The sound of a car door slamming shut is heard outside of the Dojima residence. Nanako and Yu are both sitting in the living room, so when they hear the door, they both stand up, moving to the entryway as they hear the door slide open.
"This doesn't make any damn sense! He killed two people in April, stopped for seven months, and now there are suddenly four more victims in two days?"
Detective Dojima stomps into the house, tossing his jacket on the table. His eyes glance over Yu for the briefest moment before falling on Nanako. His anger fades away as he smiles down at his daughter, putting on the best front of strength and composure he can.
"Have you eaten yet, Nanako?"
She sees right through it.
"Daddy, I'm scared."
Dojima smiles wryly, kneeling down next to her.
"I'm scared too, Nanako. I'm scared too. But I'm going to get the bad man that's doing this, if it's the last thing I ever do. So you just keep doing things like you normally do, and everything's going to be okay."
"When?"
Dojima raises an eyebrow. "When what?"
Nanako whimpers before finally responding with "When is it finally going to be okay?"
This gives Dojima pause, and for good reason. His answer is to stand up. "If you've eaten, I need you to brush your teeth and head to bed, okay?"
Nanako doesn't seem pleased with this order, but she does as she's told. With her out of the room, Dojima turns to Yu.
"Have a seat."
Yu nods and sits down at the table, as bidden. Dojima goes to check on Nanako, making sure she's okay and going to bed as she's supposed to.
About fifteen minutes later, Dojima emerges from the stairway and sits down at the kitchen table across from Yu. His eyes are bloodshot, there are bags under his eyes from sleep deprivation, and hard lines are starting to form around his eyes and mouth.
Dojima is aging years in days.
That said, the eyes are still sharp, and he turns them on Yu, a stern expression on his face.
"Three of your friends have died in two days. I've suspected you've been involved in the case for a while now, but I haven't questioned you because of everything you've done for Nanako and me, but if you try to deny it now, you'll just be making a fool of yourself."
Yu casts his gaze to the table between them. Dojima nods a bit to himself.
"I'm not going to bust your balls because I know this has been hard on you as well, but you need to tell me everything you know. How are you involved in the case?"
Yu hesitates briefly, thinking his uncle will just think he's crazy, but Dojima slams his fist on the table.
"Damnit, Yu, four people have died in the last two days! It took four days for the first two incidents, which occurred right after you came to town. Then they stopped for seven months and now four more people are dead, including the only half-decent suspect we had for the first case!"
Yu reels back from the force of Dojima's shouts, and the conviction in them. His uncle notices this and takes a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He manages to compose himself, but there is still a great deal of anger and desperation in Dojima's voice when he speaks again.
"Yu, I am trying to keep more of your friends from dying. Tell me what you know."
So Yu told him everything. About personas, about going into TVs and emerging in an alternate reality, about rescuing people when they get thrown in by the killer, about how the TV they were using has been destroyed and the person that could fix it is among the victims, about how all the fog means those that get thrown in this weekend have died much faster than other victims thrown in because the shadows are agitated.
After his nephew has finished explaining everything he knows or has done, Dojima furrows his brow, trying to take it all in.
"Is there a way for you to prove it to me without going into that TV world and...you know..."
Yu knew. He nods, then stands up, going over to the living room television. He puts his hand on the television screen, resting it on the glass.
"That's not a portal to a parallel dimension." Dojima furrows his brow, starting to get upset again. "Were you yanking my chain just--"
Then Yu jams his hand through the screen. Rather than breaking into a million shards of glass and shocking him to death, the screen sort of ripples black and white as he holds his arm inside the TV. Dojima is understandably dumbfounded.
"I...see..."
Dojima runs a hand through his hair, trying to comprehend everything he's seen and heard as Yu comes back over to the table.
"So the perp is someone else who can do that. That isn't part of your little adventuring team, that is."
Yu nods. Dojima laughs dryly.
"How the hell am I supposed to find someone like that?"

It was an exhausting night, but one that Yu felt was ultimately useful. Now that his uncle knew about everything, he should be able to help them catch the killer. Tonight was the last night of forecasted fog, so hopefully no one got thrown in, so that they could meet up and discuss everything.
The sirens that blared around Inaba and rudely woke Yu and the rest of town said otherwise.
It was a somber breakfast that morning in the Dojima residence. Yu and Nanako are sitting at the table while Dojima talks on his cell phone, clearly being updated on the situation before he goes in to work. Once he is off the phone, his cell closed and in his pocket, Nanako poses the obvious question.
"Who was it this time, Daddy?"
Dojima is particularly shaken up this morning.
"They got Shirogane..."
Dojima takes a deep, shuddering breath, trying to compose himself.
"The kid didn't do anything wrong...she was just overzealous. What did she do to deserve this?"
"Daddy...?"
Dojima furrows his brow, nodding to himself before turning to the table. "Both of you, get dressed. I'm taking you to the station. No one is going to hurt you there."
"What are you going to do while we stay at the station?"
Dojima furrows his brow, gritting his teeth. "I'm going to catch this son of a bitch and put him in an early grave."
If I'm not put there first, that is...

I've got some info for you guys.
Remember how I've been trying to find the Godfather? Well, I just used my night action on a certain person...and the kill did not happen.
This means that the person I used my night action on, Aspen, is the Godfather...or the Godfather is inactive and didn't send in a kill. That might lean suspicion towards JC, Atkens, or maybe Rhonda... but they've all been decently active on the boards in the last day. I think she's our Godfather.
Vote: Aspen
This is just one vote...so you've got time to defend yourself.

VOTE: RebelHe is 100% Mafia... a little birdy told me last night. It's obvious he's an insane cop... I have been a part of one kill this game. ONE! And I wasn't the only one as there were several others waiting to tie a noose around Alex's neck. The only defense I have is that I can explain the secret vote during Alex's lynching was mine. It was a double vote that I had once in the game; hence why I chose to use it during Alex's vote... the only time I felt comfortable voting, let alone use my vote twice.

vote: rebel What does you being on a lynch have to do with coming back as scum after investigation? It doesn't... however, it the spirit of honesty, I figured I'd disclose what all that I have done this game to prove that I'm not scum. Other than that, I had nothing else to offer... Alex was the only one I've had a read on and I acted on it. Otherwise, I am town and have nothing else worthwhile to offer the game.

So we've got Tmarv saying Rebel is 100% scum, and Noble saying that there is a good chance Aspen isn't the Godfather.
Vote: Rebel
I'm going back to the last day's thoughts and suspicions that I had on Rebel. Something wasn't sitting right and I have still not heard anything concrete to sway me otherwise Reb.
That's not to say that I'm not inclined to see Noble's idea, but I'd rather go with something that I'm strong on and that we have a 100% idea with then the other. Just means we could have something for the next day after a lynch of Rebel goes through.

By no means the only person of suspicion in this game, but he was wrong about Alex and was the source of that bandwagon, even using his double vote to get it going, deciding only now to come clean about that. So my previous suspicions, plus the information I have (cop is 100% town) mean only one thing for me...

Toru Adachi ambles into the station as Dojima, Yu, and Nanako arrive. Adachi raises an eyebrow at this, as it is not common for Dojima to bring Nanako to work with him.
"Dojima-san, what's the matter?"
"I'll tell you in a minute. Follow me into the interrogation room."
A few moments later, the four of them have taken up residence in the interrogation room. It has a small table, a chair on either side, a reasonably large television propped up in the corner, and a basic bed off to the side for when suspects would need to be detained for the night. Nanako and Yu are sitting on the bed while Dojima sits in the seat with the back to the room.
"Have a seat."
Adachi looks more confused than anything else as he plops down in the seat facing the door, with his back more or less to the wall, and the TV.
"What's this all about, Dojima-san?"
"I asked Yu about the case last night, and he had some interesting things to say to me."
"Oh, what kind of things?"
Dojima furrows his brow, rubbing his face with his hands. He seems wary to put words to his thoughts.
"Well, he says that the killer in the case has been throwing his victims into television sets, and that the reason we can't ID the cause of death is because the victim is devoured by shadows in another world, a parallel dimension that you can reach by entering said TVs. What do you think about that?"
Adachi raises an eyebrow, looking confused. "That sounds pretty preposterous, Dojima-san. Who could possibly believe such a story?"
Dojima smiles wryly. "Yeah, that's what I thought." Dojima looks ponderous.
"He said people who can enter that world can go part-way in by sticking their hand through a TV screen."
Adachi chuckles some more. "This is sounding more and more outlandish. Are you sure you didn't just have a bad dream, Dojima-san?"
"Well that's what I want to test."
Adachi raises an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"Yeah. Go over there and stick your hand in."
"What?"
Dojima looks at his partner carefully. "Go over and stick your hand in. If you're not the killer, or if it was just a dream, it won't work and you'll just shove the TV against the wall, right?"
Adachi laughs again, but he seems decidedly more nervous this time. "Yeah...right..."
Adachi walks over to the TV in the corner, placing one hand lightly on the screen and one hand on the frame. He pauses for a moment, then shoves the TV against the wall.
Dojima scowls at his partner. "Oh for the love of god, Adachi, I saw you shove against the frame. Do it right this time!"
Adachi laughs nervously. "Eheh..sure thing..."
He takes a moment to steady his nerves, then furrows his brow. "Hey, I just remembered there's a report I was supposed to fill out..."
Adachi moves to turn around, but Dojima is standing right there to block his path.
"Hand, screen, now, Adachi. Or is there something you'd like to tell me?"
Adachi's face falls into a sneer. "Yeah, actually, there is..."
He then lunges for Dojima and pulls him toward the TV, trying to shove his head into the TV. Nanako screams as a fight breaks out.
"Daddy!"
This distracts Dojima for a moment, which is enough time for Adachi to get the upper hand, grabbing him by the tie and yanking him down. He gets Dojima partway into the TV, but Dojima plants his hands on the frame and shoves against it. His voice is muffled a bit, but still audible as Dojima fights his fate.
"Is this how you killed that announcer, then? It's too bad I'm not a woman you can overpower, isn't it?"
Dojima then reaches out and grabs Adachi's shirt collar and tie, pulling him down into the TV as well. Adachi is now flailing, trying to get out, but all he can grab is more of Dojima, making it look like both are headed into the TV. Nanako shrieks again.
"DADDY!"
Yu springs into action, rushing across the room just as they are falling into the TV World and grabbing Dojima by the ankle. He heaves with all his might and, after about a minute of struggling, pulls Dojima back into the world of the living.
Toru Adachi is not with him.
Dojima breaths heavily as he rests on the floor, Nanako rushing over to hug her father. Dojima looks up at Yu, brow still furrowed.
"Does that mean it's over? Does that mean he's going to die the same way as the announcer and your friends the next time the fog sets in?"
Yu can only shrug. There are only two people that know that answer for sure; one of them just fell into the unescapable parallel dimension, and they don't know the other one exists.
But now that the killer was gone, time was on Inaba's side.

Morning dawns in Inaba.
For once, the sound of police sirens rushing to the scene of a dead body hanging from the antenna or phone lines is absent. A peaceful day awaits the citizens of the rural Japanese town. Due to the excess of death in recent days, and the concentration of that death on the school, Yasogami High School has decided to give the students time to grieve their fallen friends. This means those students that were involved most heavily in the case have gathered, perhaps for the last time, at their special headquarters. However, there are a couple special guests.
"So...this is where you mulled over the case?"
Yu nods in response to his uncle's question.
"So that's how you escaped notice all this time...no one would look twice at a bunch of teenagers hanging out in a food court."
"Yeah. But hopefully we don't have to talk about the case anymore. We lost so many friends, but now the killer is out of commission."
Dojima frowns. "I would rather have taken him into custody so we could get an official statement and interview out of him...but if I have to choose between a killer on the loose and a killer trapped in a demonic parallel world until he dies in a few weeks, I guess I'll take this."
There is a great deal of sadness around the table as Yu, Yosuke, Chie, Yukiko, Dojima, and Nanako consider what happened over the last few days. The only positive is that the serial killer is now behind proverbial bars. The rest is sadness and regret.
"...is it over, Daddy?"
Dojima nods, smiling as brightly as he can, given the circumstances. "Yes, Nanako, it's over."
Yosuke stretches out in his seat. "Man...we need a vacation. The sadness in this place is oppressive."
"Hm...you might be on to something, there kid."
Nanako looks up at her father, bright-eyed. "Really? We can go somewhere?"
"Yes...and further away than Junes this time, okay?"
"Yay!"
"In fact...we should leave today. So figure out where you want to go with Yu, and I'm going to get the car filled up, okay?"
Nanako's only response was a thunderous cheer, which made Dojima smile properly for the first time in months. Leaving his daughter to furiously consider where she wanted to go on such short notice, he headed for his car, convinced that a trip to the gas station is going to be the most mundane action he's been involved in for months.

If my hypothesis is right...the Mafia screwed themselves on the last day phase.
Rebel claimed to have a one-time secret vote, which was obviously a false claim (especially since they voted him out)...but the actual secret voter never came forward. Maybe they were inactive, maybe they just didn't show up on time, or...
Maybe it was Aspen.
The time between her vote, and the secret vote being counted was less than 10 minutes. Now, they could have voted in the hour between Kaji's last update, but he says "and with the addition of our mystery voter...". I think Aspen voted out Rebel to give herself some claim when the focus shifted to her. The funny thing is that if Rebel hadn't claimed the secret vote, I wouldn't have guessed that she's the secret voter.
I still felt fishy about her, and it didn't help that you threw out Rhonda's name as GF, and then questioned Tmarv's credibility before laying down the vote.
So I used my night action on her again...no night kill. Now, I was wrong about her last day phase in being the Godfather, so one of two things happening.
The final mafia is trying a "no-kill" approach and trying to screw with us...or Aspen the final mafia.
I think it's the later...but let's see if the "secret voter" steps forward before I vote you.

Looks like Aspen wasnt the GF, was the lack of night kill due to scum losing their kill with the hitman and the GF dead or was it something else. It is obvious rebel was not the secret voter like he claimed, but right now I'm really not interested in who that is because where it comes from doesn't matter. What matters is we have not killed all of the scum.
Now, kajis comment about going to the gas station is going to be mundane just reeks of sering things up because like I said a few data ago, the gas station attendant turns out to be the major villian of the game. Something is going to happen, but I'm more sure what yet. e

The way I see, there could be a few reasons for a no kill.
The mafia lost the kill ability due to the Godfather and Hitman being dead, Noble managed to stop Aspen from making a kill, the mafia is going with a no kill approach, or the mafia forgot to send anything in.
I don't know which to believe. I guess the plus side (NOTE: I'm not saying it's the actual plus side) is that with the hitman and godfather down, we can kind of afford to take a chance...if that makes any sense. If Noble is leaning toward Aspen (which I doubt since he didn't lay a vote on her) voting for her is a route we could take to see her alignment and then Noble's credibility. Either that or we wait for night and have the cop investigate her to see what her alignment is.
I'm not saying we should lynch a townie for the sake of it to get us to the night or anything, just saying that we have that possibility to take a chance with one or two scum left (depending if it started at 3 or 4).

My understanding of the Godfather role (at least here in APW), once the Godfather and Hitman are dead, the ability to send in a kill is handed to remaining member(s). It's happened in a few Mafia games, and it would basically spell suicide for a remaining Mafia member if they couldn't send in a kill. That's just my thoughts on it though. I didn't vote for Aspen because I'm waiting for the secret voter/doublevoter/whatever to possibly step forward. One of the previous day's write-ups revealed that there were 3 mafia, and 2 of them are dead...so we should have 1 remaining. There shouldn't be anyone left that can falsely claim the secret voter role, leading to us having to pick sides. If I'm wrong and Aspen isn't the secret voter, at least that gives her some credibility. I just don't think Rebel would have false claimed such a specific role unless he knew who had it.

Mod Note 1: Rhonda, your vote has to be bolded to count. Please keep that in mind.
Mod Note 2: I spaced on the vote count requirement. I've been doing majority plus one in the game so far, so with 9 alive, it would still take 6 to lynch.

Oh, I don't believe that they lost it, I'm just saying that it's one of the possible options out there. Leaving everything open so that no doors are closed really.
I'd lean more toward either you stopped Aspen, or they didn't send anything in, either inactive or not. It would seem odd for them not to take someone, though, since everyone seemed to be on Rebel except you, Kurt. It's not like them taking someone out who had voted would have cast suspicion on anyone. Not sending in a kill when they had the ability seems just as bad as not having the ability.
