Also... MY character should have nothing to do with this randomness... I.e. who I am should not equate to random vote, I don't think. I'll have to do some more research to know for sure, but it's most likely not a character tie or a role tie for that matter.

Interesting couple of pages. I'm not sure what's going on with the entire vote count ordeal, glad to see that it was tested out. I'm torn between Bacon being the third man in, and Slater's no lynch agenda this early in day phase.

EBWOP The results of the latest votes suggest JamesV is correct in his analysis (or knowledge). I assume the mini write-ups Blade is giving us have some relevance, maybe to the votes as they are made. Anyone know something about the Heroes show and what light this may shed on the situation? Yeah I have seen that role before. It was only once but I have seen it before in games. I don't watch Heroes so I have no clue about any of the characters or what they do. I'll have to do some research.

Overly aggressive, trying to establish self as a town leader. Yup, like it. Have you even played with me before? I'm always aggressive. Speaking of bad voting patterns why did you vote for Bacon? Joke voting bandwagoneer. Moving on... This seems to be on Marv's end but I don't know if I'd chalk it up to random voting role. My gut is something else is going on with his votes but I doubt we'll get a full picture of it today. A random vote role just seems outright silly to me but we're not going to crack this today in my opinion.

I wonder how random Tmarv's votes are.
I mean, if he votes Level One again, will his vote show Atkens again? or will his vote be someone different. I just ask, cause, if he votes on Level One again, and again his vote shows up as Atkens, maybe Level One and Atkens are connected in some way. Or maybe if he votes for me, and his vote turns to someone else, maybe me and that person is connected, and we need to use the write ups to kinda figure it out.
Or maybe his votes are random and I'm just looking too much into it

Let me try this again.

Admittedly, a random vote role does sound silly. This is my first time, but I'd think any and all roles would be helpful and Marv being unable to focus his vote seems more a hindrance. I know this heroes connection is a curveball, but I'm sure the roles are within the normal realm of the game. Or im an idiot. Your call.

Action on day one? Never!
Before I skip past the joke votes and nitpicking; the only thing that has stood out there is Bacon's third vote (after the two joke votes that proceeded it) on Noble... bandwagon fail?
Wrong. There's town related roles that hinder the town in plenty of games as it always spices things up a bit. Most times, a townie has NO vote; don't see why this is out of the realm of possibilities.
My opinion is that T-Marvs vote goes to a random person although I don't know why one of his votes didn't count at all; assuming his vote is determined by random draw the only other explanation is that a ''no vote'' outcome is mixed in there to be drawn.
Anyways, that's all I have for now. After Blade confirms T-marv's last vote on me we'll see what sort of result it yields.

UnvoteAfter all this time spent being away from the game, I realized the hypocrisy of my earlier statement against Dynamo when I said that jumping to conclusions wasn't going to get anyone anywhere, and proceeded to vote against him in a joking manner from his point against me. If I had a semblance of intelligence before, it's probably all been drained at this point by that switch in opinion alone. Now ... what should we do? Play, or continue going on about if Tmarv's vote disappeared by accident or on purpose?

very interesting how it went back to Atkins after marv voted L-O. 1 of these 3 is scum. Very interesting indeed. I agree with this. And I think I have it figured out after reading Rebels post earlier about the games characters. I never watched the show; but heroes fans beside J-Reb... what characters do you think are most likely to be the bad guys in this game? I believe my characters connection with one of them may yield some answers.

vote:Level One I wikipedia'd the show, and Rebek forgot about Adam Monroe, a primary villian of Season 2 with cell regeneration, essentially immortal.
If TMarv voted for someone (L1 was his last vote, right?) and the vote got re-shifted, it may not be TMarv, it may be that who he voted for is scum with regen (or Town with regen, to be fair).
So I'm not saying L1 = scum; I'm just saying let's see what another attempted vote on him accomplishes.

Uh yeah, it's definitely not me. My role is all town, and has nothing to do with my vote. My character has nothing to do with my vote. Either someone is fucking with me intentionally, or there's some hidden reason behind my wicked voting. But until I figure it out, I'm a hindrance as a voter.
Unvote
Also, here's a summary of what happened....
I voted L1 as a joke.... Real Vote: No One
I voted President Jeff to see what would happen Real Vote: Atkens
I unvoted and then voted level 1 again Vote Stayed: Atkens
since there is no direct correlation between who I voted for and who gets the votes (i.e. no pattern.) this leads me to believe that somebody is stealing my vote and putting it on whoever they want.

possible villins based on the first 2 seasons....
Sylar Adam Monroe Linderman
There's more, but I can't be sure. All I know is I want Sylar's head on a silver platter.....before he blows up and kills the world.
I'm very interested to know hiro's power in game (he was a time travler) I'm very interested to know Sylar and peter petrelli's powers in the game (they basically absorbed powers from others, peter by just being around them, sylar by killing them) I'm fairly sure Linderman is a rolestealer(in the show he was taking away powers....i guess he could also be construed as an absorber too) Claire (the cheerleader) is most likely indestructable except by some wierd means by sylar... idk. The Hatian is a role blocker. In the show nobody around him could use their powers. Horned Rimmed Glasses Guy (for some reason can't remember his real name) Is some sort of investigative role. Could either be a cop or a watcher.

I didn't think it was random, I thought something else was going on. Now, if we assume normal mafia play, we haven't had a night 1, so if someone was stealing and redirecting votes it would have to be a day action and to be honest, a ballsy one at that.
However, Knuckles pushing for "one of these guys must be scum, right???" makes me think something else is certainly going on and Knuckles as scum has leaped at the opportunity to pidgeonhole discussion. Now I just have to wonder if scum would be as blatant as that on day 1.
However to help testing with the theories, it appears my vote on James has had no issues but to just see if we're all tied in some way
vote: TMarv

Also, if we have a Claire, no doubt that's our bulletproof.
Now, here's a thing I wonder. If there was a Sylar, which there more than likely is, would he operate within a scum team or would he be a third party considering his character in the show. Certainly in the first season anyway, haven't seen anything beyond that. (yes, I do enjoy third party discussions, shut up)

Not only Sylar we want on the silver platter..The other villain is the woman with a split personally Jessica/Niki she was a Hired assassin for the Linderman Group. Which could be the Mafia assassin.

OK... not real comfortable with the TWO test votes on me! Feels like the beginnings of a bandwagon to me.
I love all the activity on Day 1... This is easily the best day 1 I've ever played as you all know that it's my least favorite phase of the game.
Unfortunately this day phase is becomming more and more confusing....and I'm gonna be pissed if this stupid ass voting thing that I have no control over gets me lynched on day one.

(yes, I do enjoy third party discussions, shut up) Just based on numbers, this is one of the largest Mafia games we've had here that I can remember... so, it wouldn't surprise me to see a third party. L1 took us for a loop in Mafia Mafia where we were all a part of a Mafia family working against one another; the setup for this game lends itself to be a similar situation. There would be the Heroes, The Company (including Noah Bennett, Matt Parkman and The Haitian) and then Sylar as the third party/vigilante. Right now, I'm leaning towards TMarv as either scum or third party. It looks like he's activated some kind of weird voting role that I'm not familiar with. I'm going to guess there are no vanilla roles in this game, so he's got something to hide.

So I'm not saying L1 = scum; I'm just saying let's see what another attempted vote on him accomplishes. I already tried this.
Vote count:
1 - James V [Atken] 1 - Knuckles [Jeff] 2 - Noble [Metro, Bacon] 1 - Phil Atken [T-marv] 1 - Jeff [Rebel] 1 - Level One [Farquhar]
Not Voting [ L-1, CJ, Knuckles, Kris, Hometown Heroes, JamesV, Matt Slater, Biggs, Dynamo, Noble]
With 17 alive its 9 to Lynch
Mod Note 1) Yes this vote count is correct
My vote on L-1 counted which suggests the reason lies with T-Marv, or there is some connection between the character of T-Marv and the character of L-1. I would be very surprised if the vote comes back any different to be counted. I'm fairly sure Linderman is a rolestealer(in the show he was taking away powers....i guess he could also be construed as an absorber too. In the mini-write up Linderman's was in white not green, does this suggest Linderman is not an active character in this game? Any thoughts? Right now, I'm leaning towards TMarv as either scum or third party. It looks like he's activated some kind of weird voting role that I'm not familiar with. I'm going to guess there are no vanilla roles in this game, so he's got something to hide. What about Ando? He was green in a write-up, which suggests an active town player. My research (Wikipedia) says that Ando had no initial powers, but acquired them later. Could this role be vanilla to begin with, but with some way to unlock a power later in the game? ---- At the moment T-Marv is definitely the player of interest because his behaviour sparked the interest, although its too early and we don't have enough information to start pointing fingers. I'm curious about the connection with L-1 and Atken though. Hopefully the night give us something more concrete.

Jules1) I'll buy that voting L1 will do nothing, and Rebel voted for Jeff so let's try something different: unvote vote: KrisIn a day 1 chock full o' finger-pointing and experimentation, silence just became suspicious. 2) I'm going to play "lazy optimism" and assume no 3rd party because simple mafia v town is confusing enough once superpowers are added. Therefore, I'm going to assume that Blade is helping us elimate characters by putting them as white and therefore out of play. A clear villain, Linderman as a third party is nonsensical. As for Ando, I know he got superpowers later, so, for now, I'll buy the notion that everyone has some level of powers. It's not that hard to turn any and all superheroes/villains into some logical mafia role. But that does pose a question: can there be a scum bulletproof (Adam Monroe) and if so, how would the townies off him, because the scum have to be completely eliminated to claim town victory, right?

Bulletproof power, as I understand it, means you cannot be night killed, but you can still be lynched; that is how you deal with them. If it does transpire that there is a scum bulletproof the obvious logical leap is that there is a third party. But at the moment this possibility gets no further than idle speculation.
