SPACEBALLS 2: The Quest For More MoneySetting - Planet Spaceball President Skroob and Dark Helmet are gathered around the conference table, snorting the last of canned air they can find laying around. President Skroob: That’s it, we’re all out of canned air. We have to do something soon or Planet Spaceball is DOOMED! Dark Helmet: (muttering under his breath) We were doomed when you took office. President Skroob: What was that? Dark Helmet: Ah… I said with you in office I’m sure we’ll have a solution anytime now. President Skroob: If it wasn’t for that damned Lone Starr, we would have all the air we could ever have wanted. But that punk and his little mawg pal ruined everything. Think, Think, there has to be a plan. Dark Helmet: Well, we could always kidnap the Princess again and force her father to give us the new password. President Skroob: Wasn’t that the plot of the first movie? Dark Helmet: Who cares… it’s the name that sells, not the plot. President Skroob: That’s tempting, but we both know Lone Starr will just rescue her again. They both stop for a second and try to come up with a better plan. They both think of something at the same time and look at each other. President Skroob: AH HA! Dark Helmet: Are you thinking what I’m thinking? President Skroob: Instead of messing with this kidnapping business, Why don’t we just kill them all and then take their air! Both Skroob and Helmet immerse in loud evil laughter, both trying to upstage the other with bigger and better laughs. The camera zooms in on them laughing until it crashes into them and knocks them both of their feet. Angered, Dark Helmet points his ring at the cameraman’s crotch and a green beam shoots out causing excruciating pain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MEANWHILE – On a Starship somewhere in the Galaxy. The Son of Infamous mobster Pizza the Hutt, and his partner, metallic gangster Vinnie, appear on the tellatron with a message to our heroes. Pizza the Hutt II: Lone Starr…. I know you’re out there and you can hear me. You will pay for what you did to my father, and the MILLION space bucks that you owed him. Interest has been compounded, so make that 1 BILLION space bucks. Vinnie: What my Delicious friend here is trying to say, is that your 30 minutes are up and it’s time you delivered. Pizza the Hutt II: On second thought…keep the money. It’ll be much more satisfying to kill you instead. Vinnie: Get ready Lone Starr….Pizza is sending out for you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On board the Tricked out Flying Winnebagostarsmedia.ign.com/stars/image/article/846/846996/eagle-5-spaceballs-001_1201053368.jpg [/img] Captain Lone Starr and his best friend Mawg are returning from a voyage to the space Market with Groceries for both Princess Vespa and her Robo-nanny Dot when suddenly their ship begins taking fire. Captain Lone Starr: Now what? Is it those damned Spaceballs again? Mawg looks at the radar screen. Barf: No sir, it looks like Pizza the Hutt ship… could his son be after you in revenge for his father after you stiffed him on the space bucks which led to his over depressive appetite thereby resulting in his death of eating himself? Captain Lone Starr: Nice plot summary. Their laughter is cut short as another shot rocks the Winne and a piece of the ship falls toward Lone Starr. Barf: NOOOOO!!! Barf dives at Lone Starr and knocks him out of the way as the debris falls on him and crushes him. Lone Starr rushes to his pals aid only to realize that he is DEAD. Captain Lone Starr: WHY! Why Barf! I’m sorry buddy, I’ll miss you. Barf: Why? Where’d I go? Barf emerges from behind Lone Starr eating a bowl of dog food. Lone Starr looks down at the dead mawg under the rubble, rolls him over and we see that it isn’t Barf at all, but a look alike dressed just like him. DEAD – Barfolamew’s Stunt Double – TmarvDay 1 starts now – 15 alive 8 to lynch. ALIVE: 1. Jules(Farq) 2. Kurt Noble 3. C.J. Gates 4. Saltal 5. A.C. Smith 6. Knuckles 7. Callahan 8. Level One 9. Very informative first write-up in terms of characters. So we're split 50/50 Mafia/Third-Party it seems.

All roles are now sent... please PM me if you didn't get one.
I'll be checking in every couple hours with the first vote count (if there is one) to come tonight.
I recomend READING (not skimming) the rules as there are some changes.

9. At the end of the day phase if a lynch has not been meet then the person with the most number of votes WILL BE LYNCHED! If you want nobody to lynch then you must - Vote: No Lynch. First of all, role received. Second of all, this rule. Is this a common feature of Mafia games? I have a feeling that it can be potentially gamebreaking. With that said; Vote: No Lynch

Should make the game very interesting.

Half a joke, half a 'lets have a no lynch so me and my scum buddies can kill' kind of vibe there Michael.

Why vote for a no-lynch on day one when all that would do is give the scum a head start? I get anything done on day one is a shot in the dark, but wouldn't this be giving in to exactly what the scum players want us to do?

I got my role.
A third party in addition to the traditional mafia & town. If both third party and scum factions can both kill - or if the third party can recruit town players we cant afford to sit around and do nothing. However...
We also cant blindly jump on votes not backed by any hard evidence which has always resulted in the death of a townie.
The only thing that gives the scum a head start is townies starting a lynch on another townie. And if this DOES happen given the specific rules outlined about how lynches work this game - each one of those players need to be scrutinized.
So, I too am not looking for a lynch today unless some major BS comes about this day phase in regards to the votes.

Dark Helmet: Ah, planet Druidia. And under that air shield, ten thousand years of fresh air. We must get through that air shield! Colonel Sandurz: [Summing up the evil plan of the movie] We will, sir. Once we kidnap the princess, we can force her father, King Roland, to give us the combination to the air shild, thereby destroying Planet Druidia and saving Planet Spaceballs. Dark Helmet: [to camera] Everybody got that? Dark Helmet: Good. When will the princess be married? Colonel Sandurz: Within an hour, sir. Dark Helmet: Well I hope it's a long ceremony, 'cause it's gonne be a short honeymoon. [laughs "evil"] VOTE COUNT: No Lynch - 1 (Callahan)

The Vote of No Lynch is my small contribution to prevent the mindless bandwagons that occur early on because (unless I've misinterpreted the rule), whoever has the most votes at the end of the day gets killed regardless if there's a majority and seeing a Day 1 town lynch would be shite, especially given how horrible Town have been in the last two Mafia's.

lol. Spaceballs 2: The Search for more money is the name given to it by Yogurt in the movie. this is very true... however.... there were rumors of a second movie being entitled SPACEBALLS 3, the search for SPACEBALLS 2 then they were gonna go aheas with SB2: the search for more money. reason it didnt happen was cuz mel brooks (god) decided he didnt wanna movie trilogy like everybody else.

Something tells me joke voting is a no go this time around lol But in all seriousness, I can see where Callahan is coming from as far as the fact that a lynch WILL happen at the end of the day and he's trying to be proactive. Not always a good idea, though. Oh, and I got my role.

Great job on the write-up, you did an awesome job for those who haven't seen Spaceballs (shame on you if you haven't!)
Other than that, I don't really want to no vote immediately. I can see it's benefits, but for now, I'm definitely staying away from the no vote option.

Got my role, the write-up is aces, and to answer the question, the lynch rule that changed for this game is not common, but is not unheard of either.
Personally I think we should be more aggressive this game than before, given that we are apparently dealing with more than the usual amount of anti-town players; our odds of hitting a home run on day one are greater if that's true.
Personally I don't know if it is. Only four anti-townies are described in the write-up. For a game of 15, 4/15 (26.66667%), that's a typical ratio, so we still have a 74-ish percent chance of lynching a townie.
We have time to sniff about, so I'll come back later once things have happened.
Other than Callahan that is.

The fact that you ignored that there was a third party faction is setting off major alarm bells with me. TOO obvious there are three factions. Also getting major town vibes from Kaji. He's right. We need to be more aggressive other than going the pussy route and hesitating. Jules is the best option right now BY FAR just for this post. It sounds like he's suggesting one big mafia instead of three seperate factions as everyone else is saying. That to me says it all. I think it was done on purpose hence my vote.

Checking on.
But I need to ruin the party: Can someone answer these question for me about the 'No Lynch':
1) If a majority of people got vote n lynch, does that end the day and we go to night? 2) If someone has the most votes (but not enough for a lynch) and one person has voted for a no lynch, is that enough to stop the person with the most vets being killed at the end of the day?

Let me just clarify that line, for the benefit of any pedants: "I would think it obvious that any use of the term 'scummers' encompasses all anti-town factions in the game."

Correct. The person with the most voted at the end of the day will be lynched. So If No Lynch is the 'person' with the most votes, we will still head to night phase but with no lynch occuring
