LA NOIRE MAFIA RULES

1. This is LA Noire Mafia! This is a game of the LAPD Task Force vs. The Suburban Redevelopment Fund in the “Noble Burial” Case (read the first write-up). The LAPD Task Force is in green, and the SRF is in red. Any additional character colors will be a color of my choosing.

2. You may NOT quote any PM’s you receive in the game!

3. A day phase ends when a player has been lynched with the proper number of votes. Night then begins, and the cycle continues until the game is over. During the night, you may send in night actions. PM them to me as LA NOIRE MAFIA NIGHT # ACTION, or something similar.

4. You may role-claim when you have reached half the necessary number of votes needed to be lynched. 7 regular votes = can role-claim at 4. Character claiming instantly gets you mod-killed.

5. All Days will have a 72 hour time-limit that I will keep track of. Nights will be 24 hours. The Day and Night are not officially over until called, so resume the status quo until I (the mod) call a time change! However, votes cast AFTER the daytime stamp has passed will not be counted, nor will night actions.

6. Nights may be shortened if all necessary night actions are received before the 24 time limit is up. Nights may also be extended if I’m not around, but I ask that you be patient in the meantime!

7. You are not lynched until I confirm this. That means after the number of votes needed has been reached, you may continue to talk until I make it official. Please see the end of Rule #5.

8. Please don’t post when you’re dead!

9. I expect you to be active. 48 hours (or 2/3 of a day phase) without a post will get you a prod. An additional 24 hours without a post will get you mod-killed, ending the daytime. Not posting Day 1 will get you modkilled/replaced. If an issue has arisen and you can’t participate in the game, PM me and we’ll find you a replacement.

10. DO NOT EDIT YOUR POSTS. The first time is a warning. The second time is being stripped of your powers for a full day/night. Third time is a mod-kill.

11. All posts must contain visible letters. No text that needs to be highlighted, or small text. Coding of messages, images, videos, etc. are allowed.

12. Be courteous to other players and the mod. No insults or demeaning another player.

13. A mod-kill immediately ends the day, or night-time if it is night. You can be killed during the night by talking. One post gets you a warning, second posts strips you of your powers for a day/night, third is a mod-kill. If you have no power to take, you’re mod-killed instead. Just don’t break the rules!

14. You can only vote for people in the game, and the vote must be bolded. Vote: Kurt Noble

15. Please unvote if you change your vote. I’ll still count the changed vote even if you don’t unvote, but it helps me keep the game organized.

16. You may share any information from your night actions/day actions/role post…but you CANNOT officially claim your role until you have the amount of necessary votes (IE Rule 4). PM me if you have any info you’re wondering if you can share or not.

17. Regular Mafia rules apply (this is in-case I forgot anything or didn’t explain anything!).

Case: “The Noble Burial”

Night 0

The rain pounded against the pavement as Curtis Noble ran down the sidewalk, bursting past any and all pedestrians in his way. He did not protect his face or body from the torrential weather, only the manila folder tucked away under his coat. He stopped under building awning, and turned back, seeing no figures behind him.

Curtis Noble: Christ almighty…the devils are gone. I’ve got to get this folder to the LAPD! I finally got them…this is going to make my career!

Curtis Noble looks down at the folder, and scans the title outlined in bold red letters…

The Suburban Redevelopment Fund

Curis Noble looked around, confident that he was no being followed. He began to walk towards the street, and hailed for a cab. After flagging one down, he sat inside and clutched the folder to his chest. The driver glanced in the windshield.

?: So where will it be tonight?

Curtis Noble: Central Station of the LAPD. I’ve got to meet with the Chief!

The driver grins, and turns to face Curtis Noble.

?: I’m afraid…the Chief doesn’t want to see you. He’s a little busy right now. But, I know someone who does want to see you…

Curtis Noble’s eyes go wide as another man enters the cab, and sticks a gun in Curtis Noble’s face.

Curtis Noble: Oh God...no...!

?: Take us to the cemetery. This one’s got a date there…

7:45 AM

James Donnelly: Quiet down everyone, and stop that horseplay in the back. We’ve serious business to discuss.

Homicide Captain James Donnelly faces several men and women before him in the conference room of the LAPD Central Station. In the back, a head pops up amongst the crowd.

Roy Earle: Must be important if you rolled Biggs off his fat ass and into work early. I take it we’re not getting overtime for this?

Herschel Biggs snarls at Roy Earle, who grins as he leans back in his chair. James Donnelly points to the back.

James Donnelly: Another word out of you, and you’ll be facing the hand of God before it even reaches 8. Now, I’m sure you’re all wondering why I’ve called you here. This morning, the body of independent journalist Curis Parker was discovered in a cemetery over on Hollywood.

Roy Earle: Seems to me like that’s where most people dead people end up, don’t you think?

James Donnelly: Except Mr. Noble wasn’t dead when he got there…the poor man was buried alive.

Murmurs roll through the crowd, but James Donnelly silences them.

James Donnelly: the LAPD is very much aware that Mr. Noble was about to release information about corruption within the LAPD. So, to demonstrate to the press and the fine city of LA, I’ve put together a task force to solve this murder before talk of a cover-up gets wind in the news. I’ve assembled you all as part of that task force, with this man assisting me in leading you all…

James Donnelly points to the man in the first row…Detective Cole Phelps. A light round of applause starts as Phelps nods his head.

Cole Phelps: I’m just doing my job Captain.

James Donnelly: Then you better do it well son. We need some good press on this one. Malcolm Carruthers is already on the scene Get down there are as soon as you can…and raise some Hell gentlemen. The City of LA depends on it.

Cole Phelps faces the many faces of the LAPD Task Force who will be assisting him in discovering who murdered Curtis Noble…
