SAW MAFIA RULES

1. This is a game of the Players vs. The Jigsaw Apprentices. The Players are Town/Green, the Jigsaw Apprentices are Mafia/Red. I’m the mod/Jigsaw!

2. For any confusion, testing = lynched….just in case you were confused!

3. A day phase ends when a player has been lynched/tested with the proper number of votes. Night then begins, and the cycle continues until the game is over. During the night, you may send in night actions. PM them to me as SAW MAFIA NIGHT ACTION.

4. You may role-claim when you have reached half the necessary number of votes needed to be tested/lynched. 7 regular votes = can role-claim at 4. Character claiming instantly gets you mod-killed.

5. All Days will have a 72 hour time-limit that I will keep track of. Nights will be 24 hours. The Day and Night are not officially over until called, so resume the status quo until I (the mod) call a time change!

6. Nights may be shortened if all necessary night actions are received before the 24 time limit is up. Nights may also be extended if I’m not around, but I ask that you be patient in the meantime!

7. You are not tested/lynched until I confirm this. That means after the number of votes needed has been reached, you may continue to talk until I make it official.

8. Please don’t post when you’re dead!

9. I expect you to be active. 72 hours (or one full day phase) without a post will get you a prod. An additional 72 hours without a post will get you mod-killed, ending the daytime. If an issue has arisen and you can’t participate in the game, PM me and we’ll find you a replacement.

10. DO NOT EDIT YOUR POSTS. The first time is a warning. The second time is being stripped of your powers for a full day/night. Third time is a mod-kill.

11. All posts must contain visible letters. No text that needs to be highlighted, or small text. Coding of messages, images, videos, etc. are allowed.

12. Be courteous to other players and the mod. No insults or demeaning another player. It’s just a game after all! *knee-slap*

13. A mod-kill immediately ends the day, or night-time if it is night. You can be killed during the night by talking. One post gets you a warning, second posts strips you of your powers for a day/night, third is a mod-kill. If you have no power to take, you’re mod-killed instead. Just don’t break the rules!

14. You can only vote for people in the game, and the vote must be bolded. Vote: Kurt Noble

15. Please unvote if you change your vote. I’ll still count the changed vote even if you don’t unvote, but it helps me keep the game organized.

16. You may share any information from your night actions/day actions/role post…but you CANNOT officially claim your role until you have the amount of necessary votes (IE Rule 4). PM me if you have any info you’re wondering if you can share or not.

16. ***Please PM me if you have any questions related to the game or your role that need clarifying. This is my first time modding a game, so I apologize if I make a mistake. I’ll buy you a kitten to make up for it!

17. Regular Mafia rules apply (this is in-case I forgot anything or didn’t explain anything!).

SAW Mafia
Day 1: The House

The lights flicker on in the abandoned mansion. Around the main living room are 13 individuals, all of which appear unconscious. After a few moments, the inhabitants of the room begin to wake-up. Before any deliberation can be done by the confused inhabitants of the room, a television in the corner of the room lights up.

Jigsaw: Greetings everyone…and welcome. I want to play a game. I trust that right now you are all wondering where you are. I can assure you that while your location is not important, what these walls offer for you is important. Salvation…if you earn it. There is only one way to escape the walls around you: you must survive tests that will determine if you are worthy of possessing the body you own.

Several members of the room begin to pound on the wall, but it’s a useless attempt.

Jigsaw: To survive this game, you must eliminate my apprentices that seek to put you into traps hidden around the house. While all of these traps are survivable, your greatest chance at survival is to root out my apprentices. Their aim is this game it to test you.

Many members of the room begin to move away from one another, their eyes filled with distrust. Suddenly, a nearby door opens, revealing a small, dark room.

Jigsaw: While you may be individuals with your own troubled pasts, today, you must act as a group in order to survive. If one of you should receive the majority of votes, you will be tested. After every day, I will allow you to roam this mansion in search of the truth…but be careful. Obstacles await you around every corner, and your demons have followed you all to this house. You will return to this room during the day. I have given each of you necessary information to survive in your back pockets…

Each player reaches into their back pocket, and begins to read a note they were given.

Jigsaw: Do with this information what you will, but know that no one player can save everyone. In order to survive, you must understand what it means to think as a group. Your first individual test waits in the next room. Eliminate my apprentices, and you are free to go. So, I ask all of you: What will you do to survive? Let the game begin.

Suddenly, a clock begins on the wall, and each of the players begins to scramble about…

Never said you mentioned the write up, I said the movies may not be your faves, but I feel the write up and rule pm was well written.

Are you dense? I mentionned the fact I think the movies are total shit (which they are) and you mentionned the write-up and made it seem like I insulted them in my opinion. Then I call you out on it and you call me defensive despite the fact you took my comment out of context to use it for your own end. Calling me defensive this early in a game tells me that A) you want me gone quickly or B) you want the attention off of you and onto me which means you have something to hide.

If not, then you are reading way too much into my comments. Maybe not the defensive comment, because even your latest post seemed like you were trying to defend yourself over something that only you seem to think is an attack on you.

My point of view is that you made a comment that made it seem like I was insulting the write-up when I insulted the movie series. To me it made it appear like I was disrespecting the mod and then you tried to use it as part of your gameplay. That's just how it appears to me.

Flavour of the game is not the game, roles and actions of people is the game. We could all be playing "Dirk Strongjaw: Moon Ranger Mafia" and it wouldn't matter a jot whether people considered it a masterpiece of cinematic genius or not, it would not be linked to their role and it would not be linked to how they were playing.

So no, it has nothing to do with the actual game of mafia we are playing right now.
