the two head to a different floor to discuss privately. Back down stairs however, things are different. The building is on lock and the hostages are cornered, including Harry Ellis who's snorting a line of coke off of the edge of the fountain. Two guards, Uli and Fritz spread out to watch the hostages while the rest familiarise themselves with the building.
Marco is standing in the bathroom using the urinal when he spots the man in the mirror behind him, John McClane. He leaps out of his skin and attempts to around to attack but in his moment of vulnerability isn't quick enough to react and ends up getting his head smashed into the glass mirror by McClane. Blood leaks out of his face as Marco is thrown to the floor and beaten to death by a kicking, struggling, screaming Marco until there is nothing more but a lifeless body in the bathroom.
Marco is dead, but the sounds of violence have attracted attention and other terrorists are on there way to see to their fallen comrade... but the day has begun.
DEAD: Buckson Gooch, Marco, Town Watcher (NIGHT 1)
DAY TWO BEGINS AND ENDS ON JAN 9TH, AT 10PM GMT (5PM EST)

So the good guys are the bad guys, right?
I guess, if the write-up is to be taken at face value, we know McClane has a kill. Looks like we have a third party SK. The question is: is McClane the only person with a kill (given the flavour)?

I'm wondering if maybe the Mafia either DOESN'T have a kill or they have a EVEN night kill or something screwed up.

Sorry about the double post, touchy iPad.
So by my count we have 7 town, 2 mafia, 1 third party, and a serial killer revealed so far.

God I hope professor Snape can help us! I'm wondering if maybe the Mafia either DOESN'T have a kill or they have a EVEN night kill or something screwed up. I would think that either one of those things would put them at a big disadvantage in trying to out survive the town. If I had to guess I'd say it's more likely that the scum team didn't send their kill in before the deadline, but really it's all speculation at this point.

It doesn't make much sense. There has to be more going on behind the scenes but it helps none seeing as I know jack shit about the flavor.
What I do know is that the break down of 1sk, 2mafia and 1 purple - with only one kill on the night does not add up. If there is a third party then it's a cult and with every cult there is a recruitment process - either someone was recruited or an attempt was made.
So, we're probably looking at 1sk, 2mafia and 2 purple - says worst case scenario. Considering those three parties vote for the others anyways, we aren't in hot water as far as numbers go right now but we could be a few more days on down the line.
Lastly, I would agree with Reya and say it's likely that the mafia has a functional kill but was blocked or did not send in their action last night. Also it's possible all three parties alternate kills based on a chance percentage... as this set up somewhat resembles my MAFIA, MAFIA game - with the three separate crime families.

So here's what I got as far as listing goes
Hans Gruber Marco (Dead) Franco Tony Uli Fritz Theo Holly McCaine Takagi Harry Ellis McCaine
That's 11 of the 15 people shown. 10 of the 14 alive. I'm thinking, with a Serial Killer and a Cult
I'm doing my IMDB work, Harry Ellis was a businessman who could talk suckers into million dollar deals, so it makes sense that he's a cult leader.
I'm thinking 10/3/1/1 in terms of split.
Now, for the write up.
Looks like there is a silencer based these lines
Hans Gruber: Nice suit. John Philips... London?
Takagi is stunned into silence, amazed by the refined taste of the terrorist holding him to ransom. So heres the list
1. A.C. Smith 2. Billy Pepsi(X) 3. Bryan Deas 4. Chaz Dillinger 5. Crown Jules (X) 6. James V 7. KJE 8. Kurt Noble 9. Level One (X) 10. Mark Mania 11. Reya Serra(X) 12. Roy Speed 13. TJ (X) 14. T-Marv (X)
Anyone who doesn't check in, most likely was Takagi. There is a chance that it was also a roleblock by Hans on Takagi, given no kill by the mafia, which means if that's the case, whoever it was, don't speak up on that just yet, wait until everyone on the list has checked in.

Checking in.
Stinks that we lost our watcher. The good news is that, if TJ is right, we may have nailed Takagi. For night one, that's not a bad start (beats the crap outta the Batman game!).

Checking in.
And yeah, AC's right that, if we did manage to pinpoint our Takagi, we managed a pretty good start. If that's the case, we just need someone to speak up with who it is. I have nothing to report night one.

I have nothing to report from this past night. Losing our watcher is not a good thing though, but hopefully the other roles out there will help us out a bit. I think people might wind up playing things close to the chest for a bit more so after everything that went down last game, granted each game is different.

1. A.C. Smith(X) 2. Billy Pepsi(X) 3. Bryan Deas 4. Chaz Dillinger(X) 5. Crown Jules (X) 6. James V 7. KJE(X) 8. Kurt Noble 9. Level One (X) 10. Mark Mania 11. Reya Serra(X) 12. Roy Speede (X) 13. TJ (X) 14. T-Marv (X)
Alright so this leaves Kurt, Deas, JamesV, and Mark Mania left.
And Speede, no that person shouldn't come out with it just yet. That's gonna open them up to a NK, seeing how there is a SK who can kill and the possibility that the mafia can kill as well as the recruiter recruiting them. Sometimes a recruiter can recruit someone and they'll keep their role and sometimes they don't, so we need to be careful of that.

Yeah, probably should hold off on that for right now... So, sort of a newb question here, but if we get the our scum (the red), but not the blue (SK), do we still win, or do we have to hunt down the serial killer too?
